A Lion's Last Roar

Vorstag hears the news from afar, his presumption that their feud lay in the interests of the Empire and Urguan and not themselves, he nods to the sky's above and continues onwards.

((Great read man, enjoy real life, we all gotta hang up the old mouse and keyboard sometime eh.

Fabian Virosi, despite his exile, weeps for the man he witnessed Godfrey choose to rule. He hopes that his successor will be as great a man.

Soldiers from the 48th company gather in the training grounds near Kaldonia, they stand in line without a sound as Gerald Elgan begins to play the trumpet.

The Men of the 48th raise their crossbows, each firing three volleys of bolts into the nearby valley.

"Ave Chivay,"

says Edward, as he watches the womenfolk of Oren throw themselves on Peter's funeral pyre in anguish at the loss of their finely chiseled sovereign. He then sends a letter to his cousin, discussing canonization.

Word of Peter's death spreads rather quickly, reaching the ears of Faiz Kharadeen. Faiz simply sits there around his family, both sadden and relieved that the Emperor has passed. Not relieved because Peter had died, but happy that he was able to die peacefully, to die while still keeping his honor intact and to not live beyond 300 like some heretical being.

"Peter Chivay was a great Emperor.. Most likely the best I will ever be able to see in my short life as a human.." Faiz lets out a sigh, stands up and faces in the direction of Kaldonia, bowing his head as he traces the Lorraine cross upon his chest, uttering a small prayer. His three children look up at Faiz, trying to mimic what he does and repeat the same prayer.

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon." Faiz says right after he finishes the prayer.

His children look up at him, confused. They ask their father what that meant, and Faiz looks to them with a smile "It means it was He, the Creator, who placed us upon this realm, and to He we shall return to."

The children gap their mouths open, nodding, still trying to repeat what he said.

"Here.. Repeat after me..

Ave Chivay, Ave Orenia."

Malik, Ceto, and Arlen repeat after Faiz
"Ave Chivy, Ave Oren!"

Alexander sits at his campfire in the far reaches of the Fringe as word reaches him of the Emperor's death. He would lower his gaze to the flames before letting out a cool sigh of sadness, falling onto his back. The old knight's eyes would go wide and fearful before he began to choke, dying the same day as the Emperor- the man he failed to serve.

Lord Rhys Briarwood stood upon the road, watching the Emperor's final march. A melancholy look plastered upon his face, the Lord salutes, followed by the saluting of his loyal bannermen.

"Paradise eternal awaits thee, mein Kaiser."

Somewhere, deep down in the young Adunian woman's blood, whatever Human part of her produces a tear. From then on never would she know why on that night she burst into sobs. Perhaps she swallowed something the wrong way, or a flare of seemingly pointless emotion. She'd never know, but in that moment she curled up on her largely-sized couch, and the blue pillows stained with tears.

((I've always been distant from Oren. There, but not quite apart of. In the early days of Asulon I even found myself living in Arethor on my Wood Elf, but I never bothered to know what was going on around me. But today, from the outside I say 'Ave Chivay, Ave Oren.'

Deus Magnus, you amazingly silly Humans.))

Brae Meridian wanders around, not understanding why everyone is so solemn. The child recognizes the name Peter Chivay as something his now deceased father would say back when he was very little. He doesn't approach anyone to ask what the momentous situation seems to be because his mama told him not to talk to strangers, but even a little boy can tell something big was missing from the human nation.
