Seige of the Athera dwarf city when it was controlled by the undead. Having to get across that god awful bridge, avoid traps once you were over it, dodge arrow fire from the gate, or scale the back side of the mountain if you had the patience was one of my favorites because it was a great display of how defense should be in a wc.
