Your View: What's The Top Priority?

Based on talk on the forums I have drawn a conclusion that there is not one solid definition of what an Administrator is and does going around amongst the community. So rather than come in and tell you, I thought I might as well ask to see what you think. So that's the first question

What do you believe is the role of an Administrator?

And then the next thing, while we have an opportunity to open up the floor, let's hear what is the most important things that need addressing. Across all departments whether it is a policy or a plugin. Anyone can raise their voice for what they want, but rarely are we asked to share it.

What should be the top priorities right now?

Let's not forget that this is a Your View and all views are valid. Debates are completely unnecessary.

Admins: 

Someone who propagates roleplay and listens to players from all sides of the server.

What's needed: 

More diverse staff teams, I understand wanting to work with your friends, but when you're working with just your friends it becomes bias and stagnant. Shake somethings up, do stuff, make mistakes, fix em. Sitting there and saying "we're working" means nothing to us.

I always tended to see Admins as the ChIef Executives of a server, however I'm starting to think that some of the staff are more like the trust fund kids of these CEOs.

In my opinion, admins should check on GMs, respond to feedback, and manage the other teams and their projects.

In my opinion, the top priority should be to oil up the staff machine, and get things running smoothly yet again. I also think there are a great lot of messy things about Athera, especially pertaining to rules and plugins. It seems progress is indeed getting made though, what with new war rules and such.

I always believed that Administrators should be in charge of monitoring, disciplining, and managing the various Staff Teams, as well as being the final arbiters in decisions about rules, server defaults, ban appeals, etc.

Role models of the server who anyone can look up to, also those who help move the server along in a friendly manner, and have the ability to be easily approached. 

 

Top Prioritie(s):

-Create a "Constructive Criticism" thread about each member of the GM/Admin team so we can lay out what we truly think about the staff member instead of going behind their backs and making ourselves, the community, look like ******-nuggets

-Actually talk to the players instead of popping in from time to time, saying something, then going away for another week or month until all hell breaks loose over one of your decisions that no one agrees with, show us logs of what the actual Admins, not the GMs, talk about for the server instead of being secretive until the last minute, so the player base knows that they are all not spending the server's money on crack

On a serious note; for those who're concerned with the progress of the server, think about it. It was only a year ago where the Admins were stagnant, the GM were slow to react, players were unsettled, and overall everything was bad.

But recently, Admins are coming, going, being replaced, teams are changing, and everything's flowing. Most notably, Admins seem to be getting active to some extent.. Things are moving! Yeah, this isn't the best we could be doing, but it's certainly something.

 

And I for one, am excited.

The Administrations job is just that, to Administrate to server and community, they are the leading heads of the community as a whole and as such should lead by example. Doing the more important jobs and delegating smaller jobs to those that are trust worthy.

 

The top priority I believe is mending the breakage of communication and feedback between the community and the staff themselves.

I for some reason always had a special place in my heart for that brewery plugin, it could REALLY be expanded upon in alot of areas. Also....

We've survived this long without it, no point in rushing it. 

 

I want a GTA V Quality Magic Plugin where we get everything we were promised. Except heists.

 

Not a Destiny-Quality one that is 'okay' but only delivered on 40% of what it promised.

What he said. But I think we all still need to have realistic expectations for this plugin, RP is a valuable tool and is more imaginative then a simple plugin.
