Will there be Pseudo-Items for cooking? Such as utensils, spices, or foods that don't exist in Minecraft? Tomatoes, onions, salt, pepper, pots, pans, etc.

Thank you for placing the summary, thought I won't be voting, I need real details to really.... comment.

Also, I would probably lose some parts, and not enjoy some of the others. Good job anyway, I have to hear more of this soon.

In the Dev. blog it said something about your health can go up if you practice with practice dummies, etc. How will this work? I really don't feel like this is going to add to RP by walking over to a practice dummie every 10-20 minutes just to get my health up.

Oh, and yes, I also live under a very large rock, but will you have the ability to have more then one profession? Like, I see Scholar and Alchemist complimenting each other.

Pseudo-items will have to be things that are worn, or directly affect the character. Otherwise, those utensils and etc. can simply be re-named items with a different recipe. So yes there might be.

A full list of professions will be released a few weeks before Nexus is added to LotC.

I dislike.

It seems like it'll be very complicated and hard to adapt to. Simplify it a bit and we'll talk. I did come to this server because I wanted to play on Minecraft, not on a wholly different game.

No, that's not how its going to work. Health remains the same for everyone, maybe skill changes but that's about it.

Yes, you can master up to 3 professions in a realistic timeframe, 4th mastery takes a rather long time, and 5 can take up to a few months.

To respond to both of these points, Nexus is something that intends to add in a bunch of minor and major details, as well as shaping existing ones a bit too. It's not intended to completely overwhelm, as most parts will remain the same and change very little.

 

This remains a Minecraft roleplay server with a plugin bonus. Nexus is filled with features people don't realize they need right now, but are suffering without.

I don't know how I feel about people being able to master so many professions. It seems that given enough time everyone on the server would be masters of a large number of professions, cutting down greatly on the need for specialized workers or craftsmen.

I'd say 3 professions maximum. 4-5 is just way too much. 

There are tons of professions though. They're all very specific.

Very good points, well since 1 profession can be something like Glassworker, you wouldn't want to be limited to just that. But I will give it some thought, there can most likely be a compromise.

Yes, you can trade/drop pseudo-items. They can also be stolen.

I'm also thinking of those who will take every singly fighting profession and max it out even if it makes little sense for them. Or just those who will be a farmer even though they are a warrior, just so they can get more food.

 

With only 3 or 2 profession choices you have to make sure to choose carefully and only take what counts for your char.
