Issued by the Viscounty of Tuvia

in collaboration with the Kingdom of Balian.

12th of Horen's Calling in the year 72 B.A

The competence between noble houses within the Kingdom of Balian has always been null, while competence with no order is not healthy, it is believed by the Viscounty of Tuvia that some sort of game between all the peers can help developing a sense of brotherhood and cooperation.

A Game of Swords

A new competition shall be started within the noble houses of the Kingdom of Balian. A spectacle of unparalleled magnificence, where these august houses shall converge in a fervent clash, vying for the mastery of blades that bear their ancestral insignias. This initiative, lead by the Viscounty of Tuvia and with the support of the Crown aspires to forge an indomitable sense of fraternal unity and harmonious collaboration among these distinguished lineages while still working to be their better version possible.

How does it work

Each noble house will be given a sword forged between the Viscounty of Tuvia and the reigning family, one bearing their insignias and that better fits the spirit of their lineage. Once the weapon has been delivered, each house will have the right to duel another house in order to get their sword. The duel will be based on whichever discipline the challenging lineage decides, a few examples would be a joust, a duel, a general culture challenge, chess game… A house can be challenged every Saint’sWeek the same amount of times as swords they have in their collection, the loser of the duel has to give their bid sword to the contender. It is imperative to note that each duel has to be public, accepted and sealed within three days at most, otherwise the challenger can get the sword without dueling (must be noted, a good time for both parties must be found). It is not imperative that the peer takes the challenge but anyone who is direct family with them. Each duel must be refereed by a neutral party.

Sword Counting

During each Court held by His Majesty King Adrian I, the amount of blades each noble house has in possession will be revealed along with a notice on how the yearly duels go, with a brief explanation for the public to enjoy. After four Saint’s Weeks (1 month), the game will finish and a final counting will be held. The house with more swords will receive a special prize.

  • ✵ Starshine ✵
Spoiler

Born for glory, spawned for command, birthed in Balian. This Royal weapon joins the work of a master smith with the skill of a trained monarch. With a purple coloration, freckles of pure light adorn its curved single-edged blade, giving it the looks of a starry night, the same one that Cloudbreaker was defeated. Its total length is of exactly three feet and presents a Golden handguard of Italian style which holds in place a large Star of Saint Lothar crafted from the finest Silver. The handle and the pommel are a single Steel piece covered in Oak Wood and ending in a sort of filigree. A sword of Novellen heritage that shall be kept within the reigning family for centuries.

  • ✥ Aurum Tooth ✥
Spoiler

Manufactured in the eastern city of Portoregne, the Steel forming this slightly curved weapon of three and a half feet in length is the best found in the Kingdom. Its blade, with a small bent, allows for it to be used while mounted; it emits a soft light as if thousands of shiny gems were kept within the metal, being more prominent on its single edge. A black-tinted Steel crossguard protects the user's hand and is shaped like a real dragon fang which curves downwards and rests over an Oak handle covered in red leather which has been texturized to feel like scales. The Golden pommel of the weapon, not only is reminiscent of its D'Arkent origin but it is also shaped like a Dragon's head, its many details making it almost a perfect depiction of the mythical creature.

  • ✮ The Eagle's Fly ✮
Spoiler

A great sword of impressive build, standing tall at five feet. Purple steel forms its blade, only interrupted by dots of pure light that make the blade look like a starry night. Sharp on both edges and with a fuller running down its center to reduce the weight of the weapon. Two diamond-shaped pieces of Quartz adorn the lower part of the blade, where the metal meets the guard, shaped like two spreaded eagle wings. The long handle allows for a very comfortable dual-handed grip of the greatsword, made of Oak wood and covered in white leather, it ends in a pointy cross-shaped pommel.

  • ✺ Tyrflain ✺
Spoiler

Created as a blade to signify the history of warfare and ascension. This weapon would be made out of Anorum. Totaling 45 Inches in length the sleek and almost see-through blade would be covered in an inscription, that due to the nature of the blade would be quite hard to read “Ascendere prae ceteris”. The handle of this longsword would be covered by a dark leather wrapping, while the guard would be of steel. The pommel would be a twisted shape of a classical pommel design. The guard of the blade would also have an eagle engraved in it. Finally a single Onyx would be embedded near the handle inside the blade. If one would take a close look they could see faint light being emitted from the blade, together with the nature of Anorum, making it seem as if it was a blade forged solely of light.

  • ϟ Crow’s Thunder ϟ
Spoiler

Born from the forges of the Balianite Kingdom, a mighty weapon said to have been smithed under a thunderstorm. Simple in fashion, this bastard sword stands tall at four feet, its double edge is sharp and its Steel blade's surface is only interrupted by two parallel fullers that reduce its weight and thin, short arcs of ‘lightning’ that dance vehemently around the metal. Its T-shaped guard is forged from Black ferrum and shaped like two open crow wings, sitting on top of a charred-looking handle which allows for both single and double-handed wielding, made from Ebony Wood and covered in black leather. Depicting its Sarkozic heritage, a crow head made from Steel adorns the weapon as its pommel, completely black its eyes are two rubies.

  • ❄ Soul Biter ❄
Spoiler

A weapon of Ruthern style, with a very pointy blade that measures three feet in length. The surface of the Steel is covered in a thick layer of  gray frost, exuding coldness whenever it is free of its sheath, looking almost like a chunk of ice. The lower part of the weapon could be considered a masterpiece of blacksmithing, a single piece forming its guard and handle, forged from Black Ferrum and shaped like a hammer-head shark that seems to bite into the chilled blade. The animal’s body is covered in a very thin layer of leather which gives it texture and the effect of gills on the side of the shark. A ceremonial weapon that could still be used in a fight with no problem, forged in the city of Portoregne.

  • ❅ Glacies Lignum ❅
Spoiler

Forged by the skilled hands of the Kervallen family smiths, this Gladius Hispaniensis is the epitome of simplicity and intricacy at the same time. Only measuring a foot and a half in length, its wide Anorum blade ends in a frightening point, both extremely sharp edges seem to be perpetually covered in frost, emitting coldness while exposed. In a single piece that includes the guard, the handle and the pommel, the master smiths of the family shaped the Steel into an Elm Tree, a symbol of the Viscomital house, the top acting as a round handguard while the trunk acts both as a handle and the pommel, that goes slightly bigger to avoid the sword from slipping.

  • ⋆✦☀ Virtus, ᴛʜᴇ ᴊᴀɢᴜᴀʀ'ꜱ ꜰᴀɴɢ ☀✦⋆
Spoiler

An alluring Khopesh of Balianite fashion, standing at a total size of two feet and a half. Forged from the finest Qhalashi steel in the realm, its curved blade looks as if rivers of molten magma flowed over its surface. While the arched blade only presents an outer sharp edge, its shape allows for it to disarm opponents and be even used as a club. The Oak Wood handle offers a good grip and presents the depiction of a jaguar head with a sun behind it, embroidered with many citrines and onyx pieces. The Aurum pommel gives a perfect counterbalance to the weapon, with only a simple Silver G as a decoration. A weapon made to represent the Baronial house of Galbraith and their ever changing future.

  • ✼ Fierté du Lion ✼
Spoiler

In simplicity resides beauty; a longsword of Portoregnian fashion standing at four feet and a half long and ending in a pointy tip. Its double-edged blade seems to be perpetually surrounded by jolts and bolts of electricity as if a storm was contained within the metal. An Aurum handguard adorns the blade, with tiny round-cut sapphires inlaid at each side of its T-shape and at the center said protection, climbing up to the base of the blade. Offering a perfect two-handed grip, the Oak wood handle has been covered in a braided strip of blue leather, leading to a golden pommel shaped like the roaring head of a lion whose eyes are pristine Sapphires.

  • ✦ Dragon’s Bane ✦
Spoiler

Finesse and elegance in a single weapon, with a size from tip to pommel of three feet and a half, the Black Ferrum blade looks as if rivers of the molten dark metal formed it, only interrupted by a sleek fuller that runs through its middle. Forged within the workshops of the city of Portoregne, a T-shaped red-tinted guard representing two sprawled out dragon wings adorn this light weapon, sitting right over the hilt that has been adorned with a series of precisely-made Steel scales of the same crimson color. A special weapon that dons the essence of the Vilac family, made to serve them in times of need or as a sign of their elevated Status.

  • ❃ The Balianite Paraspada ❃
Spoiler

A blade of similar manufacture to that of a Paramerion yet with minor changes that allow for it to be catalogued as its own kind of weapon; a Paraspada. With a Steel blade of around three feet in length and featuring a rather curved shape, electricity seems to jump and gather around the metal. Thought to be used mainly while mounted, only one of the edges is sharpened, making it easy to use for all kind of wielders. Oak woods forms its handle, which is in turn wrapped in dark purple leather which allows for a firm grip. To finish the weapon, an Aurum pommel of a minimalist design yet holding a Silver six-pointed star gives this weapon the final touch, one to represent the Royal Balianese Armada.

Dante's head tilted curiously as the blade was presented to him. As his grip settled, a subtle transformation began to unfold. Electricity danced and built up around the blade's steel surface, creating mesmerizing arcs of lightning, adding to the aura of vibrant energy to the weapon. A fog forming around the weapon, increasing it's mystique..

With a bright smile of satisfaction, Dante turned to face the assembled marines, raising the sword skyward. The blade's enhanced features glinted in the light. "Ave Balian!" he proclaimed with pride, the sword now fully activated and radiating its distinctive aura.

He stated, before rolling his eyes. Seemingly dreading the additional duties that he now had because of the game.
