Favorite RP moments?

I have a lot of memorable moments in roleplay, almost exclusively revolving around Athera. I'll separate them by spoiler...

 

Romantic turmoil...

There was a lot of turmoil in Athera between my character and his (first and likely last) lover. Though everything started off fine, his partner was corrupted by Lord Knox shortly into the beginning of their relationship. Knox slowly started to turn him against his own humanity, and practically possessed him into committing heinous acts of murder, torture, etc. to both traumatize him and inflict this feeling of self-depreciation and lack of worth.

 

It created a very interesting conflict between our characters, where he would despair over whether it were safer to exit the relationship altogether. It became a question of sacrificing our love for my security, even if it came at the cost of himself in the process (since he knew there would be no easy excuse out of the relationship without some type of violence ensuing), or letting the relationship blossom (and eventually wither away at his hands or Knox, resulting in my character's inevitable death). 

 

The conclusion to this relationship was grim, and shaped plenty of roleplay in the future fueled by a bitter rivalry and mystery surrounding the conditions of that breakup, which never quite became evident to my character. It desensitized him.

Another interesting bit of roleplay involved the Iron Uzg in Athera, where I was captured briefly as a slave. After failing to manipulate a cub over the course of an hour, I earned enough favor from the Orcs to warrant my freedom if I could prove myself capable in the arena. After teaming up with a long-time friend ICly to get an edge on the competition (also enslaved at the time), I stabbed him when he least expected it at the end of the fight (after telling him we'd escape the Uzg together after the fight) in order to claim victory and ensure my safe departure from the Uzg.

There was also a time in Athera where I logged on LotC and took my routine walk to the Silver Cup tavern (or whatever the quartz, Helven one was across from the Scarlet Lotus), only to see a fair portion of my town being senselessly slaughtered by our own 'allies'. I intervened (which I later found out the reason to be a lie fabricated OOCly for the sake of having 'casus belli' to attack my people for fun) and ended up spending two solid hours back home performing constant medical roleplay to stabilize those that could be saved. 

 

Just... ouch...

Another time I had my lip cut with a blade, and cauterized shortly thereafter, and as a result I didn't 'pronounce' any sounds or letters that would require me to move my lips together. The text was very amusing, and continued well into a few days before the elder monk restored my flesh to its not-so-singed form.

Though I had no military (or guard) to boast of in Athera in my little town, I remember a time the Orcs were threatening our borders with a settlement between the Wilderness fast travel and my land (which was the only shortcut from Cloud Temple to our home). Without needing so much as a request on behalf of my people, all of those available got online and geared themselves up as readily as possible, marching with me to the camp and confronting the potential settlers stating they were not welcome, and would be evicted by force if they staked their claim. To me this was the ultimate example of a successful community both IC and OOC, which worked almost like a hive mind with concern for each other prioritized over ourselves as individuals. It was a very, very touching moment that I often reflect on ICly. 

 

There are many more, but I've wasted enough of my time and whoever has the patience to read this. I miss Athera...

Hands down the Felsen coup for overall favorite RP moment, personally it would be my character being granted a county, to fianlly accomplish what I wanted to.

I agree, It was honestly one of the best RPs ive been apart of, struggling to keep safe in the tavern as people were being executed, the whole thing was very well done.

I do think I would give it to Amipher, my golem. That once tried to convince someone that she was it's mother and then was taught how to plant grass. 

Or when Amipher engaged in combat with the Shovel Knight, guy had 5 golden shovels or so, 3 of them broke, 2 was stolen by a Amipher and the Shovel Knight was left alive to tell the tale.

I'd say my time at the Library of Dragur is currently making a lot of great RP moments. Other times where I had some neat RP was when I'd get arrested at Haelun'or back in Vailor or the Blackwood Company related RP in early Vailor.  I've had a lot of great RP moments from anytime, really. But I'd rather not spend a while to type them all down.

the best RP moments for me were the times when I played Jerrik Marbrand, who was the second son of a prestigious father who died with most of his other family. Jerrik was left with his older sister, and they were forced to attempt at survival within the dangerous political world Oren was at the time. It was so great, as Jerrik and Lopkaea endured so much deep character development, and grew as people. MarinaEmily & EternalSaturn truly made that RP so beautiful, so rich, it was amazing.

Again, after I was given the task of restoring House Ruthern and Erochland to activity, the best RP I had on the server was having Maric Ruthern and his children interact. He had a cruel and bitter wife, and the beautiful and twisted interactions we had with the lady wife and the bastard son, it was just awesome. The simple sparring in the courtyard made me happy, and our times of noble family rp was beautiful. Thank you marquisee, RideTheSky, LumbaJack, Corvoo, marinaemily, preliatorII, Corinatha, for all that.

I good one would be when I first joined, new my character had to escape slavery by jumping off a cliff (into water) with barely any knowledge of LoTC. Good times.

For my frost witch, Mabel, I must say that the progress through her curse must've been something I've never done before. The character development that she experienced was significant, and I'm really glad that I can be apart in this villainy roleplay as a frost witch. She had some pretty great scenarios, including a blood bath that she caused and the time where she casually waltzed out the Imperial Palace, unharmed, after being caught and captured by guards. ty ty ty @Eileen The Crow for giving me the opportunity to become one, and a really big thank you for all the people who made the experience great so far! :')

 

For my High Elf, Iaria Elervathar, I must say that I generally like the situations where she gets herself into. I've been playing her since she was six and encountered an elaborate character development that I really enjoyed so far. Although if I had to pick a favorite moment, then I'd probably go for the period where Iaria was so relentless as a child, oblivious from the world outside the thick walls of Haelun'or until she finally went out to thoroughly explore. @Sir K Andruske , @#Flexave , @Tahmas, @Parion and @Chris (Acaele) were the few who actively helped me to develop my character, although I'm really thankful for those who I encountered in roleplay as well!!

In Vailor, I remember the first time I got into laureh'lin. (Back in those times where guards weren't around anywhere.) It was such a minor thing, though I was so excited for that mere bit of roleplay, and the parts that came before it. That being said, all of that rp was very poor on my end; these were the first few days for me, and I didn't really understand the basics of logic.

 

Then, there was sprite roleplay. I've done it for about a month, until it became stale because the roleplay was repeating itself.

 

And now, I'm just chilling while awaiting the discovery of another fun aspect in roleplay. Started to do orc rp, but it seems a bit hard with my timezone.

Not going by chronological order, I:

 

Had a heart-to-heart, man-to-man chat on how dark elves are scientifically the most disgusting race to have ever existed.

 

Founded a hyper-edgy group to genocide the Harbingers.

 

Co-discovered the gate that lead to the Fringe.

 

Helped evacuate elves from the reach of Vandoria's genocidal wrath.

 

Campaigned for a mexican mayor candidate so that he can build a wall around Felsen and deport all resident Khas from Oren.

 

Cucked my own sister and Haadi simultaneously.

 

Got cucked by a red-eyed blue haired purple ninja robed man.

 

Got talked out of suicide by a necromancer.

 

Got kicked out of a military order for roasting my superior.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it's really nice to read through examples of RP that others found particularly enjoyable. It's a testament to how much we cater to, as a community and a fictional world. Keep 'em coming!

I think I did one of these a few months back but I'll go ahead and write my memories anyway since times have changed.

 

When I joined up with Hallowvale I wasn't sure what I was expecting. The group had such rich characters and deep lore. Now I may get hate or love for Hallowvale but I wouldn't change joining. Our "hunts" and training definitely were things that genuinely changed my character. There was this one session where there was a 2v2 RP fight that ended up leading to 4v4 fight due to some of our dummy friends joining and it came down to us all in the infirmary after nearly killing each other. We had to get a medic and everyone just acted normal- except some RP I did with another person but yeah. 

 

Theres a few other times where where I had really good RP going on, Marchands, Blackwood, random bits of Vailor, and now on Axios. There's honestly to many moments too say them all. Shout out to UnBaed, NJBB, Zhulik, Shady, Kincaid, Shannon, Arteh, TankM1A2 and so many more that it'd be obscured to name them all.

All the courlandic RP was either hilarious or really good- and the ensuing war against the Northern Coalition was pretty gud.
