That's complete snozzcumbers.

If someone does insufficient RP before killing you, you file a ban report. People can be just as 'item hungry' with RP fighting as PVP fighting.

I also ask you, how many "item hungry" players do you know? I think that's a hugely inflated and artificial problem.

It could very well be.  But I wouldn't trust the community with a kitchen sink.  It may be my past of occasionally (actually, quite a bit) abusing soulstones and the skills plugin.  In addition the basically the only other arguments are slow internet, which I can't complain about; and OOC spam skill translating to RP combat skill, which I don't really care to argue as. . just. . . . meh.

Then again, I have seen plenty of villains who just seem to want to rush to the kill (*cough* roses *cough*).  The question there is of course do they want the items or are their characters really just that bloodthirsty?  It seems to be a toss-up.

No no no, roflmao. We're a Minecraft server that has decided to take the approach of roleplay with the help of a myriad of plugins, which is wonderful.

And no we don't blame nametags because they don't make any difference. I was just saying, put your stuff in a chest, and all problems will be solved.

Name tags make a big difference. May i even ask why this /damage 20 is enforced, it only causes drama which the staff says they are working against. Don't think there will be less villains now when there will be fun PvP, less RP efforts and a tasty full inventory of items to get :3

These responses are so funny, I dont even know how to respond to them. Especially those that have been refuted 50 times

Ill write a long post again when i get home

If there are so many people in both camps, won't people who prefer PvP have no problem getting in touch with other people who also prefer PvP. Same thing for the vice versa.

I've tried that. It's hard. People don't take PvP groups as serious as they should ((when arranged OOCly)), and mostly think of it as an OOC thing, which it isn't, as seen by the dwarf-Oren war zones.

I believe it is completely logical that a character can be Item hungry. If you go and wear your Iron armor infront of people that don't have Iron armor, then yes, they are going to want it. If you have a bunch of items that other people want, be smart about how you travel. For an example either travel lightly or wear dirty rags, so people really don't pay attention to you.

We are an RP server, that applies power and meta gaming into account. Should we blame minecraft for having nametags because its minecraft default?

We have this roleplay server in a game called minecraft. A game where everything is perfect cubes and you can build a house in 5 minutes. We obviously can't have a perfect realistic feel to this on such a unrealistic game. There are and will be some parts of roleplay that minecraft restricts us to not play perfectly realistic. I just RP 64 items as a group of items in my char's pack.  I really don't know how to make it much more realistic than that.

Only if you metagame them. I ignore nametags completely. /damage 20 is because when you die... YOU DIE. You lose all your items when you die, because the Monks leave behind your possessions.

Hey guys, I know this is going to be shocking, but

When people are killed, they die.

Edit: Also, this thread is going nowhere. Nobody is bringing up any good points anymore. ._.

I suppose i am going to have to find people who can have and provide heavy Role-Play then.

So what is said is that i am not allowed to have building materials in my inventory that is clearly not for Role-Play since custom items are allowed to be spared which makes less sense than having building blocks taken. BUt to be honest i will shut up, it's not really going to matter what I say at all.

Forcing your heavy roleplay ideals onto others is a recipe for disaster. Also, if you wish to do heavy-rp, why do you carry an inventory full of building materials around? Even I, as a pretty light RP'er limit the things I carry to a reasonable amount.

If you're going to preach that you follow heavy RP yet dance around the restrictions with things like OOC inventory and such... well, why do you bother doing heavy RP?

Who said i am forcing..finding people that have the same RP requirements then? And I'm not when i Role-Play, I use a chest in my inventory with 8 surrounding items. 9 spaces. Obviously as i keep saying which is not allowed is that i do have building materials because obviously I'm not going to spend an hour transferring the items now will i? There is a difference between being stupid and being efficient. But now i know. Yay.

Back on topic, RP vs. PvP is a very big difference indeed. People have developed, over the past course in time, different ways of approaching roleplay skill level that isn't based on their being amazing at pvp. Do keep in mind that this is a roleplay server, not some network of pvp servers. People should not be expected to be the best pvp'er ever to win fights in the server, and have their character be severely affected by their lack of OOC pvp skill. That is really the big difference between roleplay and pvp in battles, the skill of OOC and in-RP. Powergaming comes from RP fights, but anybody with armor can win a PVP fight, even if they would be slower than the dagger wielding foe.

Exactly that last part, i guess we can only sit and wait for the plugin and how it will solve such stuff since its still click click.

So you are saying that a person using a dagger would win against an armored foe already? That's the very definition of Powergaming as well, determining the victor even before it has started.

Never said that, but I am saying the person without armor would by definition be faster, and that would allow them to land some, if light and basically powerless, blows. In a PVP fight, the fight is basically determined by who has better armor.
