Greetings, I'm curious to find how the opinions of the forum community on effective moderation. I've complied a few questions that I feel can be insightful in maybe a good way to go through the real necessary process of moderation.

This is no way linked to the FM team nor was it created in order to spite them. It's simply a thread to gather community opinions, but if it goes towards improved relations and effectiveness I would be happy.

Just now, Jaeden said:

I've expressed my opinions to @LadyRebecca, who's passed on the advice to the team. Though I think my only complaints regarding forum moderation has to do with the inconsistency in both warns & post removal.

Take for example, a post of mine was removed off a ban report due to my name not being on there. I was given a warn over it (no points fortunately), despite offering rather helpful advice so that it's easier on the GM & players involved.

Yet I then look at status updates, and there was one with a gyazo sitting there. On the gyazo, it featured a variety of colourful language, along with many discriminatory slurs. Yet it took upwards of five+ hours for the post to be removed, and I don't think a warn was handed out for it.

I don't think it was a case of 'bias!!' or any of that; I purely think it's just inconsistency within the FM conduct.

Will add some stuff on posts and threads, that slipped my mind

I like how lenient they are now. I remember I got 4 warnings for 2 trolly threads when some people would post them daily and never get any. I don't want to go back to that bullshit at all. When you try to be strict, you're always gonna end up being more lenient on your friends, so better just to be lenient to everyone.

I think there should be many warns and points given especially to RP posts that are clearly trolls or OOC, yet if in OOC threads trolling posts and 'shitposting' shouldn't really be as much problem, though it depends on the situation. If in an rp post people start saying the normal "Peasant says" which basically is a troll/shitpost, remove it. If you're reading through rp responces and then a "Cancer" shows up out of nowhere, or a "Meme", etc., remove it and warn the player. It's almost impossible to read rp posts right now without having troll/non rp posts every 4 posts.

In OOC posts I don't care as much, though in like feedback threads it would be good to not have trolly posts as well.

On the other hand, if a troll post is like... very good, don't remove it. It's always nice to have a very good troll post even in rp threads.

Edit: Also your questions... why?

At how many warning points does it deter you from contraversial content

Controversial content should NOT receive warning points, TROLLY should.

Warns are almost never necessary.

OOC shitposts in RP threads should be deleted, though.
