Vayan read over the missive from her home, letting off a deep sigh. There was nothing for her to say on the matter, the words of an Adunian prince making her feel helpless in any of her peoples' troubles. Were they even her people? What did it matter, the kings would get what they wanted no matter what promises were made. She did smile though, proud that her mother somehow came out of it all with her mind and heart intact. When her brother arrived home, she would slide the notice over to him instead in hopes he has more thoughts on it than she. @Spoopy_Duck

"I have never met a larger pathetic group of people. The Shugonate has gone downhill terribly to force unattunement on Caius of all people." Murmured Vayan Vulnrith within her home in Caurost. "It is even funnier when you realize he hardly spends his time in Iryalen to begin with, not enough for this missive to matter to anyone. I do not even think the Spore Druid or Arcelia do either... They may as well be myths, but we both know how certain druii love to make assumptions based off of nothing. It is almost as bad as that time Caius had his entire home burned down.. You know the one hidden in the caverns. They pretended they had no clue who did it to the poor Bog, but yet they are such great investigators to pick out shadows to prosecute." "It is just another pathetic ploy to undermine Iryalen and to make themselves feel large as they once were in Du-Loc." The woman tore the page once "Iryalen had been on good terms with the Shugonate for so long, I wonder which sensitive bug Caius had poked too hard this time." She tore the pages again "I mean really.. and you have to imagine that this demand was only 'substantiated' by other Druii with weak stomachs, as they have always been. I can pick them out name by name." Once more the paper was torn a third time, and she'd drop the pieces on the table at her side. "Any thoughts?" She'd ask of her brother "Surely not, you are just as absent as the three Druii they picked from a hat." @Spoopy_Duck

I will also make a nice little response. Here are the people I am thankful for on this goofass server @Dymase and @glassyskies I am obviously thankful for these two. Glassyskies being my best friend of 10 years and Dymase being a great friend in general. Both of which I love and appreciate so much and who offer so much value to my life. @Deets and the rest of Petra who are all just very wonderful. Deets is someone I can tell anything to and is a very great friend. He and everyone else has made me feel so valued and welcomed in the community. @RaiderBlueand @AkrassiaI love both of them very much despite how much they bully me. They're both just so funny and I am very thankful to have them as friends in my life. They both are very good listeners, and I am very glad to have so many opportunities to spend time with them from friendslop games to getting to just sit in vc with them. @Moenahand @TavThese two are literally the funniest people ever and I am very lucky to call them my friends. I just know when I am feeling very down that I can turn to these two and they always put a smile on my face. @BoyWonderrEven though I am TERRIBLY mean to you (you deserve it) I also am very thankful to have this guy as a friend. He and I argue way too much about stupid things but I know there is a lot of care we hold for one another. I am very happy that after meeting you in my attic in Helena that you managed to come back around via Glassy. Youve been a very good friend. @jqsmlne YOURE SO BEAUTIFUL TOO (**** you spoopyduck) There are many others too like @Deer__ @BasicDoctor@MapleSunflower@squakhawk@NightOfTheWind@Maiyun@Nectorist@Lockagesand so many others that I cant ping you all. Happy thanksgiving!

The Archduchess Magdalena read over the missive more than once as it was offered to her by her husband. A deep sigh was given as she offered the writing back with a flick of her wrist. "From what I heard, it sounds like Iohannis was not fit to lead anyways though not everyone is. Do not mistake me for saying the coup was right. I am just baffled that so many people believed they could save an already sinking ship with such a large hole in its side. The bickering on both sides is silly. They let their home flicker out for so long that so many of their own nobility felt the need to take matters into their own hands regardless of possible consequences. It sounds like not enough people cared enough to fix things the right way, and too many people cared so much that they no other choice but to go about it the wrong way." The Valkonen offered a light shrug "Send them a letter if you wish though, I am sure a conversation would be nice." @Deets

THE RIVER’S BLESSING Issued and averred by Their Graces & Atstana de Regne Petrère 197 “And I have also breathed life into your heart, and the hearts of your children. And I have given you life: I am your father, and the father of all things.” Virtue 1:5-6 BELLS ECHOED IN THE CITY OF RIVIÈNSE, announcing the birth of the first child of the Archducal family. A son has been born to the House of the Petra, bearing the name ALBÉRIC ÈTIENNE TEMESCH OF THE PETRA. @BoyWonderr Named Albéric for the knight Albéric du Lac, uncle of Queen Catherine I of the Petra, a figure who embodied the chivalric qualities lauded in the Knightly Commonwealth. It is a day of revelry and celebration within the Commonwealth, for both the babe and the Archduchess are in good health, now recuperating within the Palais Madelaine. It is said that within the taverns dotting the clifftop city, cheers echoed late into the night in celebration of the news, as well as to the health of both the Archduchess-Regnant Magdalena and newborn boy. In accordance with Pétrine tradition, Albéric Ètienne is declared as Heir to the Petran Commonwealth, styled as the COUNT OF VALFLEUR, as was his father before him until such a time as he ascends to the Garmont Throne of Petra. A private ceremony of baptism shall occur in the future, presided over by the Bishop of Casica so that the boy may be brought into the light of the True Faith. Those close to the Archduke and Archduchess shall be invited to bear witness to the ceremony within the Chapel of Saint Rhosyn. S I G N E D, HIS GRACE, Joseph Antonius Aurèle, Archduke of the Petran Commonwealth, Marquis de Riviènse & Val d’Estenou, Count of Moere, Neraquelles, Temesch, Torm Marian, and Vallagne, Viscount of Mies, Baron of Eagles Peak, Garmont, Hrenthorne, and Resmore, Protector of the Meadows. HER GRACE, Magdalena Anastasya, Archduchess-Regnant of the Petran Commonwealth, Marquise de Riviènse & Val d’Estenou, Countess of Moere, Neraquelles, Temesch, Torm Marian, and Vallagne, Viscountess of Mies, Baroness of Eagles Peak, Garmont, Hrenthorne, and Resmore, Protector of the Meadows & Dame of the Petrine Laurel.

Magdalena heard plenty of his worries throughout the last couple of years and was well aware of his thoughts regarding the responsibilities that now fell to him. Her gaze had fallen onto him and for a moment she thought of one of their first conversations had together as children. Despite how nervous she was in her new role, Magdalena offered her husband a smile and a response filled with plenty confidence. "And it will continue to."

I really enjoy this comment because as someone who would also consider herself part of this community, I agree that using certain aspects of homophobia or generally targeted hate can cause for good and interesting roleplay. However, I have been on the server since 2019 and what I have noticed from people who do roleplay that involves racism and homophobia is that they are typically never truly in it for said 'good and interesting roleplay.' This tends to be the problem with this roleplay because there is a thin line between what they are roleplaying for a narrative, and what they truly believe on an ooc level. As much as people will want to deny that this isn't true, we see it right here in this very text thread. While I may think the rule is silly in some aspect, I am someone oocly who has the luxury of not needing to struggle with their identity or how they feel. However, I am very happy to be someone who can accommodate and make room for people who might find some peace in this rule. There are plenty of younger people in this community who maybe do struggle with homophobia or general bigotry in their real lives. The last thing we want is some closeted homophobe using their character as a catalyst for their hatred, making the younger demographic feel unsafe in a community they might use for comfort. This is a very real comment sent to me from the Church discord. I blocked out the names for privacy and because chances are they would simply say this was a joke anyways. While this comment may be funny to them and their group, there are a lot of other people who may not find it so entertaining. Who cares though, right? It's just for roleplay.

Well, I think the awesome thing about LOTC is that it's a Minecraft server that you don't have to play on. As adults, the one thing people forget they're capable of is closing their laptop or deleting the server from their list. If your minecraft server won't let you practice your real bigotry under a Mineman god, then you are fully in your right to go practice it in real life under your real god.

Vayan Vulnrith would sort through letters and missives delivered to her; all worldly news laid right there on her table. The threat of a continued war caught her eyes quickly, and she'd skim through the words for the sake of just getting it off of her desk... In the end, she'd think of the large empty manors that took over the island Balian shared with her people. A grimace was offered alongside a few words. "Damn... Makes you think, man. Makes you think."

HILEIA ADONT'AHERN: A Message to the Nevaehli
Phersades replied to Junoix's topic in The Notice Board
Vayan Vulnrith read through the missive delivered to her by her youngest sister. "It is a shame, little dove, how hard she works only for it to feel like she is being treated like nothing. She has always loved her people, It breaks my heart how they will not even give her a chance. Things are not healed overnight..." - "It feels as if votes matter little, and faith is only awarded by those who get what they want." The young fox cooed softly, offering the parchment back to her sister. "We stick together though, yes? We will do our best to show them we mean well." Though her brow furrowed deeply in worry, she'd still manage to offer a smile. @liz -
Vayan's response to her mother's shock was sweet and simple, perhaps he was still on her mind from recent discussions. "On God."

The NOTORIOUS Barry B Gets invited to a Wedding
Phersades replied to Zqppy's topic in The Viridian Enclave
"Humans live such short lives...... To spend what precious moments you have to write such a missive rather than spending it with your wife, kids, or the soldiers you bunk with." Vayan Vulnrith would grimace, tearing it up and throwing it into the same fire Caius had disposed of his. "It is very telling..." -
Vayan Vulnrith had been given the news upon her arrival back in Nevaehlen. The day had been long, draining her of energy and thought. This detail, as small as it might be to some, was grand for the family of foxes. The way Vayan saw it, every citizen of Nevaehlen should feel the same pride she did to know the future was bright at the hands of her mother and those The Grand Fox would guide. Vayan was compared to Sonna often, but she thought so few were blessed the way her mother was. In the comfort of her own, she would dream of the years to come, and the work her family would put in to make Nevaehlen something... new. Even Valah and Uruk at the far ends of the land would see it, perceive it, something grand.

Vayan Vulnrith, the youngest of Aurelion and Sonna's three children, would be given the news first-hand through her father as she lounged around that seed hall with her older brother Laurie. The news, as joyous as it was, caused the Vulnrith's jaw to drop. The girl quickly turned to her brother and seconds after the event was announced to the two, she'd blurt out the question.. "WE'RE BASTARDS?" @Spoopy_Duck

A BIG BLOODY NÚMENEDAIN WEDDING (AND GAMES)
Phersades replied to SimplySeo's topic in High Kingdom of Idunia
The Princess’s Handmaiden happened to hear the comment as she tended to something nearby. Eyrah shook her head slightly as she spoke. “I am very happy for Lemy and your brother. We will have to bring her some nice gifts to ease her mind in the large crowd…” -

The Grand Frog Race [!] A drawing of two frogs racing would be attached with the words "this is what I imagine they will look like" scribbled underneath. Hello people of Aevos! I am Vayan Vulnrith (I know, it is a very important and cool name unlike my brother, Laurie. What kind of name is that?) and I am writing this missive to invite you (YES YOU!) to a frog race here in my very lovely home, Amathine. Now you may be asking yourself ‘Vayan, sweet girl, what is a frog race?’ and to you I say it’s extremely self-explanatory! Just in case you still do not know, I will tell you because I, Vayan Vulnrith, am kind and beautiful. A frog race is a race either in the city or on the beach nearby where we will see whose frog (and it is Bring Your Own Frog, we do not provide those) is the fastest. I was not originally going to HOST a frog race because I do not know many other people but It was suggested by my beautiful and lovely aunt, THE HIGH PRINCESS IDRIL SYLVAERI. Of course, being the humble, loyal, beautiful, kind servant I am to my High Princess, I obliged and HAPPILY SO. Itinerary Ten UNINTERRUPTED facts about Frogs. Before we begin the event, I will be giving you all ten very interesting facts about Frogs. There will be no negotiating the facts, there will be no interruptions of my facts, there will be no giving me facts in the middle of me giving you facts, and there will be no diversion of attention from my facts. The Race Once more, we will race the frogs. I will not explain this again. There will be a prize for the top three winners! Grand prize will include 150 mina! There will be ten racing slots, so if you wish to race your frog. Please send a letter to me, Vayan Vulnrith, and I will write you down as a contestant. Please do give me the name of you and your frog so we can introduce you before the race begins! Please bring as many people as you can to cheer you on as well! The Celebration We will celebrate the winner with cheese and grape juice (and for the adults, I will convince my father, THE AURELION VULNRITH, to bring wine for you all.) Invitations Well… I was really hoping that this would bring other children here between the ages of five and maybe fifteen but I will not be picky! While making friends is a top priority, it is still not above the undying loyalty and love I have for Amathine so even the adults will be invited and allowed to participate as they please! On top of any child who wishes to come, I also extend invitations to The Nation Vortice And the Haelunor people Annndddd I suppose I will invite those of Nevaehlen as well. Petra is also allowed to come And Haense And Norland, Reinmar, Hyspia, and….all other humans! (should they wish) Oh and Lurin! Signed, The best Vulnrith child, Vayan Vulnrith!

Nikolai Mikhail Kortrevich had taken his time getting to the seven skies, yet upon his arrival, he found himself among all his children except one. He had been so hopeful that his children would live longer and fuller lives than he had, so he'd happily wait for Josefina as long as he must. That Count had loved all of his children, but his daughters held a special place in his heart. He remembered them all being so different from one another; Esfir had been quite cold but far more cunning than he could have imagined; Inessa was quiet and reserved; and Josefina had been so outgoing and kindhearted — a trait he was certain she hadn't inherited from him. He vividly recalled the pride he felt for his youngest, entrusting Wilhelm when he sought his daughter's hand, knowing Josefina would not only grace her own house with pride but also bring honor to the Ducal House of Barclay. He regretted not staying longer to see her build the family she did, but he knew he would meet them when it was their time. And after many years, when Josefina took her last breath and entered the skies, Nikolai would be sure to welcome her with the same warm smile he often did when she was just a girl. "Oh, my little dove, what a life you have lived."
