Censorship.

I'm not going to mince words.

Staff (that mainly includes GMs), you need to communicate more actively with the player base. You've deleted multiple statuses created by my friend, Wardog, and you've not given him a reason. People are complaining publicly and you're removing their right to, which is censorship. I understand that LotC is not 'America', but you need to communicate with us. We're not your enemy.

With that said, I would like to open this thread to calm discussion about how the staff can communicate with the player base and vice versa.

There was a recent incident, well, in my oppinion it seemed that a mod banned a certain individual just because he didn't like him OOC, the mod didn't try to warn him, he just banned him on the spot, he didn't want to help he just wanted the player gone, that in my opinion is awful, that is disgusting, if you have a problem, at least attempt to solve it in a way so that both parties are happy, if a verdict cannot be reached, take screenshots of his offenses and ban him, present the screenshots to him on the forums, the staff is here to help the players, not to abuse their responsibilities.

Anyways, that's my bit, i'm just extremely disappointed in a certain staff member currently

Communication between the players and the staff is something of the utmost importance for LotC, I am sure we can all agree on that.

I will happily listen to whatever the players wish to say, and will recommend that other Mods read this thread and do the same, so long as everyone remains civil. Please note that several Mods and FM's will be monitoring this post, lets not get at each others throats now Eh?

This random deleting stuff's getting real redundant. Not only is removing and locking threads with little response or chance for others to respond lazy, but it's creating a poor staff-community relationship. It implies that the staff is sick of the **** we're shelling out, when in reality everyone's just voicing their opinions, and as a community, should have the right to. It's understood this isn't a democracy, but if you're going to shut down major complaints five minutes after being raised, you're going to piss people off and whoever is doing it will be found out and then reported.

I'd do that, atleast.

I appreciate this. May I ask why status updates are being deleted without provided reason? Perhaps staff members who hide statuses can PM the poster to inform them of the reasons?

Oh my god do you people just scream bias whenever something doesn't go your way? Milk take your own advice and present your concerns with this mod instead of A.) not saying his or her name in your post but alluding to it and B.) calling staff out staff bias with zero presented evidence.

I'm sure there was good reason why Wardogs statuses were hidden and I'm sorry but the staff don't need to publicly express there reasoning for every little thing.

I feel a post is unnecessary and your just making drama.

An attitude like this really shoots down what this post is about. Disco isn't here to start drama, but instead point out what people have issues with. I personally agree, communication between the staff and player base should be better. With that being said, communication between staff and staff also needs to be better.  If I ask one LM for conformation on something and another says something completely different and both claim to have not spoken to one another on the subject, it's rather difficult.

When situations such as that arise reasons are/will be provided to the player in question in a PM in order to maintain player privacy. Sometimes it takes a little to write the PM up (some mods are slow typers)

If a similar situation where to arise again, I would recommend waiting a little while before trying to post a similar status. That only serves to make the situation worse.

No, I don't scream bias when something doesn't go my way. I understand that my thread may imply that I am a whiny person, but I do not believe I am. I'm not going to speak for or about Miky's behavior.

I understand that there might be good reason for Wardogs statuses being hidden, but I don't see it. I really don't. No, the staff don't need to express their reasoning for every little thing, but I see the necessity to explain why they are silencing opinions.

Too be quite honest, whoever deletes the status is suppose to PM the person who made the status.  Which in recent cases I am not sure it is being done.

However, I am always wanting to hear what the player base has to say because, think about it. If you guys weren't here, neither would we. Staff needs players and you guys need us. In light of this, if you do have any issues either with myself or the FM team, shoot me a message so I can either shape myself or shape my team so the community will view them as a better staff.

I apologize about the inconvenience that you and your friend have had today, if you do wish to PM me about this, feel free, I am all ears.

If you want us to listen to your statuses instead of deleting them then try to not post them to be blatantly passive aggressive or think you are somehow getting the upper hand on the staff by posting some witty remark. I can't speak for the statuses removed as I haven't seen them but with how things go regarding battles/wars I am sure the statuses removed were either taken in a bad light or were just complaints shelled out with a side of snark.

Also it is within your right to freak out if your friend is banned. It isn't going to change the verdict though.

@Ellen

I've already spoken to the mod, which ended up with them being extremely hostile towards me, and tons of evidence has already been presented with this case, by keeping all names anonymous I planned to stay away from unnecessary drama like this.

Anyways... My name is not Milk, it's Miky :I

The problem with this is the amount of feedback we get at one time. Lets take a look at the latest situation. Kowaman created a thread in order to get feedback, and then said he would make some changes due to what was needed and what he gathered from feedback. He is the only coder working on the current plugin. Now its not even been a few hours and someone is already making another feedback thread about it.... we haven't even gotten to test the last one yet. Add this to the fact that several people will take any chance they get in order to re-state their own opinion and you get a large mess that we need to wade through to get to what really helps us. Think about these past two threads... thats two threads with at least 5 pages each. Every page is about 10 responses, and each response is about a paragraph. Thats 100 paragraphs for Kowaman, the sole coder for this plugin, to shift through and read. Please understand that staff are only human as well, and we can only respond to so much as once being bombarded at us.
