       -  Maxwell's History -

Maxwell Redensed-Bender. A very, very interesting man. Recently, he had took up upon the idea that if he began practicing demonic rituals, he would receive what he wanted. Eternal power. He had began speaking in demonic tounges learned from a variety of religions during these practices. “Vhaler Khateztik echzkian, verzk. Blevrg jha zeverk vien. Vhaler Khateztik vrang zeef grah varwee!” This had translated into, “Vhaler The Holy one, my life, my love. I wish to be granted eternal power. Vhaler, The Holy one, my life, my love, please grant me this.” Vhaler, he was the demon of the nether. The devil, as some spoke of his name in other religions. Maxwell had began to follow this religion, or, practices. A tattoo of his symbol is on his back. A circle with a flame in the middle, signaling death.
Vhaler, after many, many, many, demonic practices of this, he had responded. Vhaler, of the nether, had responded by writing in a strange fire onto a strange parchement. “Every soul sacrificed to me is ten feathers. When you reach 100 feathers, you will be granted your eternal power.” Of course, this was wrote in the Vhalerian tounge. “Vehrak sarvk ehvrzked duk ze vah zrek vern fehjak. Verhk vahz rerk vruejze fehjak, verk aheak erbaz egark evr zarkae paverk.” Max understood this. The took the note, pinning it up on his wall. The fire had burned into the paper, like ash. And so he began. One soul. Ten feathers. Ninety to go. Two souls, three souls. And the list went down. He reached his final soul, and began another practice to Vhaler. And it happened.
Pain erupted in his back, cringing pain. Worse than anything else. He screamed. And out came feathers. They cut through his skin, like knives, forcing their way out. They began to form something. About thirty minutes later of cringing pain, he had a pair of jet black feathered wings.
On his previous note, the language of Vhalerian were scrawled in Vhaler’s fire. “Your reward, it comes in a different hide. It comes in wings, instead of powers. With these wings, it will show your true power to all of those below you. Their stunning ebony color will make people fear you. And from previous practices, you have learned, fear is the biggest power. With these wings, you will be feared. However, these wings come at a price. I do expect you to gain followers. You are to risk your own life, for others. You may be hunted down, you may have a high bounty. But it’s for me. You are to preach my word. You are my first prophet.” Maxwell read the note, and with that, he kept it pinned onto his wall. And so his journey of being a prophet began.

- OOC-
Basically, I would like to request to have wings from an admin. This will play a vital role in my character’s RP, as he is the first prophet of Vhaler, it will show his ‘holiness’ or whatever you want to call it. Maxwell is a vital part of the religion of Vhaler, and having wings will help convince others ICly that Vhaler is all power, knowledge, and fear, and all that. Overall, it is vital in Maxwell’s life as a prophet of Vhaler. I understand that I have very slim chances of this being accepted. I also would like for you to know that I will be responsible with my wings, if I do get them. Maxwell needs his wings for vital religious RP, as they will be used during sacrifices, and will be used often to preach. His wings will be used as well to represent the power of Vhaler.

On a side note, I will be creating a lore post on the religion of Vhaler to go more in depth. But here is some of the history:

-  Vhaler's History -

Vhaler was a quite evil man when he was alive. There was reason to this, he was longly related to a daemon, and was cursed 1000 years ago. The current region was Asulon. Vhaler, was gifted with a great but yet devious mind. At a young age, he would torture rats. And as he grew older, rats turned to deer. Deer turned to human. By his late twenties, he had many women tripping over him. He formed what was soon called the "Cult of Crows" their symbol, was a circle with a single flame in the middle. Vhaler was unique. He would play a typical nice guy when trying to rope his victims in, and he would attract the attention of many women. He would mess around with them, and kill him with a brilliant poison created by him. Rehrk.
   He was
immune to Rehrk. So he experimented with himself. He injected Rehrk into his salivary glands, giving him 'venom' that would have to be refilled every so often. So, when he would kiss women, they would swallow the Rehrk and would quickly die. Rherk was created using his own blood, along with a few other poisons. The other poisons would have very little effect on males,  The only cure known at the time was extremely expensive, and hard to make. It was genius. Vhaler was a genius, with good looks, and an evil mind.  Soon, Vhaler became highly wanted, and was captured by a secret society. Because his bounty was so high, they swiftly executed him in his sleep, bringing his head. They were payed richly.
Vhaler did not rise into the heavens, instead, he fell into the depths of the nether. But he fit in very well here. In the nether, Vhaler supposedly worked himself up through the ranks of nether. He was then claimed King of the Nether, and he let very few of the overworld know. Often, he was portrayed as the devil, or the demon of the nether. In other religions, his name varied. But they definitely knew of him.
Vhaler was the center of all misery, and evil. Those who were in the Cult of Crows that had survived, because saints of his new religion. They received messages from Vhaler through 'Vhaler's Fire'. This type of fire would burn on parchment, but wouldn't burn through. It would also create ash after a while, but the ash could not be moved. The same parchment would be used five times for messages, so it was important to keep up with it. The saints of Vhaler's names were thought to be known as Daveed, Jonatheezus, Vajark, and Grekn. A human, a dwarf, an orc, and an elf. Descendants them would be highly important. Vhaler promised that one of their descendent would be crowned the first prophet of Vhaler. It would be the 105th  descendent one of the four. The secret was unknown to all, except the four saints. This was Maxwell. A descendent of Grekn. Or, the descendent. The 10th of Grekn. Holding the last name of Redensed. He promised that the 10th Redensed would receive the message later in life. And that he would receive the gift of Vhaler's tounge. Again, later in life.

- Edren's History -
Edren. He was a daemon long, long ago. A filthy, evil, dirty daemon. He was shamed upon, and was often known as the Daemon of the Nether, because that's where he was thought to go. Edren mated with mortals, and two half-daemon
babies. The first died, and the second was named Etherian. Etherian was cursed as a young child by many many people. This was because he was born of Edren. Filth, and trash were his nicknames. He was cursed by one man. "All of your decendents shall have only sons. And the 200th shall be beheaded and evil." So poor Etherian was cursed for eternity. So by the time his 200th descendent came around, his name was Vhaler. And as expected, he was indeed cursed. Vhaler's mind was wired to be evil. It wasn't really his fault, but he embraced it. He loved being evil. He loved the power. He loved the fear people would get from him. It pumped him up, and when people tried to take him down, it only made him happier and more motavated.

- After Vhaler -
Edren had created one-hudred attempts of a man with wings.
The first five had ended up viciously mutated, and horrible. These where of the other of the four saints. They died soon after the age of ten years old. For the next few years, they saint's kept attempting at reproducing. This was a total of 30 babies. All were complete failures. So there were still 65 attempts left. Edren would target those who were worshippers of evil, or demons, or voodoo practicers. He would try to put wings on them, however they were unwilling. Unfortunately, the first few attempts were vial mutations, and failures. As the attempts progressed, the wing 'prototype' became better and better. It soon came to the 100th man. This was Maxwell. Edren tested his wings onto Max. The bad thing about them, where they caused excruciating pain onto him while growing. They also cause random spurts of excruciating pains felt in the wing during the first three days of each IC year. These pains would be so bad, that they could nearly knock a man out. This is due to an unfortunate malfunction while placing the wings onto Maxwell.

- But, Why? -
I am requesting wings and the lore of Vhaler's religion as I plan to use them to help my character have very in-depth RP. Here is a few examples of what I plan for in the future, if the lore is accepted.

Maxwell looks to the flickering flames, moving his wings upwards. He begins a chant in the language of Vhaler. "Vherl Kzrrk jzhaaa jzeeefk vlek brek vrken Vhaler zavrk!" He repeats it over the course of three times. Soon, the flames grow. Maxwell raised his wings once more, and used them to cover his face. He does some motions with his hands, and repeats the chant to the sound of the flickering fire. Removing the wings from his face at last, the fire erupts into a large crackling mass of flame. It speaks the tongue of Vhaler to Maxewell, leaving him a message. Maxwell had just prepared for a reading.

Maxwell stands in front of the people. He begins to speak "The mind of Edren, 0' four." He says, raising two fingers. The sign of Vhaler. He lights a fire, and begins to speak. "Edren, you filth." Martwain had said to him. "You didn't deserve to be a daemon. Aegis knows why you were chosen." He had said angrily." Maxwell pauses, flipping a page. "Martwain, you understand of nothing. I am knowledge, power, and darkness. I am all there is to life. I am everything. You-" Eden pauses, running fingers over Martwain's neck "Are of nothing. Now shut it, mortal." - WIP

  -Edits-
1. Currently in process of writing Vhaler lore.
2. This will not give me a fighting advantage. It will technically be a disadvantage, due to more things to protect.
3. No, he can not fly.

sorry but no.

I for one see no reason you should have wings.

first off, who is Vhaler and what makes /your/ character so special, he needs to have wings when others have actually had events to get wings, only to be told they cant.

plus you should NOT be able to fly...

<3 you, but no

I for one see no reason you should have wings.

Also, I'm fairly sure there is no such thing as a "Demon" on LOTC.

I told you this Kallimar, SEVERAL staff have said no one but those who already do will have wings. It's simply just irrational.

Hate to be that person but

Wings may not be roleplayed as part of your character without Administrator approval

Basically, I would like to request to have wings from an admin.

He's actually following protocol.

He's actually following protocol.

Last I heard, it was supposed to be PM asking. That, and he's requesting for the ability to fly, which is a no-no according to that post as well from my perspective.

On top of it, sadly freya, they wont even let people have MADE wings from cardboard and such...

His character has no logical reason to have wings. I have had people go through trials to gain wings, only to get them ripped away by GMs who said no.

Kalimar, you have /no/ logical reason to get wings. I am sorry but being a "prophet" does not give you wings. Nor does making a false deity.

Asking for wings without even a lore post for your "God" Is a bit too fast,I would get his lore written up and as far as i know mortals do not become Daemons or aenguls they are (currently) beings that follow a single goal almost mindlessly. While the lore could work if it was how they believe him to become one but they were just  an daemon or aengul in their mortal form which they can manifest into with some drawbacks and risks.

http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Aengudaemons Best place to look at the lore currently.
