The Bloodline Archive
Ancient Times

In the depths of the library, deep within old governmental archives, sits a peculiar sight. On a marble pedestal, the only pedestal in the Library, a book that must be a millennia old rests. While its cover has been redone in white leather, adorned with the image of an ‘aheral looking out from a stone tower, the first pages within nearly crumble as they are turned. There is no title that can be found on the outside of the book, for there is no mistaking what this tome represents.
An inkwell sits next to the book, filled with black pigment and within, a quill. Its purpose is clear, for behind a new page rests many ancient dozens, some too worn to read. Each denotes their bloodline’s name, family tree, origins and traits – and there are many empty sheets beckoning.

Actalonnii
Accursed House

These are Talonnii’s that have a repeated history of ‘ata in their bloodline, deeming the entire house as irredeemable, be it impurity of the mind or body. The following are notable Actalonnii throughout history; Izalith, Viradiraar, Maehr’tehral.

Talonnii
House

The Talonnii that are up and coming in the Silver State or too small to make large strides in progress are considered just that, Talonnii. The following are notable Talonnii throughout history; Telperion, Maeyr’onn.

Ahtalonnii
Revered House
The Ahtalonnii are the bloodlines which are the most esteemed of Mali’thill, they have been known for most of their bloodline to have done large contributions to the Silver State and have led their lives to be an example for all Mali’thill.  = History =

The Wynasul bloodline for generations has kept mostly to themselves with very few noted throughout history before the realm of Almaris due to most of them being rather eccentric artists or studious magi who kept to themselves, simply doing their duties to the Silver State from afar while pursuing their personal goals and businesses. Each Wynasul is to take on a mastery by the time that they reach the elven age of maturity, fifty. Most of the lineage seem to take up practices of the arcane or of the arts. However, in recent years they have become known for their pioneering of interweaving the arts with the arcane. While many mali’thill tend to find their path to progress in the pursuits of logic, the Wynasuls find theirs within their craftsmanship. They believe that since many other aspects to progression are already covered by the ‘thill and that it is their responsibility to pick up and advance forms of artistry of all types; fashion, architecture, painting, the arcane. It is said that the first Wynasuls combined the water of the golden pools into everything they did as to make up for following the rest of the ‘thill to the pools a few decades after and that their signature fiery-hair is shown throughout the artists in the family and those that have golden eyes are pioneers of craftsmanship, very rarely does a Wynasul have both of the unique traits.

= Physical Traits and Appearance =

Most Wynasuls are of typical Mali’thill stock and rather lanky individuals, standing at above six feet tall. Most tend to steer away from athleticism and focus on either the pursuits of magic or art, hence the lack of need for being muscular. The Wynasuls will occasionally have individuals with ginger hair, however those that do not, have bright blonde locks. The same goes for their eyes, they occasionally have golden hued eyes and if they do not, they generally have varying shades of green-hues. You will often find more with ginger hair than those with golden eyes yet it is not unheard of.

 = Personality and Beliefs =

Oftentimes, they are seen as eccentric and overdramatic when it comes to the artistic eye.  Despite such, they are surprisingly strict conservatives when it comes to the preservation of the culture and preservation of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. They have distinct purtian and authoritarian values as they believe their creative and arcanic gifts should be used to be in service to the state and maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. This is mainly to make up for their questionably pure appearances that they feel a sense to prove themselves to their peers, yet they still feel an innate sense of pride over such. They are oftentimes rather passionate over their artistic pursuits and will go to great lengths to defend them.

 = Eymotology =

The name Wynasul is derived from the elven words ‘Wyn’,which means happy, and ‘Asul’, which means sun. It directly translates to 'happy sun’, some infer it is because of the bloodline's creative disposition and fiery hair; making them out to be the personification of the sun’s smile.

The House of Dovian

60570.jpg

((The family crest. A Blind Owl with it's wings stretched out. The owl itself represents wisdom, knowledge, and the ability to learn. The 'blind' aspect of the owl is the Dovians lack of knowledge about their family history. It's wings are outstretched and flying into the sky to show the flight that must be taken and the risks involved in recovering their lost past))

History

The Dovian Household is a rather mysterious bloodline among the mali'thill. Unlike many other highly esteemed families, the Dovian House has a strange and sudden lack of history involving it's time within Haelun'or society despite the long lived nature of High Elves. Large achieves which should be filled with a rich and powerful history dating all the way back to the days of Larihei are gone. This lack of information about their history is a driving force behind the motivation of many modern Dovian House members if any do exist, for they are on a driven quest to explore and recover whatever scraps of history they can about their family and it's lost legacy. Desperate and ravenous for this sense of filling, the Dovians hoard whatever secrets they deem necessary in order to properly safeguard what interests they do have in Haelun'or society in order to keep themselves pure in the 'Eyes of Wisdom' as they claim.  A Dovain at the truest of hearts is a seeker of knowledge and history, willing to go to great lengths in order to document every little detail about any form of history. Knowing the past ensures the future.

Physical Traits

cc7d37ed80a6453a8c8b4ada6216c22e.jpg

((The follow good example of how a Dovian looks (on a skin and in an image. Notice the lack of a visible pupil/very hard to see whites with the colour ranging from green, blue, purple, and in rare cases if mixed with other families with a soft, gentle glow, gold. Dovians will always share this trait, being dominate above all other traits among their high elven kin.))

The average Dovian is a-typical for a high elf. Often having hair of a shade between an illustrious gold, or brimming silver akin to the metals found in the earth. The Dovians pride themselves on such hair, seeming the emulations of physical metals upon their body as a sign akin to how one would see divinity blessed upon them in terms of purity. However their true trait comes into how their eyes look. A Dovian, unlike other elves, lack any visible pupil, instead having their entire eye being a singular colour that harmlessly glows every so faintly (but never enough to give off meaningful light or be seen in the dark. This is just an 'aesthetic' trait to give the family a bit of flavor to make them stand out). While some may call this an imperfection, the Dovians claim that such eyes are in fact an imprint of the Void, the art founded by Larihei herself, that gives them these odd looking eyes, thus being a great emulation of purity itself.

Culture

The Dovian family culture is centered around the collection, preservation, and acquisition of rare fonts of knowledge, history, and magics. The high elf family prides themselves on this idea, and are radicalized from birth to peruse this by any means, often in fact to an unhealthy extreme. Despite this, the Dovians act with a great sense of dignity and pride, never wishing to tarnish their purity by any means if they can so help it, preferring instead to keep true to the ideals that founded their family. In the end though, if it came to it, would a Dovian sell their soul for the sake of progress? Are they to fixated with recovering their lost history?

 Uradir

“Ceru’onn Thilln”

ydy0Gf0WeakKZlBXic6unUfMVFD8z8m3wgX8lzSXw6kVsRCzzbB7GtShe0tJ1kH4GfMGSLRAteXAsOINZ8jaH6pm8lw75UIn1XbD2zKAhi4A0VSe3tX7Jf9BFXmb2c-OQzBjUIhk

The Uradirs are a venerable and storied bloodline, raised to the upper echelons of Mali’thill society through the influence and great success of Kalenz Uradir, who reigned as Sohaer for nearly two centuries, and further established through the efforts of Silir Uradir as Okarir’san.

They are a bloodline known for their ambition, drive, and sheer capability. This is well exemplified in modern times by the tenures of Anethra & Muriel Uradir as Maelunir (The latter acquiring Sohaer), and Silvyr Uradir as Okarir’maehr, as well as Celiasil Uradir who presided as The Second Republic's Okarir’tir.

The Laurir of the Uradir Talonnii is Anethra Uradir, who has served previously as both Okarir’nor and Okarir’tanya of Haelun’or, and despite her eccentric and reclusive nature, can be credited largely for the resurgence of the family’s reputation and wealth. She is known to be a guiding force and steady hand steering the Uradir towards their ever more exalted future.

=Physical Traits=

Spoiler

The Uradir bloodline was once one distinguished, as many Mali’thill Talonnii, by a narrow set of traits. Namely blonde hair and eyes toned in shades of blue. However, with the passing of generations and the introduction of other lines into the family tree, these traits have grown more varied.

Uradir will always have at least one of these prior traits, either hair in some shade of blonde, or eyes in some bluish hue. Skin tones can range from quite pale to relatively tan. Two of the current known Uradir lines have some variation or potential variation from this norm.

Anethra Uradir’s line would have the potential to carry forward lustrous golden eyes or white hair.

Celiasil Uradir’s line would have the potential to carry forward fiery red hair sourced notably from the Aélèyelsa blood mixed within.

=Beliefs=

Spoiler

The Uradir have been known historically to be a Talonnii with strict and exacting views on purity. It is the belief of most Uradir that any trace of impurity must be eviscerated and erased with the utmost contempt. That Mali’ata are intolerable and are done a service through the merciless cleansing of their most despicable and unfavorable blood.

Beyond this hardline stance carried by a majority of the family, the Uradir are known for believing that action and accomplishment proves worth, that idle talk is worth nothing if not backed up by a combination of competency and proactivity. Those that make empty claims to greatness, or prove incompetent in duties or activities they have asserted proficiency in are greatly derided.

The Uradir are a pragmatic family, known for wasting little time on idealism or flights of fancy, and instead grounded in what is before them and supported by reality as it stands. They can be stubborn in their dedication to holding the line on what they see as truth, even if met with resistance or pushback for the stances they may take. As a portion of this belief in realism, wealth is regarded as an important asset and often sought, not for any sense of greed per say, but for the power and security that it provides.

Finally, unity is a theme held close by Uradir of the modern era. Though not known to be loyal to a fault, holding to the aforementioned pragmatism even if it is family that stands against them, there is a common understanding that they are stronger and better together than apart, and that through combined effort the family may reach greater heights.

=Etymology=

Spoiler

Uradir, in Elven, translates to Naysayer, a meaning that falls in line with the Uradir tendency to speak truth to power, standing up for what they believe to be right regardless of common opinion.

Ceru’onn Thilln, in Elven, translates to Might from Purity, a message reflective of the family’s strict stance upon the value of uncompromised purity, and by inference their belief in the costs of impurity.

VIRADIRAAR

flat_750x_075_f-pad_750x1000_f8f8f8-remo

Knowledge Through Discovery

-=-

Introduction:

The Viradiraar are a talonii with connections to the first families of Malinor. Their name derived from their role within the ancient state. The first Viradirrars were by and large a part of a paramilitary organization that supported Larihei. The militant group was staunchly isolationist and fought for the transcendence of Mali to match the Aengudaemons. When Larihei herself discovered the void, a few Viradiraar decided to learn methods to utilize the void alongside her, but the unfortunate weakness of voidal poisoning caused many to be content with their traditional craft of alchemy. Despite the weakness of voidal poisoning, the Viradiraar at large respected Larihei and became aligned with her views.

Regarding the matter of Aengudaemons,  the Viradiraar are generally indifferent to them. Some revere them, while others despise the immortal creatures. Yet, a respect is given to these creatures as they control immense power and prestige. To overtake or match the power of Aengudaemons is a common goal that the family strives towards.

Unsurprisingly, Upon discovering the golden pools the Viradiraar embarked with Larihei to step into the waters. The transformation was transcendence for Malidom. TO rise even further from their current state.

Physical Traits:

The Viradiraar females are built with elegance. Their ears are long, even for a ‘thill’s and are often embellished with clip-on jewellery. Their sharp, angular and stern features are framed by either silvery blonde or pure silver locks, which is often worn to mid length, hanging at around their mid back, to their collarbone. Auburns are excessively rare, but not unheard of. Their eyes are, however, their most defining feature, often purpley blue in hue, or simply cornflower blue or a deep purple. Their skin is often smooth and well cared for, leaning towards the paler side of the ‘aheral spectrum. Build wise, women are often toned, for high elves, unless mages; such is often the result of rigorous Sillumir training, as both genders are highly encouraged to join. Women are typically shorter than their male counterparts, standing at around 5’8-6’4

The males, on the other hand, are built with strength in mind. Their ears, while slightly shorter than the women’s, are still long for a ‘thill’s. Sharp jawlines that look as though they could cut through still are common for Viradiraar men. Facial hair is rare, though not completely unheard of, and their hair colours are only slightly darker than the ladies’, with auburn hair being extremely uncommon. Viradiraar men take grooming seriously, and keep themselves, like the females, in immaculate condition, with their hair often kept relatively short or tied back for convenience. Their eye colours remain the same as the women’s, albeit with only one difference, silver is a potential, though rare colour that can show in men. The men stand taller than the women, at 6’1-6’7, often towering over other high elves.

Family Tree:

Screen_Shot_2021-07-08_at_1.04.00_AM.png

Etymology:

In the language of mali, Viradiraar roughly translates into Vigilant (mournful) Guardian. Guardian's of Larihei's words, they truly believe themselves to be. It's best to ask a member on their individual thought on the name.

HORIRNISCA

...

History

The Horirnisca family is a family of all trades, albeit they’ve prided themselves on being jewelers, though, in recent years, fine arts has become a family thing once more. Over the years, they were seen as an enthusiastic and joyful, curious people who’d ask you questions about what kind of spoons you eat with, yet, for the most part, didn’t travel far out of the small communities formed by where they lived and worked, maybe a family or two could trace back an heirloom necklace as being their work but other than that, there wasn’t much known about them, and, for all their questioning towards others, they never responded to any about themselves, aside from how their family was doing.

Traits

The Horirnisca family is notable for their reddish hair colors, with gingers and strawberry blondes littered all over their family. They’re on the taller side of Mali’ahereal, with their average heights ranging from 6’3-6’6, and general have quite average builds, occasionally being a bit on the chubby side. A Horirnisca’s eye color is a wild card, they’ve had a wide array of those, some even joke about the family having every eye color possible, though will quickly shut you and themselves down if you question the bloodline purity, often though they find themselves with grays and golds.

-

Personality wise, the Horirnisca’s are eccentric, they pride themselves on strange clothing and are a merry bunch, seemingly smiling and laughing often, though many family members often seem to hold to traditional Mali’thill views on other races.

‘Horirnisca’

While there’s no direct Elven translation of the name, a few in the family have speculated that the whole thing is just one misspelling of the original name, and have spent years trying to make sense of Horirnisca could’ve been.

History

The Trafina’s are a small bunch of individuals, mainly keeping to themselves within the walls of Silver. Their history began back in the realm of Arcas, and has blossomed in the upbringing of Almaris, with both the patriarch, and matriarch serving as rightful soldiers for the state of Healunor. The Trafina’s are unique amongst the rest of the Mali’thil in Healunor, they seek the need to protect the people, putting their life in harm’s way to protect innocent lives.

Physical Traits & Appearance

The Trafina’s are of your typical Mali’thil, with a lanky and slender build, ranging in height anywhere above 6 feet. Those who follow in the footsteps of both patriarch and matriarch would have a more toned body figure, as their profession is quite rigorous. The Trafina’s are known for their stunning White platinum locks, often glowing in the sunlight. Their eye color ranges from the blue/green hues, some darker or lighter than others.

House Melphestaus
(roleplay group)

[FAMILY SIGIL Being Developed]

“SERVUS SERVUM” ~ “I SHALL ALWAYS SERVE”

Actalloni
Accursed House

FAMILY SUMMARY

Spoiler

The ancient family head, Diamatus Melphestaus was a rarity amongst Elven kind. He had lived in an age where the sons of Malin had grown under the dominion of an emerging and growing age of the sons of Horen. He was there to witness the coming of Exalted Godfrey, and be impressed by the span of this man's capabilities. Diamatus took the first odd step as a High Elf, and welcomed other Mali who were not Thill into his family - establishing lines  beyond just his own blood, and in many ways making up for the lack of natural birth children. Thus his family was larger than most Elves, as it included numerous adopted children.  He considered them all of 'his blood' , though connotated some as 'De Melphestaus' to indicate they were not in the most literal sense procreated by him. This was the start of an unusual relationship the family had with the Elf Princedoms. His child, Maelgar would further continue this tradition. In the time of the Dominion of Malin, the Melphestaus family served under the Princes of Malin and the Empire of Oren. The family head, Maelgar Melphestaus and his wife Illana Melphestaus prided themselves on being able to intricately maintain their Elven culture yet immerse themselves with the Human Imperials of whom they were vassals.

When oaths were sworn to the Empire of Oren, the Melphestaus family was there to kneel with their leadership and give fealty to the sons of Horen. Although they were Elves by birth, they recognized the coming age of man and the need for Mali wisdom to guide them. The Sons of Horen would inherit the world, Maelgar believed, and it was the duty of Mali kind to guide them, teach them, and help them usher in a new age. This idea that Elves were not, in fact, superior to Humans was perhaps the final nail, in addition to the conversion of Canonism, in their relationship to further Elven Princedoms. It was at this time that the Melphestaus line found itself no longer welcome amongst circles of Elven Purists.

Detached from ideas of racial purity, and seeing in the humans a society of merit - the Melphestaus family grew fond of the humans they had lived with for many decades. So close was their loyalty to human society and their obligation of service, the family moved to Johannesburg in 1580, under the reign of Emperor Philip I and worked as academics and lawyers, offering guidance and wisdom when requested to those who wanted it. In the year 1593, the betrayal of Elven society against Oren as Courland began its invasion did not shake their loyalty.

As Imperial loyalists, the Melphestaus family helped in some small part in developing the ‘thanium bomb’ on behalf of Emperor Philip I in the late 16th century. Fleeing the city, they would escape to continue living - never severing their loyalty to the inherited and acknowledged Emperor of the human realm. In times of racial hate against elves, the family Melphestaus served. The family has always distrusted Elven Princedoms for this reason, believing they will inevitably betray all political allegiances to humans - because of racial arrogance.

Yet the Humans were not always kind to the Melphestaus family, despite their desire to serve. They took the hate, cut their ears to appear human, and served. Decried for faith, they adopted canonism, and served.  In times good and bad, they always served. After nearly two hundred years, Maelgar and Illana had their first child, Minuvas, in 1776 in Helena. They promised each other their children would learn languages, art, and culture - but they would never imply that he was Elven, only that he was an Imperial. They would never take their children to the Silver State, to be polluted by ideas of purity before their children could learn of their own free will. A mali child being born is a gift, but one that could be free from the prejudices inflicted on them would come to love their Empire even more. They took up human practices and commissioned for themselves a human house coat of arms, kept privately, to impart on their children.

Overall Family Traits

Spoiler

The Melphestaus family has served the Empire for centuries, quiet, obedient, with their ambitions kept close to the family heart. They are Imperials first, but have embraced the gifts of their Elven heritage in pursuing the improvement of their family and Empire. They prefer to embrace human-like clothing, naming conventions, and stylizations - though they are not afraid to embrace their Elven culture when appropriate.

Acceptable Races into the Family:
All Mali (To include Dark, Snow, High and Wood Elves)

Adunian

Half-Elves (of any of the above)

Family Values

Spoiler

Loyalty

The Melphestaus family has never broken its oath of fealty to the Empire since the time of the Dominion of Malin, and they shall quarrel amongst each other before they turn from the Empire. There is no greater achievement for a Melphestaus than to serve the Imperial Government. They judge other Elves harshly for betraying the Empire over 300 years ago.

Merit

The family follows the concept of merit in all things. The head of the family is set first by human inheritance laws, but the family decides internally who among them is most deserving to lead them based on accomplishment. Thus the family ‘heir’ is voted upon by the living descendants of the current Head of house.

To Serve and Guide

Serve and Mentor Humans. As Mali or those of Mali mixed blood, the Melphestaus family is likely to outlive its human counterparts and friends. It is therefore the Houses Duty to preserve, through academia and archiving, the history of humankind - and to advise its leaders in the coming age. They will take on a leadership role, if required, but they ultimately will return authority to the sons of Horen. A Melphestaus is most comfortable as an advisor to a powerful human family or individual. Humans can never be adopted into the family, as this decries this very value. However, they will employ human mercenaries, guards, or employees as a part of any estate and often welcome into their inner circle of friendship.

Faith

The family is devout canonists, taking to heart the teaching of the Holy Scrolls. As such they will not allow inter-marriage with humans into the family. They will, however, adopt Adunians and Half-Elves into the family as they believe they do not share in the sin of their parents. They will not allow their children adopted or natural to mix-race marriage in accordance with the teachings of the Church of Canon.

Mild-Mannered

A Melphestaus rarely raises his voice in anger, and dresses appropriately for the occasion. Well made Elven robes or Imperial Attire is the preferred dress. They believe that one should never strike when in a position of weakness, and family members rarely choose to show their hand publicly about their true beliefs on any given topic unless they believe it will have influence.

Family Strengths

Spoiler

Educated

Children of the Melphestaus family are offered a wonderful education by the family, and they take it upon themselves to ensure each of them is fluent in multiple human dialects and has a strong grasp of Imperial history, culturage, peerages and Knighthoods.

Magically Gifted

The family pursues arcane studies, privately, and shares them with the family. It is only in extreme circumstances that a Melphestaus would display their magical ability to others, feeling it is the secret ‘line of defense’ they have against their enemies.

Human Bonds

The family is comfortable around humans, feeling relaxed when making friends and engaging in small conversation. They are unburdened by the Elven social constructs or judgments of humans. They do, however, look at humans as if they were a young hero of the story - naive, in need of guidance and training, but will one day rise to greatness.

Family Weaknesses

Spoiler

Distant

The Melphestaus family can be judgmental, especially of its own family. Bonds of affection are built slowly and over decades.

Impure

Mali of the Melphestaus family are generally considered impure by the Elves of Haelun’Or. Therefore, the family has strictly forbidden their family from returning to their lands for fear of death, execution, or other judgment by their kin. The adoption of canonism and service to humans only further entrenches their distance from the Silver State.

Faux Humans

Although they are Elves and of Elven descent, they have a nagging desire to appear more human and Imperial. A Melphestaus will struggle their entire life about whether they should be trying to fit in with human society, adopting their clothing, dress, and language or whether they should fully embrace being a Mali.

Temptations of Power

The family desires recognition, and must resist the temptation to use their long life and gifted intelligence to place themselves above humans. They do not think it is wrong to be in charge, to be enobled, or to lead humans - but they must always be wary from subverting true authority from the sons of Horen.

Family Colors & Symbolism

Spoiler

The family colors would be crimson red, and black. Red to signify their Imperial nature, and black to remind them of the dark day when their Elven kin betrayed the Empire. A canonist cross would be placed on the shield, to remind them to keep and defend the faith aways. A scroll, and a book, to remind them of the merits of education and lastly the phrase “IN DEFENSORE JOHANNESBURG AD PHILIP I” ‘In Defense of Johannesburg and Emperor Philip I” to remind the family that they have been there since the fledgling days of the Empire, an unbroken line of servitude to the Empire of men. The age of the Imperial is upon us, and it is the Melphestaus duty to serve and guide them. A Dragon, to symbolize the Thanium Bomb that destroyed their beautiful city - but that unlocked for them ages of scholarly service and academic pursuits.

Berilior

"Div'ata'an, an'maehr'ehya."

dc1a4a751abad6f8bf13a3594c2a7a9f.png

  -----------------------==================<>==================-----------------------

History

The Berilior talonnii, as most recorded bloodlines do, has a pure bloodline that dates back to the times of old when the first baths were had. Fragments of recorded family history speak of some members even standing among the ailer in the prime years of this lineage, though as time moved on and events unfolded, catastrophes or otherwise, such notable feats became less frequent among the Beriliors. Even still, the archives hold enough proof to label this respectable line as avid scholars and poets that love to masterfully use the ancient tongue. In modern times, those that set foot upon Almaris when the Mali'aheral made landfall continue to prove this to be true, always striving to contribute to the Silver State.

  -----------------------==================<>==================-----------------------

Physical Traits

The physical traits of the Berilior bloodline are notable for their monochromatic tendencies, a Berilior has never been seen to have an eye color that does not match their hair. With that in mind, one can attempt to identify a Berilior by noting whether they have hair and eyes of golden to silver coloration, with shades between these two spectrums the only variation they display. Berilior are often tall and lean, with females tending to be slightly shorter than the males.

  -----------------------==================<>==================-----------------------

Personality and Beliefs

The Berilior family consists of 'thill that hold fast to the beliefs of purity and they build their ambition upon the foundation of maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, believing that all true 'thill should weigh their actions and desires with it in mind. An inclination towards intellectual and even arcane pursuits, it is not uncommon for Berilior to delve into esoteric ruins or bring forth new understanding of current translations and texts, striving to raise the ceiling of progress higher for themselves and their fellow 'thill. Most members of this talonnii are polite and calculated in public, with rumors that suggest when one earns the trust of a Berilior, they make some of the most trustworthy and enjoyable company of any 'thill. The talonnii has always backed the Diarchy.

Etymology

The origins and meaning of the Berilior name is largely unknown, considered likely to be lost through time. With the current knowledge had of the language, it is thought to be derived from a lost conjuction of older variants of the words 'vira' and 'llir', however this is not concrete, and speculation continues as the efforts of scholars bring more of the ancient tongue to light.

Ni’leya

Comport the Soul towards the One, and reap Perfection.”

____________________________________________________________________________

nileyacrest.thumb.png.7bcc6bb7a718dabc8177104670f9275d.png

The Argent, inverted tear drop symbolizes Purity, as its physical manifestation. The Black Orb in the middle represents the Soul, and the Blue Rising Sun represents the pursuit of Knowledge.

____________________________________________________________________________

History

The rise of Talonnii Ni’leya can be traced back to the times of Malin - specifically, to the exodus that occurred when the Silver Lady, Larihei Lohmanih left with like minded individuals after her discovery of the Golden Pools - the Genesis of elMali’aheral.

One of those like minded individuals, was named Sarndir Ni’leya - dubbed a nuisance by the Elves of Old Malinor for his constant inquiry. It is rumoured that in the bustling streets of the Old City, he would climb atop anything that would give him vantage - be it a box or cart, and he would begin to critique society, to the displeasure of many around him. It was at this time, that he encountered Larihei herself - He was captivated by their likeness - she too, questioned and as such, was seen as a nuisance by others - this prompted Sarndir to join her in her efforts.

By trade, Sarndir was nothing more than a Philosopher, he excelled in the critique of ideals and policies and this inquisitive - logical mind, he would pass on to his young son - Braxus. Kayda, a young Elfess, bore no resemblance to Sarndir - the two in fact, were quite the opposite. Where Sarndir wished to critique, Kayda wished to console. Not much is known about Kayda Ni’leya, other than the fact that she eventually married Sarndir and bore several children, the eldest of which being Braxus.

Growing up, Braxus was told many stories of Larihei and her ways, by his Father and Mother - this sparked in him, an unquenchable thirst to emulate her - hence his radical attitude towards Purity and maintaining it.

____________________________________________________________________________

Physical Traits

A Ni’leya typically stands between 6’1 and 6’6. In line with their natural inclinations, they are of slender build, although they retain power - their frames sturdy and upright. Their eye’s range from Deep Purple to Light Blue. They do not differ much from their kin - their skin is rather pale and smooth and their hair color ranges from Light Blonde - to Silver/Platinum.

____________________________________________________________________________

Mental Traits

A Ni’leya, has instilled in them from a very young age, a love of Wisdom. To a Ni’leya, the cultivation of Mali’aheral virtues is fundamental to their very being - They are a Talonnii who values Purity over anything else - This is something they strive to maintain. They are scholarly and their main pursuits are Philosophical in nature. While different families may pursue the sciences or arts to further elMaehr’sae Hiylun’ehya, the Ni’leya’s prefer to do so by debate and Philosophy.

Not only is a Ni’leya intellectual, they are also loyal - familial relationships are the basis of Haelun’orian society and they recognize this and understand the importance of the family unit. As such, they tend to be rather close-knit, siding with their family over others.

Given their intellectual nature and closeness of family, it should come as no surprise that a Ni’leya is typically quite stubborn and proud - arrogant even. If a Ni’leya believes something, they believe it to the greatest extent and will ruthlessly rebut any and every argument that poses a threat to their beliefs - they wield the pen, as opposed to the sword and view intellectual superiority as a greater asset than physical superiority.

Etymology

While much of the Ancient Elven language is lost, the most common interpretation of the name is that it is a derivative of a word for Graceful or Beautiful. Modern holders of the name attest to its meaning something along the lines; “Of Grace” - Leyu being the word for Graceful.

An'asul

"Do not wait for change, be the change"

The hand itself would represent the Mali'thill, the sun representing power. Together the hand holding the sun would mean in unity lies power.

Family tree

Spoiler

fc4bd913d3bd0c0984ba1ab0e2ea9cf4-png.jpg

Traits

Spoiler

An An’asul generally is built a little taller than an average Mali’thill, the females often taller than the men. The usual height for a male scales from 5’11 to 6’1 and for a female between 6’ to 6’2. The An’asul’s usually carry a pair of sky blue eyes and silver hair, though blonde hair is not unheard of. They speak with a rather arrogant, official-like tone preferring not to shout nor hurry in their speech.

Physical appearance

Spoiler

The An’asul talonnii keeps appearance in high regard, believing it is only pure to maintain a clear appearance while ensuring the health of your body. Some may call it vanity, but the An’asul’s would call it barbarism to dress in a wild fashion.

Personality/Beliefs

Spoiler

An’asul’s are often called the mimics of the state due to their proficiency in mirroring lesser behavior, thus they are often working in the diplomatic field. While they do follow Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya to the letter, their utmost priority is to the Silver State and the Maheral. An’asul’s would fall into the conservative side on the political spectrum of Haelun’or, falling rather distrusting towards liberals. An’asul’s are often referred to as cold and arrogant among the mali’thill when their true nature reveals behind the curtain they present to the lesser races.

Etymology

Spoiler

The word An’asul comes from the elven sentence Anehtaliyna’omyumier’asul which would roughly translate to “right hand of the sun”.

History

The Birth of the Mali’thilln | Establishment of Elcihi’thilln

Bygone were the days of Malin, no more were the times of united elveness. Larihei lead the Thilln to their inevitable future, destined was the creation of Haelun’or; motherland now and forever. With her that of the more historically highlighted were gathered, Sullas, Thar, Acal’aelor and the now ‘ata Izalith. Yet in the background were characters of less renown, people moved by maehr’sae hiylun’ehya; for not all had interest in fleeting power -- or direct influence in society and its many facets. These very many a mali, but for the context of this account one need only focus upon one; Finris Haterin. While others in their past forms had focused on the wisdoms of Malin, frolicked and upon the world bore children; this man was only lead by one singular charge. The unraveling of The Cataclysm, of which an eternal void had left in everyone's minds. His was not a Talonni for he was alone, his generation the first of the Mali; only humbled by Malin. While many thought of him an eccentric, his passion in pursuit of truth; wisdom and knowledge -- that which even the elves had forgotten never wavered. Upon a visit to Larihei’s library in search of further material, even the maiden herself had him acknowledged; these were mere remarks -- yet to the eccentric anything can heed their loyalties.

In time while Malin still ruled he searched ruins, battlefields and any remnants that existed. In them based upon observation, logical foresight, record and undeniable fact -- conclusions drew hypothesis and they in turn theory. This itself birthed a profession, one still to this day unacknowledged by most; bringing little regard from the circles of the wise. The science known as Archaeology was from his eccentrics born, yet his patience and knowledge was not to be scoffed at. Today we his Talonni call it inder’indeal, for history is a book with no end -- as eternal is our charge. With frequent visits his physical state had changed, his eyes a deepened azure; though his hair still remained darkened they grew brighter. His locks taking on the now recognizable grey, for in this era long since passed; very few had the fair white of Larihei.

Though his patience deepend with each bath, so did his eccentric mannerisms. When Malin’s old woods were to be lost to the now Thilln, he was slow to move -- projects unfinished. Hypothesis yet to turn to theory, his work and all that which he had grown accustomed; for the common Thilln had much more to lose. In these times not all had influence of which to gather strength from, stability to keep one's two feet firm. Yet dragged by a few thoughtful he was not left behind, to become a victim of rising tensions. Though a kind gesture Finris would describe it as anything but, yet I argue this thought highly illogical -- perhaps the onset rambles of our accursed aged insanity. But there he was when the city rose its lofty spires, where maehr’sae hiylun’ehya had found at last a home.

The Schism | ‘Ata Lomal The Accursed

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years it was in such the pursuit of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya; was tarnished by the first ‘ata. In pursuit of progress he had forgotten health, though by the ramblings of Finris the boy was nothing but too prideful. His words were more accurately portrayed by profanities unbefitting of Thilln. It should then be clear that were it not for fates mechanisms, this ‘ata and his exile; induced by the bereft of the lives of two old. Then our fair people might still have in their midst the maiden of which our fairness stems from. This ‘ata, Lomal now known as “The Accursed” had no respect for his kind; unable to tell the difference between disagreement and distaste. But in this time most historical, Finris had little involvement. It was to him a time of studying and perfecting of his newfound profession, mastering his art.

In elcihi he lived in its farthest flung corner, far away from where the divide formed; as walls were raised he find only further sanctity in his library -- his passionate projects. Unbeknownst to him was the corruption of the ‘ata and the spreading influence of the Daemon Tayl. Though by his own accounts he wasn’t “unaware” but rather too busy progressing the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya -- to spend time on such “civilities”. He seems to personally feel the ‘ata rude for intruding on his studies, of which I told him was a childish notion; only to further be admonished. While my personal mindful thoughts seem more clear, one cannot tamper with the eccentric; extending only the belief that my maln left the land -- begrudgingly only not to die. Had he perhaps not been a man of his craft, it would not have surprised me if he would had remained as one of the Vihai. I suppose I have this fact to thank for my own existence, for such is fate -- weaved as though with intention yet not.

The New Beginnings | Aegis Once More

Through the portal half were unaccounted and equally so was Larihei, even the staunchest puritan weeped; were it not for the eccentric few perhaps a flood might have formed. Though while the man that told me these facts has a flare for dramatics, I for one find it degrading. I wager that there were many reasons for emotional outburst. The families torn apart, those dead not to also mention the loss of our most beloved maiden -- fair and foresighted. Out of the few who had collected minds and emotions, this land was not unfamiliar; it was the land of Archaic Aegis. In its woods the mali born as well as their father Malin, his brothers influence still alive and remaining here. Yet even his kind was present, thus mali of all kinds found once more themselves in one and the same place. Their fates once again intertwined, like pieces on chessboard their journey laid out before them.

The New Beginnings | Heritage Rediscovered

While generations had passed and some had passed onto the great beyond, some had forgotten their origins; unlearned of Larihei’s truth of which our society is founded upon. The few who remembered were a minority or in the case of Finris, were too busy with their profession; their art. To them the thirst for knowledge side lining them from the sight of certain parents incapability in upbringing. However the course of times will would have this changed, for Aegis was not fated to last; its land sinking and the descendants long since left. In Asulon answers to age old questions were open for answers, Thilln ruins strewn throughout; their cultural heritage remained strong and bright. In their presence was the everlasting ideology of Larihei that of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. With the past rekindled, passions for sovereignty reaffirmed. The Thilln once again gathered in the Motherland -- in Haelun’or. It was in this place he would find his flame, one eccentric perhaps even more than himself; of the opposite gender and of which he would be wed. While history can confirm itself long past this point, so as well is that of my maln much longer than what is accounted for. I must cut short, for I intend to release instead a greater work -- more extensive and conclusive in a more appropriate place.

Appearance and Traits

Spoiler

While our shade of skin fluxuates between healthy pinks and puritan pale, one will seldom not find an Aldin without a grayed hairline; of which grows darker with age. With the rarity of a far flung puritan can a brighter blonde perhaps be found, but it is highly unlikely; as our features are most dominant -- and logically transferred through the generations.

Lf2J4u12oFv2WKb_-qzKnCgiSNNjukIjFXJiuEyh8wfpACFMq-Qd-4hNRScDEO11L7uhK-dDAd8DI5MjE_9-XJTMnjATPiIZrrghyVjajzyKtrIgrq3YG5Xk87Umt837EQNRxHcu

Our eyes are of a deepend azure or a purple shade, depending on the strength of heritage from either line. The blue a predominant Haterin feature while the Aldin puritan has lighter or darker shades of purple. Thus one can easily denote the features of the main caste of the Talonni, for most Finris-born are a darkened blue.

The common Aldin has hints of eccentric mannerisms, while having an odd efficiency in pursuit of knowledge. They wear oft earthly colors with hints of red or blue, dependant on the character of the wearer. In the end common professions range from the family founding Archaeology or the more common botany and arts of the pen and paper.
