TO THE INVOLVED.

 

In the limited capacity of memory I have of my parents, I do starkly remember the ferocity of their stalwart faith and morality. Honesty, compassion, and humility were always principles they tried to instill in my late brother Corwin and I, more specifically my mother after the death of her dear Ehemann Georg. Rallied around them were their dear supporters ofThe Houses of Barclay-Reinmar, Alstreim, and de Savoie (the former two of which are my own kin). They, together, vied to form a better commonwealth which thrived off on these most canonist values and that would serve as a Southern refuge for the faithful, intellectual, and righteous. In this day and age, some decades later, it is lamentable that the same figures who assisted in the realization of my parents’ dream have succumbed to the sin that they vehemently scorned: pride. 

 

Sutica was formed not to fulfill whims of power for the few who crave something as fleeting as titular distinction from their peers. It is unfortunate that its memory  is being feasted upon by guzzling vultures as though it were a boar’s carcass. Seeing as probity has waned for the signatories of the document ‘A Princely Return’, I will, for a time, embody my mother’s spirit and cite the line of succession which, in the law codex of defunct Sutica, rendered that should the heir apparent, sired from the loins of the Sovereign, perish, the distinction would go to his or her direct next of kin. As the Sutican succession stipulates, the eligible heirs after the death of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince Corwin Alexander were:

 

Her Royal Highness Katharina, Princess consort of Savoy, of the House Barclay-Sutica who was born from the union between Queen Johanna I and King Georg I.

His Royal Highness Prince Adolph Gloriana of Sutica, of the House Sarkozy who was born from the union between Queen Johanna I and Prince-consort Franz Nikolai. 

His Highness The Prince Ulrich of Merryweather, Landgrave of Alstreim, of the House Alstreim who was brother to Queen Johanna I.

The House of Barclay-Reinmar bears no legitimate claim to the defunct realm of Sutica for my father was crowned King jure uxoris which means that, although he ruled in the absolute capacity of a monarch, he ruled by virtue of my mother’s birthright and achieved his claim by marriage to her. This finalizes the illegitimacy of The Duke of Reinmar’s seizure of the title Prince of Sutica wherein he did not receive my consent to do so, only that of my uncle and husband who have admitted to not having been made aware of this grave offense to my familial legacy.

 

I plead with my kith of the House of Barclay-Reinmar to dismiss this claim and lay my parents’ legacy to rest.

I plead with the signatories of the document to repent and reevaluate whether such a title is worth the anguish you have caused your kinswoman, so soon after the anniversary of her mother’s death. 

 

As Head of the Royal House of Sutica, I additionally declare that upon my death, the title Prince of Sutica will be dissolved and abeyant. 

Sutica, as a state, no longer stands. Sutica, as a concept, no longer stands. To those who seek to benefit from her, shame on you for she has already given so much. It will die with me.

 

If it is your earnest wish to honour her, and you are lost, then return to us in Savoy and we will welcome you with open arms.

Ulrich Lothar braved the rant, at first, with a cold expression, yet he was boiling underneath; it did not take long for the Waldenian knight's temperament to flare up once more. "Woe is me," he cried out, a strike of his fist upon his desk coinciding with his spouse's change of tone, "that I'm to be the arbiter of this dispute forever - the accursed crown should have died with Lina!"

 

A painful flash of regret warped his grimace. He never wanted this burden, the right which was stolen from Ottomar and then bestowed upon Lina to earn. He supported his Barclay allies, and signed off the missive - assuming it had his niece's consent, and her appeal humbled him greatly. He wondered what Lina would have thought. All in all, it was a lesson well-earned for the newly-declared Lord Vandalore.

"I won't debate heresies from a woman who claims to be a priest. The Pontiff has forbid his duties as Pontiff in exchange for temporal wealth as well as forsaken his vows by letting Harranite liberalism destroy the tradition of the church of Canon" he'd holler back to the so call priestess before continuing his journey
