Alright, before I continue, I chuckled when Petyr called a 'flood' idea too cliched and religious when perhaps you all do not realize that Iblees is Arabic for Satan...

Anyways, I have conversed with my Teutonic Order and we are all for a complete lost of items, this is a Roleplay server, you need to join knowing that things will not be on a 'Minecraft/Fairness' basis, but in a 'Realism' basis.

Maybe any one with over 500 minas could have to pay a fine to get into the new world? The only reason i see that this would be implemented is to help keep the economy under control for awhile

From what I have been reading here it seems like there are two major sides to this story. There are the people who have been playing on this server for a while, have accumulated quite a large amount of wealth, property and status and are unwilling to give this away. I think “Fair enough”, they worked SUPER HARD for all of this stuff and just like someone pointed out before:

“It's like when you're playing your favorite RPG on your console, and you're so into it you don't save for like 2 hours, and then a powersurge flickers through the house, and your super nintendo or playstation or whatever resets, erasing all that you've worked on.”

But then there is the other side, which seems to mainly consist of those who are fairly new and do not have much, and those such as the Mods and admins where physical items do not seem to matter as much. I’ve been an Admin before, I know how little the money and the diamonds matter.

Now before anyone get’s all judgemental on me, hear me out. What I am saying here is not that “Oh everyone should just keep all their stuff cause they earned it” What I am saying is a compromise. People have got to meet in the middle for everyone to be at least partly happy. There’s no winning in these things, only keeping people content for the time being.

First things first, How does this big migration thing happen? Was there a great cataclysm? Did the undead manage to defeat the races and they had to escape? (If so the boat idea that was mentioned previously sounds like a good one, even though it would take a LOT of work... maybe temporary mods could be made. Some of the more trusted older members could help out with the building and then get demoted back to normal players?) These things need to be straightened out because it would then justify whatever happens to peoples items.

If you’re not following me let me clarify... Say there was a massive Cataclysm. A giant Meteorite smashed into the entire continent destroying houses, killing people but lots managed to escape via boats or something. Then people would only be able to take with them whatever they were carrying at the time. No chests full of crap, no properties because it was all gone. The Noblemen and the rich merchants would still have all their money, but they would lose their power. Their guilds. BUT! Let’s just say that this Cataclysm did not happen. Let’s assume that the undead began a mass invasion wiping out the outer towns and cities. People would have time to PREPARE. The rich would plan and stock up on their most valuable items, put them on ships to be safely carried away to a nicer place.

All I am saying here is two things: Compromise (Don’t let everyone loose everything, don’t let everyone keep everything) and to work out how things are going to work, you need to work on the back story (Who’s, How’s, What’s and Why’s.)

(I apologise if this has been in part or in whole covered before, I was too tired to read the entire post. Got up to about page 5 :P)

*Edit* Aurea has a brilliant idea ^^

Why compromise, From what I can gather most of the people who love this server and are willing to give up every piece of dirt block they have gathered are the ones that have also been playing on it forever. The wealth is not in the stuff you can take, but in the knowledge you can take with you. I would propose not meeting in the middle. If you are new to the server "3 weeks and under" you have very little to lose, maybe you feel differently but truly you have nothing anyway.

So here are the options post complete wipe,

1. Start fresh maybe with the same character maybe with a new one, sorta depends on how it happens.

2. Go to a new server, start fresh maybe with the same character maybe with a new one. O but with this option you don't get to take your history, knowledge of the lore, friendships, and memories with you.

Its pretty simple, Most of the long term players are willing and even wishing for a total wipe. The newer ones should jump on board as it will be a great ride. You will have an equal playing field where you can compete for Princedom or Kingship against the old kings and queens of Aegis, and maybe a few of them will just decide to retire for a while. Regardless of how the end comes I am sure it will be chalked full of honorable battles and methods for one to end his own life with grace and style.

P.S.

I love the kit idea too, and would love to see it expanded with info on upcoming skill changes in 2.0

I have built significant wealth in Aegis. I donated and got my Mina injection accordingly, and I turned 20,000 mina and a blank plot of land into one of the more established 'factions' on the server with a significant inventory of valuables and a few hundred thousand Mina. In addition to the approx 30x30 plot I was given, I've RP'd and used diplomacy to negotiate the aquisition of a significant amount of additional land in a fairly promintent location. I also have approx 25 - 30 people in my employ.

I do not say this to brag, only to give context to my opinion.

I don't care if we go the "complete reset" path. It's a new world, with an incredible amount of new possibilities for those who are willing to make them for themselves. I'm not successful because I had it handed to me. I worked hard to build my fortune and I can do it again if need be.

HOWEVER.

I paid $100 for my donator perks, and I expect that if our bank account / inventory / etc are completely reset then all donators need to be given their Mina / Protected land perks. That's not so much from an "I deserve this that or the other" view point. That's from a "Doing good business and maintaining good faith with the people who pay for this server" standpoint.

I think it would very unwise to wipe our minas accounts with the new map. Inventory wipes, I can understand, but losing all our minas, now that's just stupid.

I whole heartedly agree with giving donators mina's and there protected lands, You folks go above and beyond the call of normal membership and should not be punished. I would however request that it not just be handed to you at the start of the new map. Give the new map some time to grow and see its own path. The last thing we want is a war of "who ever has the most gold makes the rules"

On another note, This is radical idea that many will oppose but I am hoping and praying someone will give me a better solution. The problem I see is the lack of people playing certain races IE the Orcs mostly.... I walked through Sanjezal earlier today and noticed there was no one there.... I /shout'd the whole way through with "no one hears you" messaged all the way from the outer gate to the thrown room.....I'm an elf... I'm not even supposed to be able to reach it without incurring death...How can you defend your lands if no one is there to defend it. I would propose that only so many characters be allowed to be created under each race. If we can not, we would be better served having Iblees or some other force eliminating there bloodline. They do not deserve to hold a city as large as Sanjezal if they don't have the membership to maintain it. It only discourages people who go there excited only to be disappointed when there are no orcs to roleplay.

I should note, upon leaving Sanjezal I did meet a nice orc, I say thank you to him if he shall find this message.

In the case that we lose everything:

I begrudgingly agree with the kits idea since it seems we are at an impasse concerning what gets transferred over to the new map, if anything. Kits are better than getting nothing.

I don't agree with the idea of only minas transferring, as this will most likely cause people to just sell everything they own to hoard their funds and bide their time until the 1.9 wipe. Almost no one would buy anything because much of the population would be selling. The economy would collapse. As I said before "if minas transfer then items should as well and if one or the other won't be transferred over to the new map then neither should be."

I think that we should be allowed a PERCENTAGE of our cash instead.

A really small percent, like 20%. That way people who have made the wealthy will still be wealthy, but evening the playing grounds for abit.
