The sounds of clunking armor filled the Arvellon home in Talus Grove. The Three Arvellon’s Becclain, Renae, and Syllia preparing for what seemed like war. The trio dressed from head to toe in Druidic armor with weapons at the ready.

The quiet whispers of plants quietly humming in the wind engulfed the trio. An uneasy tone filling the harmonic symphonies nature cast over the area. The three remained still with each moment leaving them.

“Are you ready lari’onnan?” Becclain plainly states, his orbs tracing between the two. A simple uneasy hum emitting from his throat. Gently placing his hands on the shoulders of his sisters, a somber tone filling the lands as the group knew well that many were going to be lost. His hands sifting through his satchel to withdraw a small container holding orange-red fascial paint.

“Ti.” Renae bobbed her head, gently pulling her hair back, grabbing a small amount of paint sliding her fingers across her face.

Though, Syllia’s thoughts wondered, an uncanny melodie filled with a detrimental overtone. “May Malin’s blessings guide us.” She too bobbed her head moments after Renae. Her eyes bounced around the area, placing the ends of her fingers into the paint canister. Smearing fang-like paints across the bridge of her nose, onto her cheeks.

Finally, Becclain withdrew his hand, taking a small dagger from his pouch. With the simple swipe of his hand, blood drips from his palm into the container. Taking the final paints from it he withdrew the concoction of blood and paint, smearing it across his face just as his sisters did.

“We shall be off then.” The Hummingbird Druid states, clasping his hands together before quickly pacing off, his sisters following quickly behind him.

The three made a small detour into the grove before finally pulling themself from the group, ending their trip at the Al-Faiz camp the pupils of Atlas had so harshly fought for each blood soaked inch.

Moments after the welcoming of the remaining Druii, they joined them to do a pre-battle prayer.

Nivindil led the prayer, the dreich lines of the ancient tongue Mali’ have been speaking since being cursed by Ibleese.

Oh Maln, il’kae ito llythera.

erneh kae’leh ihnsil orne lomereh,

kae’leh mahnihii oerne parioeh,

kaeleh’ehya hiylun orne ullreh.

il’cerun kae ahera,

il’Sirame kae ahera,

il’taliiyna kae ahera.

A silent tone filled the air, stiff moments lingered over the gathering before finally shouting “Bless me with Blood!” At that moment, the battle began. The blood soaked fields becoming the depressive fields Descendants could now recognize as the hellish Inferni camp. A certain march to the death for some. For others; The beginning of a battle that shall fill the mouths for generations to come.

With the words of Nivndil instructing the young Druid group known as ‘The Ducklings’ to take charge of a mobile cannon. They finally set off, one of the trio would meet the beginning of their downfall; a final conquest to defeat the invaders of this realm.

The thunderous sounds of cannons filled the deserts of Korvassa, near the Athalian Mountain range. After many hard fought hours which stained the grounds with blood spilled, entry points were created. The steady pace past the corpses of their brethren into the camp. A horrid show indeed.

The allied levies, a sight of which only blessed the eyes of a small population every hundred years or so, came to find themself in a… less than pleasant situation. The thunderous sounds that had bewitched the valley have awoken the swarm. A not easily contested force which proved themself more than complex to deal with. The descendants began to rush towards the wall to tame a beast for their usage against the Inferni. In a desperate attempt to plug the holes which they created, the waves came to the bottom of a tower. Attempting to topple it over but yet, it remained.

The archers took hand, raising their bows; launching volleys of arrows, striking down a large portion of the hivemind creatures. Though not all perished, breaking through the ranks, raining acid among the battalions that were taking the camp by force.

In an attempt to strike down the Deer Druid, Dwyn. Acid began ravishing the three Ducklings. Melting through their Arvellon decorated Shields, Renae and Syllia met the lower end of the deal. Acid quickly climbing onto their skin.

“Syllia!” Becclain exclaimed, the burning sensation quickly enticing my body. Lifting me from the ground I was quickly leaned against the wall with my closest friend and family, Renae. Becclain and Vex tended to me and her, though each moment I could feel the grasp I had on this realm fading. Streams of tears coming from my eyes as Becclain shielded me.

Giving me moments to recover, I finally found the dwindling strength within me to ready myself for battle again. Charging forth to what felt like the end, I could only think of my family. I felt as if their world was resting on my shoulder. The innocence of my children hopefully remaining intact at the end of this bloodshed.

We fought off the swarm to the few that remained. Marking the ending of the battle, yet it was not over for some. Our battle still continues even past the horrid sites we painfully observed.

The last of the swarm took aim at my Lari’onn, Seraphina. Her quick and nimble response to the swift aim of the swarm beings saved her. I could feel the burning sensation come across my body again. Attempting to call for help yet nothing came. Looking to my left I see my Mal’onn fall. I didn’t realize but the acid that was aimed for my sister came to us, marking us with the scent of death lingering near. My eyes instantly swapped to the right of me, watching my Lari’onn fall as well. I couldn’t hold myself any further. Collapsing onto the ground as I felt the metal of my armor fusing to my skull.

A sensation I have never experienced before only coming to me which I could explain as the falling of the constellations; the stars collapsing atop of me. My vision narrowed, the dark abyss coming near. The dreaded feeling I hoped to never feel while my oem’ii were still young had finally greeted me with an agonizing grip.

Turning my head to meet the gaze of my Lari’onn on the blood soaked fields. I could feel the searing pain coming throughout my body. Grasping my words to hum “Always and forever, Lari’onn.” Tears slipping from my eyelids, I quickly found myself lifted from the ground and onto Seraphina’s shoulder. Stars coming to my vision before quickly slipping into this undetermined realm.

My Young Girl,

Haelun has gone out on a small expedition with your marmal’onn and your marlari’onnan. There is never a guarantee that I will be back. I have full intentions of coming home to you, your brother, and your sister. In the case, I don’t. Please know that I will love you forever my little Raven. ~Note to The Ducklings~

  Ducklings,

My mal’onnan and lari’onnan… I love you all so much. You are my family, my friends, my forever home. Each of you have played a special role in my life.

Starting with Renae... you are my best friend. The first one of the ducklings I met...well you and Beccy. Of the five you are the one I had the strongest connection with. I never told you, but you were my first love. I still love you just not as I did and I will love you forever, even in my final resting place. You were always there for me, even after our biggest downfalls.

Becclain, my sweet mal’onn… I met you alongside Renae. My two little trouble makers, wanting to become druids but were put on probation. I was told to stay away from you two, but something in my heart only pulled me closer. I am glad that I followed my heart when it came to you guys… I got the best family I could have ever asked for, forty-something years of wishing for the family I never had.

Seraphina you are next, you and I met in the silence of Talus. No one else was around… You made me smile with every flirt you said to me. You tried so hard and got so far, but you met the perfect one for you, let Ven know that I love her.

Melephor I know that you and I didn’t share many memories, but you are still my mal’onn regardless. We shared a dedicancy and a few laughs.

Xodorin… listen here you little ****, you better watch after my kid. He looks up to his uncle Xoey. He is going to need you and Abelas trust me, please calm him. I should be honest, ti… I didn’t like you when we first met, but you grew on me in time. You helped me with some of my biggest struggles and I thank you for that.

Always and Forever Ducklings… your favorite Syllia Evar’maehr-Arvellon

~Note to my Haelun and Maln~

Ducks,

The only thing I wish to say to you is thank you. You guided me to many of my successes, gave me the family I always wished for, and kept me safe. You are both ready to fight for either of us ducklings and we know you love us. I love you so much Raven and Wildcat. -Your malii’lari, Syllia Evar'maehr-Arvellon

After all that has happened upon this day Renae Arvellon would be sitting within her home upon the Mother Grove lands within the kitchen. The woman on the floor crying screaming inside of her home. "No! Not yet... Why take her!? My First Love, My best friend... My Sister." She'd say looking up from the wooden floor of her home to nowhere in particular now going silent. "I-... Always and Forever." She'd state softly as she continued to to weep for her fallen sister. The druidess would then bawl her right hand into a fist slamming it into the floor around four times. The 'thill's hands beginning to bleed slightly. Now as she did this she would move to lift her head up from looking down, going to move over to rest her back upon the wooden walls of the home pulling her knees closer to her face before whispering. "Always and Forever". The druidess would now continuing to weep for the fallen.

The Phoenix druid's mind fills with sorrow as she feels nature morn, and when she finds the letter left to her, tears stream down her face as she grits her teeth, the sound of hammer crashing through stone, and the metal ringing of something large banging across a floor could be heard from her home, loud cursing leaves her mouth as The Phoenix Druid Seraphina Arvellon storms away from the grove, body ridged and her eyes flickering with a fire like glow as she grips a metal trident, heading of to the Queens Isles and disappearing within the jungle with a roar of anger and sadness as she goes to hunt in her sister's name.

The Hummingbird Druid suddenly came to a stop at the entrance of the Seed Hall in the Glade of Siramenor, his mind began to fill with unease, sadness, and then anger. The melody of nature around him slowly dwindling down as it became silent, nature began mourning for a fallen Druid... Becclain would have felt a strong pain as he dropped to the floor, falling to a knee as his druidic stave landed beside him. He'd mutter a few words to himself "W-What's h-happening?... D-Did someone-..." He'd quickly fall silent as well before his eyes began welling up with tears. His expression shifted to something of great sadness as tears streamed down his face and fell to the wooden floor "N-No... No, no, no, It can't be!... N-No!..." He'd cry out as he moved his left hand to take hold of his stomach, clenching it a bit as he fell forward onto the ground, laying there as he wept.

After quite sometime, the young Druid gathered himself as he pulled his form off of the Seed Hall's floor, going to sit upon the wilted tree inside of the structure. He'd drop himself with a loud thud as he continued to cry, his gaze fixed upon the wall in front of him as he appeared to be deep in his own memories. A few more words escaped from between his lips as he spoke in a rather shaky and uncertain tone
"W-Why did you have to leave us... I-I know I shouldn't be selfish, but I needed you... W-We... We all needed you..." With another long pause, a Karin cat would have came dashing in, a letter held In It's mouth as It offered such to Becclain. With hesitation, he reached out and took the letter, looking to the cat with a nod of his head. He'd then open up the letter as he began reading it, his eyes filling with more tears as they obstructed his view of the words. "L-Lari'onn... I-I'm glad we all met and connected that day, you are all the best family I could ever wish for... D-Don't worry, I'll watch over you children with the other Ducklings... M-Maybe one day... One day we could meet again, I don't think I have much energy left myself.." He'd say with a raspy cough right after, quickly moving his hand to wipe his mouth and then tears. He'd just sit there, staring down at the letter before saying his last words to Syllia "A-Always and Forever, Dearest Lari'onn..."

Xodorin quietly weeps, the sounds of nature coming to a mourning tone. Placing a small kiss atop her forehead. "You were the one who welcomed me to the family, helped me through all my relationships. You were the star that lit up my night sky. I will miss the times that we had in the upstairs room, my bedroom, the open room in Nenzing, and that one night in the grotto. I held you close to my heart and forever will." Tears formed at the corners of his eyes,  his shaking hands while gently cupping her cheek. "May we meet again, in this realm or the next."

Much later, the cat that had delivered the note to the previous ducklings, he'd skim through it. His hands violently shaking at this point. The mali'ame began weeping, feeling as if his soul was torn from his body. Being repeatedly stabbed. His hands violently shook before handing the note back to the cat. Placing his hands back on the cheek of his lari'onn he continued the stream of tears which now was flowing like a violent waterfall. "Vitalis is a fine young man." He paused, looking back to her. "I will care for him as if he was my own." A small moist pool formed at the bed where he sat, bringing his arms around her back giving her one last final hug.

His attention quickly snapped to Renae entering the room...

Sonna was walking with her two children, Naeri and Vallein, when she felt the pang, eyes immediately glowing a bright gold as a gasp escaped her lips. Not long after, tears began to pour, reflecting that same light, and sobs racked her body. "Haelun? What's wrong?" The three year old boy tugged on his mother's coat, while his sister gazed at her with a worried expression. "Your marlari'onn...Syllia..." The Red Fox Druid choked out before lowering herself to her knees and placing her head in her hands. Vallein immediately climbed into his mother's lap, keeping her company as she remembered; sharing drinks atop the Mother Tree as dedicants, spoting the Constellation Druid in the crowd as she married her brother, and helping her deliver her firstborn son. Sonna remembered it all as her body trembled, and her arms soon held herself tightly.

Naeri softly hummed a slow elven melody as she walked with her mother, rocking her hands side to side, her cheerful gaze forever set on her younger bother. As her mother quickly fell to her knees she'd immediately stop humming, quickly leaning down to rub the Mali's back, understanding what had happened after she spoke. "Maln needs you." She'd softly whisper into her mother's ear, rubbing her back for a few more seconds before getting on her knees and plucking Vallein from her lap, "Come on, Mal'onn, let's go play!" She chirped toward the child, attempting to hide any sadness.

"Mmh, what a tragic time for their family." A wandering 'ame would comment to himself releasing a huff and a cloud of vapor into the cold mountain air around him once he heard of the loss due to the Inferi hordes. "Perhaps I will send something for their loss."

                                                              Sad Leopard

The Wildcat stood upon the hillside overlooking the Talus grove, staring out onto the horizon for only a few minutes with a piece of parchment grasped tightly in his hand. It was no unfamiliar setting to he who had lived so long through so many, many tragedies. The burning in his chest that slowly rose up into his throat, the shaking of his hands as they struggled to find something to occupy themselves with, and the sorrow-filled rage that billowed forth in his heart and mind.

So from his perch upon a hill, he looked over the natural world of the Aspects and asked aloud to it all.. Why?

Why, he asked again, do the Aspects take from him when he has given so much already? Why did Cerridwen look upon his beautiful daughter’s life and declare that it was full? Why did Cernunnos lift his bow and take her from this world? Why do we suffer in service?

Pain spoke for him as he took these precious few moments alone to mourn in his ways. Birds flew from his place in a flock as the flowers wilted slightly to the ground in sadness, the wrath of a Wild Druid in mourning affecting the very flora and fauna that he had protected for so very long.

It was only after his throat was sore and his cheeks soaked with the tears of a father that sense returned to him. Slowly, he inhaled through his nostrils and smoothed his scarred palms down his chest until they hung flat and horizontal at his belt, exhaling with the motion’s close. As his wet eyes opened their glow grew more intense, his chest rising with another breath while his bare feet glided carefully across warm soil and blades of grass.

A few moments passed before the birds all began to return to their nests and the flowers rose up to their former, delicate glory in the rays of the coming sunrise. The Wildcat turned and began to make his way home with his questions answered and resolve burning anew. His Raven will need him strong for the coming season, not lost in grief.

However, he did pause in his stride to lift his fist that held the parchment to his lips, kissing his knuckles as he gazed up onto the last, fleeting constellations in the sky, “Save us a place with the Mani, my darling girl. Your rest is earned.”

Upon hearing the cries of nature the young Floral goblin's aura flared. luckily nature could not feel the pure rage towards the hive emanating from the druid. "rest in the eternal forest sister...the hive will be ended for taking you from us" Vex would continue down her path plotting the hives burning
