As you can see by Cyndikate's post, even avid supporters of RP fighting aren't a fan of mass fights. It's incredibly unlikely that large parties will turn out with a majority in favor of RP fighting, so this is more of a theoretical possibility than it is an actual event that will happen.You'd be surprised at the amount of dumb players calling RP default despite having a total of 8 or so players involved. You have to prepare for everything. Even if you don't think players would do this. Make it PVP default for players totalling 5 players+. What about those that, before you even start a fight go "PVP default" right off the bat without a discussion or any form of civil talk? It hurts... Ban report them. Unless its just you and one other guy. WHY DOES IT ALL HURT? --But in all honesty, the 'majority rules' rule was removed because it only served to cause conflict between the two parties. The current system has been less than flawless, though we can all agree the amount of conflict-RP related ban reports has dropped significantly since the change. The combat RP situation on this server has been a constant one step forward, two steps backwards situation for the longest time. But the largest controversy of this matter is: We want PVP default VS we want RP default. Each side dislikes the other. Although, I must say that I think over half of the debate in this is from removing villain apps (Not all of it, but a lot). Now people who don't know how to RP, can steal, kill, and act on OOC motivation. This goes for soldiers too. Back when villain apps were around, people who actually had serious intent on being villains applied. Now it's easy picking. At the same time, I really really appreciate the clarification Alan (I mean that, No sarcasm intended)! This will definitely tone down the "Oh this is so unfair!" a little bit. Players like to read into every rule LOTC has placed so they can use it to their benefit. Also I suggest a rule that when more than 5-6 players total enter conflict, it's automatically PVP. argonian 14254 Share Posted April 25, 2014 I love how Alan is pretending that they always meant for the rule to be like this, when for months the GMs and Admins always interpreted the rule the way it was written and so did every single player.
