Then you can go and get banned for it. The rules are the rules. To abide by them is to be fair.

It's that sort of attitude that ruins this community. A linear and close minded one with a self perceived flair of spite that only digresses this server from being good for everybody.

Loosen up. The world is not at its end. You will live on.

Then I will get banned for roleplaying! Not as if this is a roleplay server or anything Pfffff

There already is a list with every villain that the VAT keeps up and updates each time they accept a VA.

In continuing with my point, I'm not sure I can imagine how many names are on that list. The way roleplay fighting enables us, villainy is just the next logical step in seeking further freedoms from restraint. It is so logical that we forget that limitation and structure are crucial components to a game, and in forgetting, we compromise the drama and wholesomeness offered by the narrative of two people for how common and easily engaged combat has become.

To be honest Villain Application could as easily be called Roleplay Advancement Application because it can be used for good characters as well. I believe that the Villain App is more of an app you will do to make your roleplay more profound and complex than to really be evil.

A large part of the VA's I reviewed when I was VAT weren't even evil people.

However, I agree with your point nontheless.

Currently, 1080 characters on it. Now this does not differentiate from perma'd characters or now inactive characters/players.

I just did a 1080, having heard that. My head is spinning, man. Hopefully, a good chunk (crossing my fingers for more than a good chunk) of that is composed of dead and inactive characters, but I think that would be optimism.

Remember a HUGE proportion of these are Minor VA holders.

My option IS RP-PvP. Stop trying to smash together broken straw to form your straw-men about PvP. If 'PvP' or more correctly called, RP-PvP got most votes, my system would probably be used, I am getting tired and will try to bite tongue against using names, but Im getting worn out of reading how RP-default arguers keep painting the Armageddon concerning the 'PvP option' and I thank the mature and intelligent players that realise that if that option was instated; IT DOES NOT mean you can just flop around PvPing people. Likewise, for the 1,000th time, this is NOT barring you from requesting RP fights. If RP-PvP is default, it does not BAN you from asking for RP fights. Please get a grip and stop making fallacious comments that are just there to 'scare or worry' others into your camp.

I know it isn't stopping me from requesting an RP fight, it just means:

PvP+RP= PvP. That means anybody can take advantage of my computer issues and beat me in a fight even though I may have an advantage, logically speaking. I will be reported for avoiding a fight when I refuse to PvP. Again, PvP isn't a viable option for me because of my computer issues. I will be taken advantage of, and the server will be on the side of the PvP-er.

My RP-PvP system gives leeway to those who somehow are still stating that 'lag is an issue' despite the multiple manners to say that it isn't. Also xkynarethx, you act like people are seriously going to open a Wordpad, record 'xkynarethx has shitty computer' and abuse it...

PS: Has ANYONE even cared to respond to Shiftnative?

PPS: I crashed before I could inform Danny to leave my system off, I wanted it to be presented as compromise. Although realistically, my system is practically an RP-PvP system in the end, it would perhaps be the way our rules worked GIVEN the fact we would evidently have exceptions to the rules and a bit of a system JUST as we had in Aegis.

I proved my computer problems are a problem, and you were there. I constantly freeze and get hit while I am unable do fight back. People sometimes look like they teleport. I do have problems.

And nobody is going to write it down, please don't trivialize my argument, but it will put me at a disadvantage. (If you remember, I was killed by a guy with a wooden sword in a couple of seconds. I only managed to get one hit on him, before I froze and was demolished.)

Alright,

1. Once again, painting RP-PvP as the armageddon is not helping realise that you can:

    a. Request RP fights, possibly settlements and entire regions will become more RP fight leaning.

    b. You can easily participate in a settlement that is RP default no-problem.

2. Once again, it may possibly bar you from one-manning a situation, does not bar you from participating in larger conflict RP situations.

3.

Let's face it, everyone has a different opinion of what is more likely to happen in a given scenario - especially in combat.

Text-based combat is argued about constantly

and the ban/strike reports often harbor 10+ screenshots of full

chat-log emotes, where GM's are expected to read every line to decipher

just what was happening, who was where, and who's at fault.

Players end up voiding each-others role-play, argue in local OOC and even grow resentment for one another OOC'ly.

Combat via text can be incredibly vivid and unique but in the end it draws a lot

of romanticism toward combat and struggle when we could spend our

energy having banquets, festivals, tournaments, races, dances,

competitions, great hunts and more with the time spent both in these

combat scenarios and arguing about them.

I like PvP because my OOC fear

translates well into IC fear which is exhilarating and I see Minecraft

as more of a LARP than a text-based game.

I'll try to say a few things that might relieve your concerns a bit. Firstly, all the things I have said, I've said as a roleplayer who can count the number of fights I've been in (PvP included) on one hand, and I've been around for two years. Secondly, I have a womping willow of a computer and I still lose 90% of these kinds of fights to people with inferior machines. These people are just better than me, and I don't have a problem with it. Thirdly, PvP would mean wanting to avoid fights instead of recklessly engage them. You wouldn't be the only one trying to keep your skin.

I also say this as someone who doesn't like to find himself in combat, unless there's a war on (in which case, the chaos can be really cool to see, as well as pretty immersive). If I had a sloppy jalopy of a machine, I'd still say all of these things, because I believe wholeheartedly that it would begin to steer us on the right track; that being away from frivolous and unnecessary conflict that has no meaning or significant impact on anyone.

The weaker person will RP to prevent losing, or running away.

The stronger person will PVP to win.

Now I don't want to argue 30 minutes if we should RP or PVP, just so you know.

So many keyboard warriors around here. Sheesh.

But I noticed someone posted a reply about them being a dread knight which brought up a notable concern. If someone could go read their lore you would see they are pretty much super soldiers. Wouldnt that defeat their purpose of all the time and effort they put into their lore to only be PVP'd by everyone in every fight they get? There are so many broken parts to all these rules and so many loopholes people bring up. The most notable being "Let me make a magic app so I can bypass the PVP rule." sort of mentality.
