5.0 Fast Travels and Raiding

  1. 1. 5.0 Fast Travel

    • Fast Travel should be like Vailor, being common upon the server
    • Fast Travel should be per island
    • Fast Travel should be allowed to nation capitals only
    • Fast travel should be allowed to nations only, however is limited to an amount (Ex: 5 Per nation)
    • Fast Travel should be removed completely
  2. 2. Raid Limit

    • Maximum raid cap should be decreased (2 or 3)
    • Maximum raid cap should remain the same (4)
    • Maximum raid cap should be inceased to 6
    • Maximum raid cap should be increased to 8
    • Maximum raid cap should be increased (State your opinion/idea down below)

I'm sorry for posting this but I am of a strong negative opinion about doubling the numbers of raiders allowed and my vote still counts for it. :x

 

I don't know what else to do beyond pesonally bothering a FM about it or something.

I believe that raiding should be eight if you're attacking a capital. It should be six if it's a fort/castle, and four if it's a town/village.

There are very few things military and combat organizations can do these days due to strict raid cap and Defender default etc. Raising the raid cap will allow these groups to do larger group operations while defender default will protect those who just wanna RP in peace, and banditry and outlawed raiding has been very rare this year. Would be good to have the cap raised to 8 or more. 

 

Fast travels should be limited, but it also depends on how large and what kind of map we're going to have. 1 or 2 per nation.

The fast travels should be one per island or removed completely. There are many people who sometimes FTs away from combat, which takes unnecessary time. And less FTs could create more rp - For example rp on the road, or a tavern by the road, anything that can create more rp. Right now the fast travels are annoying and I think they take away a lot of fun from the server.

We should have boats that get us to other islands but that's the only FT's we should have. We should still have carts ofcourse, but not for FT's. I think carts should be there for aesthetics. This would promote road RP leading to potential caravans and banditry, this would also promote the use of inns and taverns next to roads to provide people with rest and relaxation along the way. This would also allow people to build bandit camps/black markets off of the roads yet just close enough for muggings to occur. Simply put, this would encourage bandit RP while also encouraging patrol routes to occur.

 

Farms, taverns and inns could also be subject to raids. If the raid cap stays at 4 these raids could be easily defended, but if the raid cap is raised to 8, the raids would become much more dangerous to handle.

 

Edit: This would also promote the use of horses and stables, since horses could be used to easily avoid bandit RP in the first place.

I think the amount of FTs should depend on the size of the map: Big map - More FTs ; Small map - Less or no FTs. The point of FTs should just be so you don't have to walk thousands of blocks to get around, not to take you to every single tiny settlement, that is what redstone ss pillars are for.

Raid cap should be raised, and the timer should be raised as well. I would say make it eight and make the raid timer seven days. Two days is too short, I think. Raids should be a threat, but they shouldn't occur frequently enough to be predictable. Orcs raid Wood elf area every two days, and at times I don't even want to log in anymore. I don't want dealing with orcs to be the focus of my roleplay. I get that that's their thing, but the time interval is so short.

Add dragons as pets so we can fly around raiding anywhere we like or we kill the hostages.

I just want fast travel to make sense. There are sometimes I'll take a boat and wind somewhere where it seem like I have just taken a cart, and then I will take a cart and wind up going through the location I'm going to (In RP, as the travel is instant.) just to join up with a bunch of other carts.

 

As well, it would be nice if we could have fast travels with good sides and down sides:

Good:

Avoid bandits and monsters

Bad:

It takes longer to travel by cart than to have just walked for yourself.

 

I understand why so many people wouldn't like it that way though, as I walk from Carnatia to Felsen a few times and it took me almost 6 minutes(Sprint jumping would be significantly faster) This system was actually brought up as an idea in Asulon, and it seemed like it was just pushed to the side. I'm posting it here hoping maybe someone likes it.
