The remaining were mostly elves, though with an increase in orcs and dwarfs. Halflings lost a bit of popularity this month, it would seem. It appears that no dwarf applied as the forest dwarf subtype, while the other subtypes were evenly distributed. Surprisingly, many orc applicants entered the server as ologs (25%) and a couple as goblins too. Half of the accepted elves entered as Wood Elves, while the rest were distributed evenly between the other subtypes and no subtype at all. The majority of accepted Humans were not reportedly of a specific subtype, and Highlanders were the most popular of the three subtypes. Figure a1. Accepted applicant distribution by race (n=147). A nice 169 of these were accepted into the server, the majority being accepted without first being placed in pending - which is a great improvement. Few applicants were denied after being placed in pending. Figure b. Distribution of application results (n=255). Following the introduction of the time zone data, we now have a full month’s worth (be aware that it is not a condition of acceptance thus the data is only for 143 accepted applicants). As expected, the grand majority of applicants hailed from the American time zones. More than a quarter were from the European time zones and less than 10% from the Austral-asian time zones. Figure c. Team Data As the team size was of 10 non-managerial members this month, the quota was set at 6% to ensure at least 60% of applications were covered by quota. As can be seen, the team members with the most contributions were Vaynth and Jandy (again). However, there is concern that some team members are not doing their due - as Vaynth and Jandy would leave applications sitting for a couple hours to give team members a chance. Figure d. Hedgehug, having exams this past month, has been warned for inactivity - and has left the team on his own accord. Unfortunately, Grimmothy decided to take their leave this month as they did not believe they were performing to the best of their abilities any longer. Kry and Pumpkin will be asked to step down as well, due to a repeated poor performance. They are invited to re-apply whenever they are once again active. We also say goodbye to Parion, who has left for personal reasons. Team Projects First up, it is to my delight to announce that my project from a few months ago to renovate and build a new fully fledged tutorial island (a la Runescape) has seen progress. Please thank ET Builder and now Trial GM Angmarzku for taking upon the task of building the island. Fireheart’s project to direct new players towards existing settlements and towns when accepted did not reach full potential and has gone back into development. Vaynth, Parion and Jandy have joined in the effort to bring this potentially helpful project forwards. If you wish to help new players, and are part of a settlement - please visit the thread here. Unfortunately there is no player retention data this month either. I have decided to return to doing it myself as the outsourcing has not been able to keep up with the schedule set up for them. Due to my hiatus in January, I was unable to do it myself. I am planning a reform for the position of AT Manager (more on this in a later update). There have been many concerns raised about inactivity and the lack of projects pushed forwards - for the time being, Leslie will be taking the position of interior manager (taking on a group of team members for guidance). Due to the removals, we will be picking people from the shortlisted group of applications and shortlisting a new batch, to join the application team!
