Ct Tavern maybe?

So recently, while I was high, I was thinking about how cool tavern RP is. So now I be thinking, next map is coming out soon, maybe we could get a CT tavern going again? 

Wouldn’t it be crazy if like... a Kharajyr owned the tavern? Cause I think that’d like be epic...

What if his name was also like... Xinan?!?!?

Some Pros:

  1. A space for new players to get a safe and secure first RP experience
  2. An area for experienced players to find new players to take under their wings
  3. A place for already established players to advertise their groups
  4. A notice board with several uses, one of which will be advertising to help spread news irply making for more informed personas. (I think this should be added either way)

 

People already hang around CT doing nothing anyways, might as well get some RP going. There was a CT tavern around before that I am too knew to know, but I’ve been told it was good.

 

 

Some Ideas:

  1. Maybe have an Inn for RP purposes.
  2. Drunk Monks
  3. Neutral grounds for political parties to meet.

+1 I think the tavern at CT would be very good. If it is run by a player who knows their information to be able to help out new and experience players with the help information. It would also take a lot of pressure off of staffs back from /creq

heard a whole lot of complain how CT shouldn't be a rp hub etc etc, but i must agree with this since most of the times new players might feel lost out there, it would be cool, sure +1

Na, having a oocly protected hive of degenerate rp is not good. It will just be a bunch of cringe rp that no one can stop.

I remember the whole pet ghoul fiasco, never again. People shouldn't be able to, for example, become wanted in a nation then simply move to ct and never leave to avoid possible punishments.

ITT: People who are new enough to LotC to not know the horrors of CT roleplay

 

CT rp should already be banned. No, please god no. Back in Vailor, CT was an exceptionally small area that contained a bunch of ships and some carts that led off to other nations. Somehow, it managed to become an RP hub, where no one could get hurt, nothing bad could happen to you, and all it did was steal RP from nations and other settlements, while holding the hands of new and old players alike. CT rp got so bad, that they had to make an entirely separate spawn just for undead and spooks because interactions between villains and civilians were getting out of hand. Additionally, it created a sort of weird limbo space for incoming players which set unrealistic ideals. I was there for the gizzy gaza riots. I saw what came of it... shudder

 

The rest of the server is unforgiving and brutal. New players should not be treated to happy-rainbow-fun times where no one gets hurt and nothing bad happens to you. It’s not realistic, it’s not helpful, it lowers the bar for what’s expected of you and the overall roleplay standards on the rest of the server. I am sure there are plenty of spaces out there where you can have goofy fun drunk rp. Cloud Temple should not ever be a place for extended roleplay.

CT RP is hugbox flavourless interaction that takes place without contributing to any nation or settlement, detracting from cultural development and nullifying the potential for character progression thanks to a complete absence of risk.

 

You think you want it, but you don’t. There’s a reason why all the negative responses on this thread are from older players: we’ve seen this before.

LOL Llyria 2 but with extra conflict protection.

EDIT: If new players are lost, CT should be guiding them more. Of course none of you are around every twenty-four hours of the day, but when there’s a new player around, really make an effort to guide them. Like many others have said, allowing players to just hide where there’s no conflict or worries will just lower the bar for roleplay standard. Don’t introduce players to an environment which doesn’t really exist on the server.

While I understand and respect the motivations here, I think it’s important we don't develop CT as an RP hub because ultimately it’s artificial. There's no conflict, no stakes, little room for creativity and pursuit of ambitions for your character that makes our server uniqu and enjoyable. CT would constitute a slice-of--life hub which, while it has it’s place, needs to be kept in balance with the rest of RP that we facilitate. I think it's much more sensible for a server-health point of view to bring new players to nations to avoid developing an artificial CT hub and instead get them involved in actual playerbases and communities.
