We Do Not Bend

I, Avalon Silversteed, Lord of House Silversteed, by the power vested in me by Javier Ruric, the man I swore my life and house to, I hereby issue the following decree.

 

To begin I shall start with the stripping of title and name. As Lord of House Silversteed under Javier Ruric, I hereby revoke the name Silversteed from my grandson William. I revoke his right to title, to land, to holding and to my armies. I revoke his title both in pen and by blood, and from this day till his last, he is no longer my grandson, nor related to me. In addition, William was never a legitimate grandson of mine. William is the son of Ethan Silversteed, who was a lad I adopted long ago and gave to the title of Silversteed. I therefore by every right, strip William of the family name Silversteed, and state that he shall never hold it again.

I also strip my adopted cousin, Atturi, of the name Silversteed. He is related to none of my line, nor is he related to me directly. He was gifted the title Silversteed and I adopted him into the family as a cousin. Therefore, I hold my right to strip him of his name, the same as I do to William. I take this action not out of spite, but out of security. My family, my people, they are what keep me going, and I shall not jeopardize them for anything. 

 

As I write this decree I still serve the lord Javier Ruric, as I shall do until he relinquishes me from my oath. It has been the tradition of my house and my name, a tradition set by Thomas Ruric himself, that I not swear allegiance to Norland as a whole, but that I renew my oath to each new king of Norland should they be a true Ruric. Times have changed, and with the upheaval of the kingdom, I cannot bring myself to renew my oath to neither Jory Ash nor Jevan Ruric. Neither are ready to rule, and from what I have seen, both are eager to bend the knee to Renatus, a decision which I cannot support. Norland earned it's freedom and stood as a beacon of liberty. It was known as the heart of the free peoples. Who are we if we are not free?

 

Finally, I take my last action as a Norlander. I, Avalon Silversteed, hereby release all title, and all claim to land or keep, that I ever held or am owed under the Kingdom of Norland. I relinquish my citizenship as a Norlander. I shall not set foot in Norland unless a peaceful need arise, or his majesty Javier Ruric summon me. I shall honor the only oath I took, the oath to serve Javier Ruric directly, not his kin, not his family. When I was knighted I yet again swore only one oath, to Javier Ruric, and none else. I pray the All Father Javier's time does not end swiftly, for it shall be a black day indeed when his skin becomes cold to the touch. Long live Javier Ruric, the unbroken.

 

To the people of Norland. Many of you have already made your choice. Many of you have chosen not to bend the knee, some of you have chosen to stay. To those who stay I wish you the best of luck, and no ill will. I have fought beside each and every one of you, and therefore can only wish the best for you all. However, heed my warning. Any who attempt to harm those who have chosen to follow me, will be cut down. Any who so much as breath foul intent against my people, shall have their heads separated from their miserable shoulders. I am bound by no oath to not harm anyone, except for his majesty Javier, and therefore I shall not hesitate to deal fatal blows. Myself and my kin shall live out in peace, and I look forward to open diplomacy between us all, and I pray the All Father guides Norland out of it's time of darkness.

(( I would request this section is removed as you have no substantial RP evidence to warrant removing Anisgar's shelved character from your bloodline. Claiming that he is illegitimate is simple hearsay as he was previously recognized as a Silversteed and did nothing in RP to cause Avalon to revoke his legitimacy. This is blatant metagaming and denying such is without merit. For all you know, Anisgar's Silversteed is still loyal to the house. It is clear that you removed these two in RP because of their OOC standpoints on the issue. You have taken many RP conflicts into OOC as of late and it is becoming a nuisance to many of our players. If you are going to take this aggression into OOC then that is your problem. However, I would urge you to avoid taking that OOC aggression or knowledge obtained through TeamSpeak/Discord into an RP situation.
