Sadly, I believe this may actually be the reaction of a certain few people.

Since when did anyone need to be semi-professional approaching a classmate? Just say their ******* name and talk to them. They aren't your boss ffs.

Thanks, Jack.

You stand correct, I should have been more specific in saying college classmate. That being said, do you actually go to your friend and talk to them in this fashion:

Example A: "fk with me, i fk with you..."

Example B: "(ಥ‸ಥ)"

Example C: "you should do it during ramadan dood, or eid!! but goodluck, mashallah they grow up so fast"

Those are examples that I managed to pluck, but we aren't even seeing the dark side of the moon that are statuses that have been deleted in the past. It is a means to rile up mob mentality. You'll notice that status updates were micro-chatrooms between folks that are already cool with each other. Feel free to hit someone up via Skype, TS3, Forum PM, or /tells in-game to start your chat-rooms up.

Back to the days of several posts immediately after a server down that wasn't planned. There wasn't any negative status update that didn't get removed within moments of it being up, because we have a team dedicated to keeping the forums within the rules. Though, I don't care either way for both status updates and reputation, both are useless trivial things that we can live without.

Why didn't you guys just make a Your View about the idea before?

Can I just ask why the playerbase wasn't informed of this experiment beforehand? Did it pass upon anyone's mind of what would occur if an experiment were to be formulated unannounced? The answer to this question is probably some place beneath all the passive aggressiveness above my post.

I mean, it was stated staff did discuss this, why didn't any of the staff, assuming it was a large number due to actual staff defending the experiment, ponder on how portions of the playerbase would react?

Raptor and I discussed something, status updates appear to be a manner of connecting with people that are outside of your clique. Raptor and I proved this with at least one 'test subject', so staff might want to consider this for when this experiment is over.

Don't limit statuses. Everything else is fine, but statuses are a necessity for a huge portion of the playerbase. It's how we communicate without making junk posts and all sorts of threads. Remove that limitation. Don't even bother testing it.

If you want the team members to do their announcements (which I find pointless and, honestly, uninteresting), make a second status update log, right under the normal one, so you may have both, instead of restricting it. I don't read statuses for important info. I read them to be in touch with other members of the community and, sometimes, to see what others are up to that might interest me.

Usually, the staff tends to be boring when it comes to statuses, and I can already tell there's going to be quite a few of them promoting voting on minestatus or redundant things of the sort; things most (if not many) of us don't really care about. We read announcement posts and news for that kind of stuff, aye?

To this, I am adding that statuses save the forums from getting piles and piles of support/feedback threads, as well as many other things we, the community, help each other with through status replies. How will noobs or inexperienced players find help quickly over doubts they get all the time?

Removing an outlet doesn't solve the problem, it just moves it - I hope to see status's return. [We have warns for a reason!]
