Welcome to the Westerlands, the frontline on the unending war with the forces of the Undead. As the Westerlands, we’re a primarily Human nation but are willing to take in players of most races assuming they can meet the In-RP cultural standards. The nation is largely a warrior nation with a focus on events and military roleplay. That said, absolutely nothing keeps players from making this their home and partaking in merchant, scholarly or family RP. For those wishing to partake in more spiritual RP, the Lectors of Owyn are open to recruitment following the necessary training and education.

How to Fill Roles within the Westerlands:

Warrior / Soldier / Guardsmen / Adventurer

The Westerlands military, which can be found HERE offers militant RP and events for those interested in conflict and adventure RP.

Cook / Barkeep / Merchant

The Cantina, which acts as a ‘Passive RP’ hub for the visitors of the city may be hiring and where that fails, nothing keeps players from purchasing a home or stall to act as a vending point for their goods!

Scholar / Librarian / Scribe

The Westerlands is more than willing to accommodate anyone capable of filling these roles. We would simply need a piece from yourself showing your talents and what you intend to do for the Nation.

Anyone wishing to join an already established group focused on Astrology, they should point inquiries HERE.

Mages

Given the fact that this requires extra applications and an understanding of a secondary system, we’d urge you, as a new player, to get slightly more adjusted to how the environment works before reaching out to learn this form of RP.

Our Stance on new Nobility and Royalty

We are NOT looking for new members of Royalty at this time.

Nobility is not something a new player can, at least in the Westerlands, instantly walk in as. Anyone wishing to join the ranks of the noble must, over the span of several weeks or months even, maintain a constant presence and give considerable contributions to the nation. Not in the form of items or in game currency but in the form of RP, recruitment and general assistance. If you wish to be stand out, you must take the efforts to be stand out.

Getting Started

1 - The Westerlands is a very cold place. As such, the first thing I’d urge doing is getting an appropriate medieval themed skin suited to the environment. Skimpy or revealing clothing is not only frowned upon by the In-Character culture, it makes no sense given the environment.

2 - Make a character, if you have not already, fit to the theme of the area and your interested role. The Westerlands serves as a frontline to the undead war, perhaps you’ve come to study what caused the uprising? Maybe you’re here to get retribution? Maybe you’re just a holy man or woman and you feel it is your duty to purge what is blatantly an unholy blight upon the lands.
As much as the jolly cheese merchant would be accepted, it’s not exactly logical.

I would suggest reading the following thread to assist you in making a more relevant / correct character to the environment and as a means of knowing a bit of the IC situation.

3 - Read a few guides, if you have not already, on how the server works in regards to mechanics and skills. As much as we’re a minecraft server, our server uses a crafting system close to that of Ark, Rust or Reign of Kings with an RPG blend. The quality of your items will increase with your skill level.

As a bare minimum, I would suggest the following:

4 - Start the walk on over. You will spawn in the cloud temple.

Take your time and explore the server spawn. It gives some insight on how things work. Once you’ve taken the time to look around or have simply had your fill, head on down to the boats. Board the one labeled for human. After standing around long enough for the bar to fill, you will be teleported to the cart hub of the humans.

Head onto the cart labeled Westerlands.

From there, hang a right and cross the drawbridge.

Take this time to explore the Westerland’s city of Bastion. Take in the RP environment, get to know some folks and perhaps consider settling down. If you need any help with anything feel absolutely free to send messages to the following people. We do, however, ask that you be patient. We sometimes have our hands full with RP, getting someone else adjusted or prior engagements.
