What?

Whatttttt?

Before he was a Admin. Before he was a badass. He was jsut a player like you and me. He, like every other person on this server, had a fair chance. If you would take a step back and look, you could see that you too could be successful like he was without being a god at pvp. I'm not even going to try anymore, if you can honestly beleive you don't have a fair chance after what I said, then you are just looking for things to complain about. /done.

I can't say I approve that you just bailed out of a discussion, but whatever. I am not saying I can't be good without PvP. I am just saying that PvP puts me at a disadvantage. Simple as that. I am not looking for things to complain about, I found them when I saw that PvP was default.

In fact, I am not even demanding to be as successful as Mogroka! I am not even demanding to be close to him! I am just voicing my opinion against PvP being forced on me.

In fact, let PvP be default! It's fine! As long as I don't get reported for refusing to do it. I want to RP fight without being forced to do something that I don't want to.

I support PVP myself. Although I am not good at PVP really, it's just faster than Rp fighting. After reading every bit of those lots of pages, my opinion doesn't change.

with the stupid rule of /damage 20 i do not blame people for trying to win, since most villains do want the loot but walks away with more than what they should have. I think i mentioned this in another post, one gets robbed and killed he should perhaps give up one armor piece, the sword and a small pouch of minas. Not like i said three stacks of cobblestone, ten stacks of logs and two yummy bundles of bread. It should not work like that, that is what i call discouraging and i will sure as in the nether make sure that if someone forces me to /damage 20 see to it that the person grabs the items RPly.

One armor piece? A small pouch of Minas?

A Bandit group will take anything of value. They will probably take all of your minas, all of your weapons and all of your armor. It really isn't a stupid rule. Its more stupid of you to go around carrying valuables without a guard. And they actually might take your cobblestone and logs. Maybe they could sell, or maybe they are making a little camp. The highway should be a feared place, not a place that you can go having tons of Iron and not care at all of bandits. Also, yeah, they will take those two yummy bundles of bread. Bandits have to eat too y'know.

  •  Agrees to PVP default
  •  Refuses to default to PVP

Logic.

You know how well 'special exceptions' work, right?

Then i ask you to present a character that makes their living by only being a bandit. And no a chest plate is heavy enough to carry off, it is an OOC inventory that is not to be involved with RP and i was talking per persona. And no, if one would rob me and i had 10000 minas on my account does not mean i have that on my character, simply because there is no way to store minas. If it is RP then act like it is RP, with proper aftermath. Never am i going to /damage 20 and give up all the other items that my character would not actually have in Role-Play. I do not care if someone says "Buhu there is no such thing as an OOC inventory", but tell you what let Telanir code a plugin that locks every inventory spot except three+armor.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/90890-ban-report-on-mr-kurtis/

Ban report because a person PVP-ed without letting the other party know.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/90795-ban-report-on-xspullerx/

Ban report on a person that abused game mechanics during what was supposed to be a RP fight, if you ask the reporter and a PVP fight if you ask the reported. It's tough to understand, but I think that's the jiff of it.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/90196-ban-report-silent-slayer/

Ban report on a person for poweraming and OOC bickering during an RP fight.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/89777-ban-report-powergaming/

Ban report on multiple people that powergamed and returned to their deathspot WITH their memory intact during a PVP fight.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/89944-strike-report-on-jspencer10/

A strike report on a person that powergamed and OOC insulted someone during an RP fight.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/90078-strike-report-on-tntlover12345/

A strike report on a person that attacked PVP without previous RP and took IC into OOC.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/89825-strike-report-on-acanadiancraft/

A strike report for TS abuse. Nothing to do with this, I just didn't want to skip anything so I didn't get accused of only telling one side of the story and/or lying.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/89601-strike-report-on-xtreme-prodigy/

A ban report on a person trying to one-emote kill without a VA.

Let's recap.

There are 3.5 reports on PVP issues. (One is half RP, half PVP)

There are 3.5 reports on RP issues.

It isn't RP or PVP that causes arguments- it is immaturity.

To Freya- I said that knowing it will never happen. Therefore, I do not vote for PVP default.

There is no such thing as an OOC inventory. It is powergaming to do such. I am sick and tired of players making up their own rules like that.

It's okay to say that you only carry X minas on you, though, as long as you're not deliberately scamming the other party.

RP fighting does not prohibit the OOC lust for items. You can just be asked to damage 20 by the victor. For RP fighting to remain viable, the whole server would need to be rebuilt from the ground up. Half the bureaucracy we deal with on LotC stems from item hungry RP fighters who will do anything to win.

Yes, but PvP as default will allow people to kill without fun or enjoyable roleplay by the other party.  Granted RP fighting does cause bickering, and yes, PvP could provide opportunities for RP before and after, but PvP as default will enable those item-hungry players to deprive their victims of RP.

How do you explain the extra space then? We do not RP eating, breathing and nor do we RP the huge inventory, should we make these mandatory then? Making it RPly possible to carry a stack of logs which is about...20 full grown trees. That sounds like powergaming.

That's complete snozzcumbers.

If someone does insufficient RP before killing you, you file a ban report. People can be just as 'item hungry' with RP fighting as PVP fighting.

I also ask you, how many "item hungry" players do you know? I think that's a hugely inflated and artificial problem.

You don't need to explain everything in great detail. That's partially why I can't RP much anymore when I feel tired - I have to be specific with everything down to minute detail or some people just aren't happy and complain.

OOC inventory has the connotations of the fact that the items don't exist in the game world, since you took them from somewhere and they magically vanish into the OOC void or whatever. I could say that my legendary sword Excelsior is an OOC item since it's too heavy for my character to carry. That's complete rubbish, and is just an excuse not to lose items.

I am simply fed up of dealing with situations where players swear upon their seven sky-souls that everything in their inventory is an OOC item. We never made rules about this. It's not allowed.

That's beside the point. Whatever is in your inventory is fair game. The size of the inventory is because we are a Minecraft server, not another game.

If there are so many people in both camps, won't people who prefer PvP have no problem getting in touch with other people who also prefer PvP. Same thing for the vice versa.

We are an RP server, that applies power and meta gaming into account. Should we blame minecraft for having nametags because its minecraft default?

No no no, roflmao. We're a Minecraft server that has decided to take the approach of roleplay with the help of a myriad of plugins, which is wonderful.

And no we don't blame nametags because they don't make any difference. I was just saying, put your stuff in a chest, and all problems will be solved.
