yes such as the huge city i built within the last couple months and am starting to get a steady flow of new citizens, i have spent well over 40k minas on, not to mention all the gathering i have done myself......

my other thought of course is, did vaq not already squash this rumor of a reset with the news posting he made?

What postings are you referencing? The only thing I've read is that its coming and that we have to be patient.....

and we are sure everyone is looking forward to a brand new world, with new mechanics, lore and systems.

You guys are so silly; I didn't think I would have to make a post like this but I will anyway to make things clear.

Even if "reset" our world, we won't actually delete Aegis, there will be a long transitional period over which players will be able to travel to the new continent / universe / lore related location with all their riches and items intact.

The only situation in which we would actually immediately delete Aegis is if Notch changed chunk handling in an update, causing our world to be unloadable on the newest version of Minecraft. In which case EVERY server would get a new world lol.

I hope this clears things up for people, unless Notch decides to mess with every single SMP server, nothing you have done will be deleted.

... The guy said there would be a transfer period, you can carry your stuff over but not the houses that you have.

Oh my. Shallowfield will be struck hard by this change of worlds. Though it appears to be for the best. I support this decision, and find the thought of not having your items and minas carry over to be a good one.

Sadly polls can be hacked and numbers changed. Also not everyone has seen this.

I also hoped to elaborate more on the Sets/Kits system I brought up.

I have it worked out to a class/role based collection of items. Essentially we pre-pick general classes/roles and decide carefully what each Kits should receive based on the role.

Examples:

~Merchant Kit receives 1500 minas and 5 gold ingots.

~Gatherer Kit receives a fishing rod, shears and a hoe.

~Fighter Kit receives an iron sword, breastplate and leggings.

~Scout Kit receives a bow, leather chestpiece and leggings and a map/compass/watch.

~Jack-o-Trades Kit receives a stone sword, 500 minas and a fishing rod.

Also I would hope for Donator specific Kits, most would just be better versions of the Standard Kits, but some would be set aside for higher ranked donators, such as:

~Noble Kit receives 5000 minas and an iron sword.($100 and up)

~Knights Kit receives full iron armour with an iron sword.($50 and up)

~Shop Owner Kit receives 3000 minas and a fishing rod.($25 and up)

All of these are examples, and would require Staff and Player analysis before being implemented, if at all.

Also I want reiterate that it isn't that I am ignoring people about keeping their things. I know the time spent will seem wasted, but I think of it this way.

Let's say you played through Morrowind, thoroughly enjoyed it, but are left with very little to do, as you finished most of the quests, and all you can do is talk to people and walk around the same world. The next day you hear that the second in the series, Oblivion, has come out. You head out and get it, start up the game and come to a realization. You think that since you played through a similar experience, instead of heading in with nothing and exploring and earning your keep in this new world, you immediately use cheats, max out your character and begin running around doing random quests for lulz.

Now I understand there are differences, like the dynamic world and P2P RP that you can participate in. The point is that you should enter this world as though it is a fresh start, like you did with the Old one. I have already heard people say they worked hard for their items, and even seen the absurd "LAWL NO RP IN LOSING MAH STUFF" argument. While it may not be entirely my call, I just don't see many diverse reasons to keep items. You will find more within a short amount of time playing, and I guarantee if this Kits thing goes through, you will have it 5x as fast.

Also to go over donator money, chances are it will be reimbursed. We will never ignore our donators, as we know it is your hard earned money. We also established those benefits, so if you payed for it, you will receive it. Please note that it will not stack if you do keep your minas.

I Support MrZombez in terms of the concept of a 'Tabula Rasa' New Slate, we should all start completely anew. Even going so far as 'diplomatic' ties even, but that is once again something the GMs will monitor in terms of ideas to throw around and mold into our new continent and the issue thereof.
