Technology: Very Mildly Technologically Advanced.

Resources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albaniahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo

Abundance of metals such as Iron and Chrome in the Northern mountains of the country. Abundance of water sites that can be used for Hydroelectric Power. Abundance of Lumber. Some oil reserves (the south of the country, in Mallakaster). Large potential for aqua-culturing. Abundance in food and space for agriculture.

Geography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albania

A country bordered by the Adriatic and Ionian seas to the west and by large, dangerous mountain ranges to the north and the east. To the south, the land is fertile and plentiful in resources, but lacks forests and the terrain is rough and hilly. This country is easy to defend, but terribly hard to attack.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo

A country totally surrounded by mountains, Kosovo is extremely hard to navigate and a pain both to defend and attack. This country Is also not well developed, its only developments being those made by the Yugoslavian Federation before it collapsed and by the Albanian Republic before the Kingdom was declared. It is a country of endless potential, with an over abundance of lumber and building materials, and a very large amount of coal and iron to be mined in its mountains.

Background:

July 2nd, 1990: Kosovo declares independence from Yugoslavia. Soon the entire worlds finds out the reason: and ethnic cleansing campaign had been initiated against all non-slavs by the Yugoslavian Dictator Milosevic, who aimed to eradicate Kosovo of all citizens of Albanian origin. This leads to the U.N and NATO to begin their bombings of Serbia. The country is freed and recognized by the Americans and their allies. It then undergoes a strenuous ordeal, trying to get recognized by the world.

Albania, meanwhile, undergoes its own crises. While helping Kosovo gain their independence, the country had just come out of its own oppressive communist regime. Up until the year 2000, Albania was a jungle of chaos as Gangs fought for control of the country. Eventually Albania regained itself, and began helping Kosovo.

In 2013, a new, more liberal Socialist administration takes over the Albanian Government in an election that kicked out the previous conservative Democratic government which was proving highly ineffective. The people were concerned, and major changes started happening. The government was led by two leaders, one of whom was hated across the country. In the first years of the administrate Ilir Meta, one of the heads of the state, was doing most of the work, but at the turn of 2014 Eduard Rama began taking power.

The transformation began violently. The new government was effective and ruthless, almost Fascist at an extent. They eradicated the Capital city of old buildings and built new ones in their place. They tracked down all the people that were stealing electricity from Government Power Plants, and taxed them all. The people began to cry in outrage, as the government began knocking down illegal buildings that many families lived in, and built new ones in their stead. They expanded the agricultural aspects of albania and the mining aspects, stressing the industry and creating more jobs. Everything was going great.

Kosovo was doing good as well. After abandoning the Euro and taking up the Albanian Lek, Kosovo's economy faltered at first but began to stabilize as the Euro began collapsing in 2016. Kosovo stressed its tourist industry and mining industry above all, modernizing its cities and becoming a model country. It was internationally recognized in 2017, and with the help of America and the UN the country began to flourish.

As years passed, the Governments of Albania and Kosovo began to run wild with nationalism. A petition was put out for the two countries to join into one, now that their industries were stabilized and running well. It succeeded with 97% of people voting Yes. The two countries united in the Albanian Kosovan Republic in 2020.

Yet, alas, one flaw of the union was that it was ever dependent on the UN. The country itself was flourishing but was not prepared for what was about to come. In 2024, nationalism ran wild as protests happened all across the country. In result to the UNs ineffectiveness, the old government was ousted for a new government, as the previously successful Zog dynasty was re-instated. This caused great turmoil in the country, as old royal families were re-appointed to power and the King began to use his power in an Absolute manner. In response, the Albanian Government send its armed forces to seize the city, resulting in a Constitutional Monarchy.

The people were sated, thinking their rebellion had worked, but the country was in chaos. The government struggled to enforce the same strictness it had enforced beforehand. In 2028, when the UN collapsed, the country was unprepared for the storm of hatred that came its way. Only because of fear did they surrender over to Italy. This led the country to re-stabilize itself while under Italian rule. Under the guise of a provincial government, they raised an army, and declared their independence eventually.

Now, the country struggles to regain old allies and maintain a good position with everyone. With a radical army and an Islamic majority, the newly declared Kingdom of Illyria and Dardania fights on, never faltering, implying extreme policies such as the scorched earth policy. In a struggle for independence, the country fights on.

Accepted, Heff took Albania as Italy but I'm gonna void it just because you put so much effort into this and I think you deserve it. He hasn't done much with it anyway.

The Balkans are all mine now (assuming they joined after my offer/the threat of Turk invasion of Italy's defense fell and half of turkey has been taken by Italy

Edit: will Albania be like semi-autonomous or completely independent?

It's fine if the latter is correct

Yeah Masky, sorry if I wasn't clear enough but I basically set it up as the capital by imperial decree. Due to the national emergency, lower government was not given a say in the matter.

Also pok, invisible helicopters? That was at like page 80 last time

Also Brad, you say the French push the IC back to Egypt, but the map doesn't reflect that. Do you therefore mean that the IC forces are just pushed out of French territory into Tunisia, which is counted as Egypt's territory, or did you just do the map wrong (lol)?

Yeah, I meant Libya not Egypt xD

Also, I included Slovakia under German rule in post and on map.

if you read my posts and animals, I've already pushed through Libya and the stalemate is on the Libyan/Egyptian border right now. Please update the map accordingly.
