They're an independent guild plot that was there before we expanded. Had long talks with admins about this stuff when people decided to start dropping guild plots in lands you had intentions of buying.

The Orc settlement by Sutica is mostly the shamans. The Orc settlement they're talking about is where most of the other non-whitewashes are. So people who were around for Vailor, however at this point quite a few of the characters that contributed to that have died.

 

 

As for the topic on hand, I am slightly annoyed at what has been happening to Orcs lately. 

I don't have a problem with Oren having a problem with us from an RP perspective. It makes sense. I'd hate us, too, if most of the interaction I had with Orcs was them coming to steal your wives and valuables. 

I don't have a problem with racism in game. I enjoy it a bit, honestly. Don't enjoy the getting killed part as much, usually because I'm in the middle of trying to do something at the time, but that's my problem, not theirs.

What I DO have a problem with, though, is that our community and player base is dwindling. And some would argue that people are intentionally trying to make Orcs seem like a bad idea to play. I think there might be some credence to that theory in some way, and there are certainly a lot of things that people have done, intentionally or not, to give Orcs the hardest time possible. I mean no disrespect toward Jonificus, he is a great guy and the person that got me to join this server, but take, for example, the ivory collecting act or whatever it was called, where people would get paid for the tusks of Orcs. I don't have a problem with that from an RP perspective. I think it makes sense, and I think in a different scenario, it might have worked. But the reason I have a problem with it is twofold. First, the numbers on the sides are so lopsided. If you went to the Orcish capital at most times of the day with 4 buddies of yours, you could probably find a sole Orc. Second, that closes up an insanely large amount of the map for people who will try to roleplay in other places. And if they do go to Oren, where 60% of the roleplay is going to be happening, they'll risk getting killed by a metasquad brigade of wandering militiamen. 

With all that in mind, why would you want to play an Orc? It just doesn't sound like fun, right?

Stop sending orcs from Azaghol to fight in war claims against Oren. From an ic perspective you can't expect people not to notice that the enemy combatants included orcs, and there are only two places where they could have come from. I'm not sure if its due to the current orcish leadership being unable to control the grunts, but it would have made sense not to send them to fight against Oren.

   The only current wargoths who were wargoths during that time are Lukra'Braduk  and my character, Malog'Yar, and they weren't involved in the spread of Orgon's plague at all. In fact, Malog tried to warn the Rex of the potential risks of the plague, and both Lukra and her predecessor were very much against it. So, no. Not a single one of the current wargoths were part of that. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure most of the current orc characters in general were involved in it.

I'm pretty sure it was the wood elves who declared war against the Snow elves... not Oren.  Oren would have taken the position of an ally responding to a call for arms.

Quite the leap there, friend. Surprisingly enough I don't like Nazi Germany and your notion that I do is quite laughable and disrespectful considering my family history.

 

Life's not fair, and neither is LotC. If you want to bring down the Imperium then think of other ways than war (as you have never been very successfull on that front). The enemy at the gates isn't always the most dangerous one.

tl;dr?

Either stop being human-sacrificing slave-trading raiders as a core part of your culture, or expect that people will continue to attack you. You cant have both.

 

Now for the long version,

 

I do sympathize with groups who just want to RP in peace without being stomped on, contrary to popular belief.

 

Thing is, regarding the orcs specifically,

 

What do they do when left alone? They raid, they enslave people, they kidnap people on roads and generally cause this sort of trouble. These things are literally a core part of their culture and you can't argue with me about that.

 

So, the argument that they're innocent refugees getting stomped on by a big bad empire doesn't fly, because these orcs that oren is attacking helped fight Oren against the snow elves, they've come into the dominion to try to kidnap our guys, gone into Jburg and cause general trouble, etc.

 

If you want peace with Oren, and actually want to RP in peace (instead of just wanting to be able to raid/kidnap/slave without retribution, which is honestly what I see in this), then I suggest you put forth the following terms of peace:

 

1) Abolishment of slavery among all orcs

 

2) Agree to stay out of the Empire

 

3) Agree never to help enemies of the Empire

 

If you do that, you stand a chance of of being left alone. However, if you continue to practice slavery, cause general trouble on the roads, and aid Oren's enemies, then naturally Oren will continue to aggress on you, and rightfully so.

 

Of course, I cant dictate what you do in RP, so it's up to you.

As a Orener I believe we are destroying the orcish player base to the ground and making sure their race stays eternally screwed, we have the rp reasons to do this but it kinda feels like we're picking on the smaller races and nations to satisfy our amusement and lust for more land even though, we probably at this point have more land than the Mongol empire.

They might be a big nation but they don't have the capacity or potential to completely wipe out a race as long as people still enjoying playing said race, which can be seen with the Orcs. At this stage Oren is just an inconvenience you have to deal with every now and again.
