Your View: Map Expansion

make more islands, sink the wilds in some earthquake or something... Turn it into a giant, sunken place with ruins scattered all over and have some dwarf to invent water helmets.

With the current system, more land means more empty settlements, unless there's a way to stop this, then I'd leave it as it is.

This be my view to, as it stands, general Australians can hope for maybe 20 players online at times after work/school, and that really is difficult. Add onto that the current spread of players, its almost impossible to find good RP. I'm aware that the world doesn't revolve around Australia at all, or even this server for that matter, but I'm using it as a point to try and suggest that there is plenty enough room already. People need to focus more on interacting with others rather than the generic Minecraft gather and build style gameplay that this server is clearly not about, thus my only suggesting is an extension of Wilds land beyond the current map, as I feel this is the best compromise, and would allow a consequence to building outside of a protected region (by this I both mean by guards, and WorldGuard), and would thus bring back some risk, and reduce the 'I didn't give permission OOC ban that guy' excuse. But yeah, my cents.

NO SETTLEMENTS! Just all natural beaty and a few mines in them ya hear? And what Hob said, fast travel but I think in the form of wagons and caravans. Also I think with many peaceful mobs and the occasional baddy at night.

What I'm curious of is what would the expanded land be? Anthos itself, islands, the wilds?

And just a quick suggestion that I've had in mind for quite some time, I saw something where Ever said that the wilds is not easy enough to find. Well, there has been a dock at the CT for quite some time that has nothing on it, it's just there. I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult to set up a small boat and a fast travel right there and put a bunch of signs saying 'boat to the wilds this way!'. That'd be quite beneficial for new players instead of having the boat on a forgotten road halfway across the map.

Yes, definitely expand the map. Maybe we could have this:

And maybe this:

Really, though, a landmass ~half the size of Anthos as a whole (from Dwarves to the North) would solve (partially) the problem of the tiny wilds, if properly regulated.

Personally I'd be fine with a whole landmass.

I personally don't think we need more land. Anthos already has much land not in use. As Ever said, we can't unregion them due to staff differences, which is fine. What we could do is build ruins in the already existing areas. The Orcish Badlands, for example, is a massive desert. I've scouted out the area before, and it's pretty damn empty. We could build ruins and crypts that haven been buried in sand for players to explore. I would be down to write lore for them if needed as well, and have thought of doing so for a while. There are also many mountains, plains, and forests where we could place ruins and other event structures.

If we were to come out with new landmasses, they would be claimed in an instant. I personally don't think that there would be a real way to regulate it with all of the land-hungry players that we have on the server. Whining would be done, someone would give in, and bye bye new lands.

About the abandoned town problem, I think that we should have the Antags just burn them down in RP. They used to do raids, and once they figure their stuff out and raid again, they can raze the towns they conquer. It would give an RP end to the town that someone has undoubtedly worked hard on. Also, to prevent this problem from reoccurring, I would love to see a charter system or something. Maybe establishing a town is a Donator Perk? I normally hate seeing things in RP being decided by OOC, but the ridiculous amount of useless settlements calls for it. Thanks for reading~

Perhaps an expansion in which the land was not available for individuals to build in, rather a place to explore and find treasures. Allowing more settlements seems unnecessary and will eventually just create more clutter.

The only land expansion I really want to see is the release of the North.

No, there will just be more towns, and spread out RP even more, I am entirely against the idea.

I would like to see a new area of the map inhabited by monsters (similar to the wilds but even more) with a huge mountain range creating a circle around the area with a small gap in a valley allowing entry. In the centre a lone tree. Outside of this area small marshes for housing. We're talking like single small hunters cabin for housing. But a restriction would be placed so the area doesn't become to cluttered.
