Step 1: The New Rules

I've been meaning to ask this question: Is there a set of rules to go by for Rp fight? Because I have seen many instances where Rp fight is initiated, then a person just continuously goes for ' Tries to chop of head ' ' Stab through the Heart ' ' Impaled on sword ' ' Slice throat open ' Ect. Instant death kills over and over with every swing even if the other person beats their rolls. Logic would say that Rp fighting would....make sense and be more honor based but that doesn't seem to be the case. So is there a little guide to Rp fighting so people don't abuse it?

I think their needs to be specification as to what is a legitimate cause to say you're not ready, otherwise exploitation ahoy.

  • Playing a main race unless permited to play a creature or animal is not stated in the rules.
  • Always being IC is not stated in the rules
  • Talking a lot in LOOC being not permited is not stated in the rules (note, this is not spamming the chat, just using the chat for the wrong reasons)

Also, does this mean there will be no more lore rules?

  • Playing as anything other than one of the main races without approval

We removed "Always being IC" from the rules because it is a given. The way the rule was worded was that you can't speak in OOC in IC chat, which is what the separate chats are there for.

What defines talking a lot in LOOC? Since when have we punished someone for doing so? That's more of a rule than a guideline.

We removed the lore rules because all of the lore rules fall under our global and roleplay rules.

There were many problems with this until a rule about it was done, but I guess it's not needed.

About the lore rules, first of, I will be extremelly picky with this post, so must likely you can ignore it.

" if you cannot do something using Minecraft mechanics, you cannot do it in roleplay."

Pure and simply, that is not true, you can roleplay a lot of stuff that doesn't happen in MC. Example would be many many actions, like tea making. But as well, grabbing someone, pulling someone, chaining or roping someone. Lets not forget our use of birds through tells, since the tells' use is for talking in OOC.

To tell the truth, I think the rule should be "If you can't get inside somewhere in MC, you can't in RP. If you don't have an MCitem to represent something to use in a violent or threatning manner in MC, you can't have it in RP." All other stuff no one cares about, and they actually have to be respected. Someone grabs you in rp, in MC you can walk around, and in MC you can't grab them, but clearly since this is a roleplay server he has to respond to the person trying to grab him, and if he has accepted being grabbed, then he can not simply ignore it due to the other person not being able to show it in mechanics.

Then you say that not all things you can do in MC is allowed, then you give an example of something that can't be done IC because it can't in MC. I would suggest moving it so that the example is before the statement about the stuff that in MC isn't allowed, followed by the topics on what isn't allowed in MC.

Now a question, the rules say they can't break server lore, but what about not breaking it and creating it? Daemons are part of LOTC lore, players wouldn't be breaking lore by creating a new Daemon and using it in rp.

If someone is RPing something like Altair or Link feel free to report them to a moderator. It would help to have something posted on it though. Something along the lines of

"You may not RP characters from other fantasy/game settings ie.. Link, Altair..."

Once the choice of Mechanical-Based combat has been decided, it cannot be changed unless all parties involved agree to the change.

Fixed it.

So the Mechanic based ruling if 6 people got into a fight, 5 of them without equipment and wanted to do magical based RP combat and one of them declares he wants to do PvP, everyone has to?

From what I understand in that case it's "Majority Rules"

So if 6 people get into a fight, 5 with armor want PVP and 1 without doesn't want to PVP then it's PVP automatically.

Toxicity needs a specific definitions.

I don't trust GMs not to just ban someone they don't like and use "toxicity" as their reasoning.

Please clarify this rule for reasons..
