The Great Freeze

 Share

Recommended Posts

As the Races of Thales go about their business in their new world, a chill creeps into the air. The days of spring grow shorter, punctuated by a bitter cold which seeps into the bones of the people. Crops refuse to grow even under the care of the most skilled farmers, frost blankets the grass.

Animals become gaunt as their grazing pastures are filled with naught but brown grass, layered by ice and frost. The less durable of the domestic animals simply die, unable to make it through the frigid winters, into the brief respite that remains.

The change comes gradually, hardly noticeable until the worst of its effects kick in. Sun's Smile, once a month of growth and life, now is patron to only the snow. The great farm fields of each nation lay bare and infertile, choked out by the frigid temperature as mothers hug their babes closer for warmth, and warriors struggle to move in armor nigh frozen in place. Storehouses and larders slowly thin out as the food meant to replenish them never comes. Worried looks cross between quartermasters and nation leaders as it slowly dawns on them that soon, Thales will not provide enough food to feed her people.

A great chill descends upon Thales. The deepest winter in history looms over the races like a grim shadow.

The Great Freeze has begun.

Many of you have probably begun to notice that our winters have grown longer. DO not fret, it is no bug or accident, merely a new step on our journey. Happy roleplaying, folks.

The man, clad in a black cloak would lift his head towards the sky, a rather peculiar mask hiding his expression. For a few moments he would stay still, trudging off in silence afterwards.

Isaiah Pearce would curse under his breath.

((This better be 4.0 you hooligans, or else I will gut every one of you, starting with OUITY. K???)) KIDDING KIDDING DONT BANANA ME

A random elder dark elf looks around at the snow, "Winter is coming... maybe nature is the only thing to stop this game... this Game of Thrones." He dusts off the snow that falls onto his cloak, pulling his hood back up, he trudges down the road looking for a fire to warm his bones.

Following the cold, a sudden warm wisp of heat blows across the land of Thales from a high up mountain. Following, a loud shout of joy mixed with compassion,

"TOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR GEYUTZ TU PLAWY ENG DAH ZNUW!!!!"
