Imperial Statement on the Ireheart Aggressions

6th of Sigismund's End, 1848

We have recently received reports that a certain dwarven family—one Clan Ireheart—has initiated several illegal raids into our sovereign lands, violating our pact of non-aggression and attempting to clip the ears of our loyal elven subjects. Before all else, we make it absolutely clear that these attacks, which constitute both an unjust invasion and an act of supreme bigotry, will always be met with the utmost force. Whosoever pledges his fealty to our country and submits himself to our law is our willing subject regardless of his race; having humbly asked for our fellowship and protection, he shall always receive them.

Further, let it be known that these assaults upon elves constitute not only a crime against our law, but also a crime against GOD, who bestowed upon each of the descendant races their particular appearances and their places in the world. To clip the ears of an elf is to mutilate GOD’s creation. It is diabolical.

And truly, this is a sin our empire knows all too well. It is the same barbarism which centuries ago brought the wrath of GOD upon our own prophet, Godfrey. But just as the chastened prophet forsook such mutilations, so too did we, and so too has the world. Now, like Saul the Necromancer, Clan Ireheart has resurrected something wicked and put it to new use. And much like Saul, they have committed themselves to the persecutions of the faithful; they have threatened our clergymen and our Church, all for the crime of defending the innocent.

Finally, we assert that these bigoted abuses perfectly illustrate the hypocrisy of so many of our enemies, who declaim our country for evil with the same bloodied hands that they use to commit it. Of what bygone wickedness do they accuse us, that they do not work to this very day, not only against our own race, but against others? Indeed, Clan Ireheart perpetrates these crimes against even those of their own country: the first victim of their attempted mutilations was Aver'wyn of Clan R'ikarth and House Melphestaus, daughter-in-law to the Urguanian vassal Stygian Hollow.

This missive is both a promise and an admonition. We will never tolerate the persecution of our subjects. Clan Ireheart must cease these attacks immediately.

Signed,

Her Imperial Excellency, The Duchess of Crestfall, Archchancellor

The Elven Vice-Chancellor of Oren would stand by the Archchancellors side, stating plainly for those asking of the matter.

"It doesn't surprise me that Urguan would come into Orenian lands and threaten to clip off the ears of one of its own vassal's children, the very Archon of Stygian Hollow, not withstanding that elf ear clipping is barbaric and illegal here.

If you think this account is not possible for the Grand King's Dwarven clans to assault his own subjects, you need not ask an Orenian - ask some of the Grand Kings subjects themselves. The people of Sunbreak have been assaulted by Clan Ireheart, and the peaceful people of Veritas were uprooted without prejudice. Now, the Archon of Stygian Hollows daughter-in-law and mother of his grandchild was threatened to have her ears clipped.

I'm not sure whats worse, that the Grand King treats his own subjects in such a matter - or that the Empire of Oren must be the one to advocate for their reasonable treatment.

Sir Vladrick var Ruthern would read the missive before morning training "Peace is a good thing, but this rowdy clan wishes to break it for a misunderstanding?" He would shake his head as he fixes his armor and prepares his Partisan "I pray they take this chance to fix their wrong doing, I would rather not have to get used to aiming low."

Wynanya reviewed the Archchancellor's writings from the Ravenmoure kitchen table, setting aside a cup of tea with a sigh. She may have looked to her father or cousins for their thoughts, tucking her legs under her as she shook her head -

"I remember treating that sweet larii de Astrea o'er in Elysium, not too long ago, when a Bortu'ikru missed the poor thing's ear. She's not much older than Amdrac! Thank goodness for Her Excellency and who she speaks for - I'm glad, at least, for our protection."

Anne Josephine sat slouched over her desk, blueprints and parchments covering nearly ever inch of the large desk. The overworked teen removed her glasses and gently rubbed the bridge of her nose as she thought of all her work she must finish. The lady's moment of relaxation was quickly interrupted by a courier rushinh into her office with a piece of parchment "What is it!?" The d'Arkent wined out as she was handed the announcement. Anne quickly placed her reading glasses back on her nose to read over the announcement.

Anne was extreme dismayed by the letter, one of her hands lifting to rest against her mouth as she read. "We do not need a war with the short dwarves! How am I to host events if we are being raided" At that she shook her head and laid the announcement atop one of the large blueprints. "The 4th Brigade will be mighty busy over the next few weeks."

A thud of a heavy chest was heard, followed by a grunt as Primrose set down the chest she moved into their farmhome. She rose, going to take the letter from her husband, Arthur Komnenos (@MailC3p

Primrose Gendik sighs after reading the letter, placing it onto the table. “It’ll be interesting to finally fight people my own size for once.” The 5’4” woman joked with a humored hum.
