  2. One must then consider the idea of thanium heat discharge being countered by thanium heat absorption, and the fact that if you hit a vest with thanium studs with a medium spell, all thanium in the general area would share the brunt of the mana influx, and then be quickly countered by the unaffected thanium's ability to absorb heat. In such then the more thanium studs, the harder it would be to over charge the thanium because the less the load each stud suffers, and the more studs there are to counter the heat. While a high level powerful spell may simply instantly convert the thanium into its resulting counter force causing the reaction, medium spells on the other hand with a set bit of time between them would be able to be absorbed constantly at a persistent rate as the extra thanium or any thanium that did not overcharge would immediately begin absorbing its own heat likely causing a discharge of mana equal to the spell that triggered the reaction to be released into the immediate area surrounding the wearer. What this influx of chaos mana to the immediate area would do, I couldn't really determine, though I would assume the chances are it would be harmful to some level. Just pointing out a flaw with the heat penalty needing further explanation into the effect thanium has on thanium when creating a heat exchange/mana exchange infinity loop ((in the way that as the mana would be released from absorbing the heat, it would most likely be the same abount of mana as was originally absorbed whch would then cause the thanium to absorb it, release heat, absorb the heat, release mana, add infinium.)) (((also..couldn't one then in theory use thanium as a power source for heat, by simply pumping it with a medium spell every so often to continue the heat release.)))
  3. So anyone know why we have heard nothing about the dungeon event so far? it was supposed to be almost a half hour ago

Even the "victims" said themselves that there was no hostiltiy and they didn't interpret it as a raid.

  6. *A final note is posted* "Thaniums mind effecting traits are less like a neurotoxin and mor elike a drug where too much quickly becomes dangerous, resulting in the degradation of the mind of one who continues to consume it or inhale it. This would explain why non magic users such as myself who have undergone long term exposure but not ingested the material find themselves unaffected by anything other then a bone chilling cold, though again for mages the effects vary compared to non mages but also require exposure through inhalation, ingestion or a wound caused by a thanium blade. As such general exposure remains non lethal if the amount ingested/inhaled is small enough. There for as I stated previously since the thanium is used in tiny shards encased in an air tight sealed gold stud inhalation or ingestion is nigh impossible and so not dangerous. The second layer of heavy wool prevents any frostbite from the studs as well. You also seem to have misunderstood, I am not selling thanium, nor a garment made of it, but the knowledge on how to make a garment that supports archers that uses thanium as a minor part." ((For reference the lore behind thanium's dangers https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/109124-the-dangers-of-thanhium/))
  7. *The notices are reposted* To the parties posting above: 1: Items or minas are fine. 2: It is not a toxin, but ingestion seems to have effects as if it was one. Possibly due to the nature of thaniumm. 3: Its not an alloy, the shard of thanium is encased in gold to protect it and the wearer, reducing the chances of the material shattering, and insuring that even should it do so the dust and the smaller shards are still encased and do not reduce the effectiveness of the Thanium or the amount present. 4: Unless you have the authority to make such demands/threats I suggest one research more on thanium before attempting to spread fear. As neither party was willing to sign their name I will assume it was two parties acting on their own fear should such an armor find use among non magic users.
  8. *The note is pinned around various cities* "For sale, one Thanium Studded Tunic recipe. This recipe would be of use to a highly skilled leather worker and requires the use of Crude Thanium and a blacksmith to make the Studs. If you wish to make an offer please do so by pinning your offer next to this notice. Due to the nature of this item no price is set and will be sold should an offer interest me. minas or should such not be the method one wishes to pay items are accepted. Offers of an artifact or relic will see a priority due to my interest in them for study." Signed- Tenshar
  9. *Sitting in the Huntsman's Lodge, Tenshar goes over recent notices involving the various active bounties when he comes across the notice looking for crew for the Giant Squid hunt. He sighs, knowing he has plans that day and won't be able to assist them. He posts a small note next to the board.* "If you bring me a sample or such back I'll pay for the research material. 200 minas." ((Would go but got a wedding to go to on sat. In case I do get back home before 8pm, which is possible, I'll leave my app below)) Name: Tenshar Karkun Age: 167 Race: Half Elf Skills: Siege engineer, with knowledge and experience using ship mounted ballista and catapults against both ship based targets and large sea creatures, with a confirmed kill on a megaladon. Shipwright, helped build the Syrio's Beard for Alras and worked for Cove Co. on a number of various large galleon class ships. Bowman, uses a recurve bow with ferrum tipped arrows and enchantments. Are you aware of the time we will be setting out, and can you confirm you will be able to make this date.? (August 15 Sat at 8pm est): ((Possibly, depends on when I get back from the wedding.))
  10. FYI if your found using weightless armor it is considered making use of a known glitch. I suspect with it becoming so public the gms will be taking more action on those using such.

Bring what you wish to sell and a price, and if you have the name or names of those involved in bringing the beast down such would be appreciated as I intend to mark their names below where the item is displayed. 13. These disconnect/rollbacks are getting mighty frigin irritating. Log on, minute later server goes down again..like clockwork.

  14. So someone mind explaining who had the bright idea it was to nerf minas drops from 1 on averageho has to .1? We have argued over this since ageis and its always been the same result, put minas drops on mobs and set it between 1-5 with a rare higher drop..stop ignoring this fact..

You have to have both suppliers and purchasers, as is right now most people are just supplying. As of right now with .1 minas drops, which is 1/20th the price of a single loaf of bread, that wont change. Give it some time and a couple people will hoard the larger part of the minas changing hands, and the market will either die, or be forced to continue to lower prices or reduce supply greatly.

  16. "Research directed at finding weaknesses of the creatures the items come from, and finding possible uses for the parts. After which they will be displayed at the Huntsman's Lodge which I own along with if possible the name of those who hunted the creature."
  17. It was around back then? That's good to find out, I was not sure if anyone had ever put such a thing to use. Back when I built the test model on the Cove Co. Island no one ever mentioned such so I had assumed no nation had put such to use.
  18. *Hearing of the recent failed hunt, the scholar sits down at his desk and begins sketching a new idea he had for fighting the beast. Soon after on the paper appears what looks like a boat, but with no sails and no crew area. Instead along the side are iron spikes designed to be difficult to pull out once embedded, which are mounted to pistons. A side view of the interior reveals a reinforced frame of iron loaded inside with blocks with the letters TNT written on them. The second last picture shows the Destroyer wrapping its arms around the fake ship only to have the spikes dig into its arms as they are projected out by the pistons, sticking the ship to its arms as it pulls them back under. The final picture is the ship exploding, the spikes ripping through the arms as the metal frame turns into dangerous shrapnel tearing limb and flesh of the destroyer. The blueprint is slipped away into a pouch as he heads to a near by market to acquire about tnt.* "Seems like something the dwarves would make...."
  19. Pretty much, though its this size more so just for MC representation. The arrows it fires would be about the same size as a real hwacha fires though if you wanted to increase the cost of each arrow you might be able to fire small javelins/spears for larger nastier monsters depending on the et/gm/admin present. Smaller versions that only have 4-5 firing slots can be made, and even ones with just 1 slot or 2. If this approved I intend to then work to the Japanese Fire Arrow which is their single shot version of the Korean Hwacha and would be more effective for hunting on land things like the Wyvern.
  20. *Luke's notice is removed from it's position and replaced by another note with Luke's note pinned just below it.* "Oren laws only apply to Oren in which I do not live ,there for the law is invalid in this situation. Oren does not own the monster hunting business and can only apply its laws to Oren lands. Though to be honest this seems like it would be difficult to enforce on Oren citizens either way since most items are likely kept stored in secure areas not in sight of others. You want people to buy these licenses at least give them a reason that beneficial to them instead of just costing them minas. Like say an official hunters lodge for them to trade of tales, tricks and parts with a license required to enter. As it is currently, its just grabbing for money and so even those within the law's effect will likely try to avoid paying for it till it becomes something more. As such, my offer stands as this law does not apply."
  21. RP story- Known only to a very few the first Fire Rain Ballista was actually developed for ship to ship and land to ship combat to be used on various ships sailed by the pirates *Ahem* I mean merchants of Cove Co. many many years ago. Created by an engineer who had worked for Alras during the days of the cannon the weapon took ideas from both cannons and ballista and combined them to create a weapon able to toss very large flaming arrows in groups between 4 to 12 depending on the weapon size up to 500 yards. Though the arrows launched are much larger then anything fired by mortal hands they do not carry the weight of ballista bolts as they are designed to fly much further and with greater accuracy. ((Some may remember seeing the model I had built on the Cove Co.'s island)). Development was not finished till the invention of fire works, at which point they were put to use as propulsion for the arrows being fired. Information on Use- The current intended use of this weapon is deployment against large threats out at sea, such as the Destroyer. Depending on the number of firing slots of the Fire Rain Ballista being used each slot adds a firing cost of 1 gunpowder, 1 iron bar, 2 sticks, 1 feather, 1 string, making up the propulsion source, tip, arrow shaft, fletching and fuse. The fire work propulsion is located just below the arrow tip, along with at times the addition of an oil soaked cloth wrapped tightly to turn the arrow into a fire arrow ((add 1 wool to represent cost)) The high cost limits its use, and loading and firing it requires knowledge in gunpowder, trajectory calculation and siege weapon use. OOC- IG wise the weapon will look something like this (this is a Land to Sea version). Each hole in the stone face is a firing position and increases the cost to fire. It's possible to make it larger but doing so messes up the general aesthetic and I would only recommend doing so if its a land based version. Top picture is the firing side, bottom is the back and wagon hook up for a horse and the drivers seat. ((IG but OCC)) The current owner of the blueprints for it is Tenshar Karkun aka "The Wandering Scholar"
  22. "Greetings" "I write this to inform the various hunters out there that should they wish to make an extra bit of coin I will be buying anything recovered from Bounty Monsters. Value will be based on inspection of the item with rare samples fetching a higher price." Signed- The Wandering Scholar (PM Kanrath in game if you have something to sell)
  23. "It was intended fer use on the leeches, but that's been dealt with. As such I don't need the tnt, but a shipment of grey powder/gunpowder fer use in my ongoing siege development for hunting the destroyer would be helpful. Let me know if you can make me some and the price and I'll get back to you."
  24. *Looks over the notice as he sits at the dock and can't help but sigh.* "Well outside anything but a full military vessel or three is going to take that thing down..a single megaladon nearly shredded a 4 masted Alrasian galleon with 10 balista before it was brought down and that was just a damn fish back a few worlds ago. Still remember the teeth big enough to be used as shields, only imagine what the teeth on this thing look like. Only seen one real sailing ship of late and shes as armed as a lass going to a ball so that ain't happening..." *Pins to the notice a quick note* "If a ship can be found to hunt this, I'll join her crew for a chance to see this beast and perhaps dive its nest in search of what was left behind by it's victims. I've sailed on 3 different galleons my life, including Syrio's Beard and have quite a bit of experience with siege weapons, their use and their design and combat with them on ships. You can contact me by bird. Signed- Tenshar Karkun" *His last words as he walks back to work are simply.* "Oh how I would kill tah be able to use the old cannons we designed on this beast.."
  25. *The encounter over, and only slightly less there for all the fire and the sudden massive explosion thanks to the near by water The Scholar sits down at the Dancing Igor and orders a drink. Sipping the strong ale (only kind real men drink) he ponders over the sudden unexpected encounter with the beast, its body aflame and the dead from past hunts hanging from its maw. They had not expected it when it showed up, the hippogriff, and even less so when it turned out to be an evolved form ablaze with fire and rage. Though they had reacted quickly the beast had burned a number of the group with its flames and though none had died it would be days or weeks before all recovered.*
