Piov 2643 Share Posted May 15, 2017 A Crow Flies No More The funeral procession of King Marius I. 15th of the Sun’s Smile, 1611 The dew of the early dawn cascaded the streets of Mardon. The church bells tolled at the signaling of the first mass and the quiet haven slowly abated with the opening of shops and the early rounds of farmers and herders along the outskirts. The man walked out, taking in the sight with a moment of profound sentiment. The bloody rags from his violent coughs covered his bed, a prolific sight as he rose from his respite. He peered out into the distance, grabbing his fishing line and bucket in the corner, resolute and ready for another day at sea. The gleaming waters reflect the rays of the illuminating horizon off the shores of Mardon. The young man sat in contemplation, casting his line into the sea awaiting for a fruitful catch. He looked out onto the open waters, leaving the busy world behind him, taking in the rare instant of tranquility of this very moment. Realizing his line was fidgeting within his hands, he grasped tightly to take hold of this catch. He reeled in the line hastily, euphoric at the prospect of a successful day at sea. However, the elusive creature escaped the man’s hold... Marius I of Haense, b.1584 d.1611 King of Hanseti and Ruska 1586 - 1611

cj_scout 305 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Leonhard stands solemnly as the late King's funeral procession passes by on the streets of Mardon, nothing more than a reminiscent frown set upon his face. His gaze drops towards the stones of the street, and he shakes his head in some mixture of disbelief and sadness. As the casket passes, he signs a cross on his chest, and his determined eyes rest on the line of men in front of him. Quietly, though to no one at all, he speaks the same words he spoke a decade ago in his departure from Karlsburg. "Ave Marius. Ave Haense."

bromadan 368 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Owyn Amador sat silently, hearing the news of once his friend and King dying. He was saddened, struck deeply with sorrow as he recalled when he grew up in Saint Karlsburg beside Marius, remembering the day perfectly when he swore his oaths to him personally. "I am sorry I couldn't be with you friend.." He muttered quietly, covering his face with his worn hands.

GloriaPreussens 798 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Ser Frederick would ride through the hills of the North, to the ashes of what was once Karlsburg, planting a sword in the frostbitten earth as he dismounted his warhorse, bitter tears wept for the truest King that ever lived, his people who called him King when he held no Realm, who suffered and toiled beside them, a man more fitting to rule there had never been, and likely never would exist again. The Knight would kneel in the snow, shutting his eyes and saying a quiet prayer before looking up, "Blood for Marius," he would whisper, a quiet oath before GOD.
