A N N O   D O M I N I 1811

Penned by the hand of Cosette of Leuven

Dear Your Imperial Majesty,

It has become abundantly clear that members of the noble house of de Falstaff have proven themselves treacherous. As a born lady of the empire I hold myself loyal to the state and the rulings of such. Regarding recent events I see it fit to publish a public letter of condemnation for Emil-Dardot de Falstaff, Conrad Nicholas de Falstaff, and Daniel de Falstaff all of which were involved in the revolts against the empire alongside the Sedanians. I, Cosette de Falstaff, hold myself and those of my household to a high standard and these members have not met such. I myself had no part in planning such a rebellion, nor did I have any idea of such plans prior to the attack. Though the grizzly fate they face is not one I would wish upon someone, all mistakes must have consequences.

IN NOMINE DEI,

Cosette Eleanor Ashford de Falstaff

of Leuevn

arched his brow, going to turn to his fellow committee members, "Looks like not even their own family cares for them." he'd utter, the elderly Duke, going to look out to Providence

Maisie d’Arkent smiled at the note, knowing Cosette was strong enough and of course, loyal.

The governess frowned. "I always said those boys were bad news!" she'd declare with a huff.

One Giuseppina d'Montelliano eyed the missive with a rather neutral expression. "Imperials have a weird sense of'a famiglia, one minute they'll be marrying amongst'a themselves and the other fighting wars against eachother and throwing them under the carriage," the Illatian would comment.

"This is nothing short of admirable," Charlotte Augusta would give her comment of approval upon reading Cosette's missive.

"Let us hope our wise Emperor shows pity upon the honorable Lady Cosette. She is an intelligent girl, and I should hate to see her suffer for the insolence of her kin." Blanche remarked with a soft sigh.

"I deem it fit that Lady Cosette is neither held in contempt nor suffers for the crimes of her kin. The bond between family is strong, as ours is, yet what occurs when one's family commits an unjust act? Lady Cosette's words are admirable, brave, ones that I know rend at her heart even in their glory. Let us see that she is shown the highest honor, and possibly rewarded for her service," Franz advises the Emperor as the two discuss the affairs of state.@Hunwald

Renee de Falstaff could only take a deep breath as she read the letter. It had taken her time to go over the actions of her brothers and cousin. She murmured, "She's right. . They should not have done that, but they chose to anyway." As upset as she was about her kin's betrayal, she knew she would most likely have to let them go and Renee took to the piano to distract herself.

Masamune would read the declaration, and would grimace at the prospect of a family member turning against their own family, but understand one's duty to one's own emperor.

He still would think it's slimy, however.
