Seven Skies was always the "blessing" given to Humans and has an approved lorepage currently. Dwarves have never managed to in any way canonize their own concepts over the years; as to why IDK this would've preceded my tenure as manager. The Brathmordakin is a player religion just like Canonism is. Canonism itself is NOT CANON aswell. Fundamentally Yemekar and Dungrimm etc. are not real Aengudaemons [Dwarves don't even want them to be], and the Dwarven moon afterlife isn't technically off the mark. In fact, the Moon = Ebrietaes where all unclaimed non-human souls go to dwell in limbo so . . .

@MestvinI guess your lore is pain^2. Dwarf necro is gonna be stuck in lore hell til the day Zahrer Irongrinder returns from heaven with runesmithing in one hand and in the other the hammer of Urguan.

Well the brathmordakin has in past maps been aengudaemons (Axios). As for why the playerbase don't want no green god hands on them is due to the fact that many don't think the lore around said brathmordakin would be respected.

Many dwarf players have expressed concern around the fact that the st might do some story about Dungrimm being the bad guy just cause "God of death = bad" mentality while there is litterally Khorvad. A deity of corruption in all forms.

Anyways thank you for the clarifaction but Khaza'Dentrumm is not just the moon. Khaza'Dentrumm is a plethora of domains connected through Dungrimms domain (which is represented by the moon) where each dwarven soul is taken to one of these domain depending on what brathmordakin they served best which is reflected in a auction.

It is not just the moon.

Hate to say it but the gods and afterlife have never been genuine accepted lore (other than the runesmithing one for a time in a hidden lore page)

since lore was more than word of mouth from like 2015 onwards.

While I don't like it, I believe unfortunately were the freeze lifted the immediate flood of the same issue has beforehand would come oncemore. Until that issue can be corrected, I would stand to guess that the freeze is going to be maintained.

As a shaman player, if the lift was raised. Another nothing burger submissions would occur.

Let us reformat the lore so it isn't all spread out.

Anyways it is time to be genuine.

1. The new metal revamp is nice but has a lot less impact if none of them are gatherable which has been a fact for most of Aevos.

2. The server has 4 races. Write lore for all of them. It is good shamanism is being fixed but I hope the team do something else besides make Seven skies cannon.

As my emperor @Noobliussaid and I quote "Not trying to be negative, just genuinely curious as when I was dwarf culture lore writing, I often told people who brought up dwarven afterlife canonicity as it being irrelevant, because it frankly cannot ever have an effect on Roleplay Characters."

The dwarven afterlife to me as a dwarf player has mattered in roleplay heavily due to the fact that when my dwarf was raised as a ghoul. The ineractions it has spurred and the conotations that follow with the fact of not being let into the afterlife have been some of the best roleplay yet.

I as someone who will never play a human has a sour taste in my mouth due to the fact that just cause my choice of race impacts the relevancy of my lore/irp theology/gods.

The Brathmordakin is a gem compared to the rest, they might be unpolished in some regards but the religious interpretations and debate surrounding them is actually very cool but it is allways sidelined in the end. As we all know "they ain't canon, therefor they don't matter".

Dwarf lives matter and the soldier of Urguan will fight til they can't no more.

Seven Skies has been apart of server canon since day one and a foundational aspect of the Four Descendant Races each receiving a unique blessing, this is why it is of greater consequence than another race's afterlife. That said, simply because Canonism espouses this bit of lore, does not mean that Canonism is entirely canonical (pun intended) in its theology.

As with all religions in RP, they're at best player interpretations of the Cosmology of LotC and are thus prone to biases or just flat-out incorrect information. This is largely why no religion's theology is canonized within server lore, because if they were it'd open up a thousand different contradictions and proceed to invalidate one another. It is better to preserve the capacity for these player interpretations to exist, as this is what has led to creation of these cultural pillars such as Canonism or the Brathmordakin in the first place.

I do not know enough about Brathmordakin personally to be able to know what might contradict with what is canon. I assumed it was a form of ancestor worship, with a pantheon composed of dwarven ancestors and some mention of a distinct afterlife realm. Whatever sort of mechanics this would use are likely already covered under Shamanism, in the event you are looking to bring credence to the religion's theology in-game. Regardless, debates and interpretations of these things very much remains an issue to be solved through roleplay, not by some Green Janny stamping [CANON] on a singular viewpoint.

All that said, I do think histories put forth by these main religions should be considered a degree of canon, as their impact on roleplay far outweighs the cosmological fluff the LT holds dear.

  Hide contents

Lore pieces need to include a table of contents.

It would be a big ask, but it would be nice to include statistics on MA/CA/FA/MArt's. I think it would be interesting to see the totals and growth in these story updates to gauge community sizes and momentum.

Nevertheless a wonderful update, thank you Story Team.

In hindsight this seems like the extremely good and obvious idea... Why haven't we already done this?
