  1. Where are all threads with nice Almaris shader pics?

  2. I’ve been out of a working laptop as of last July & man this got me all sorts of frazzled that I can’t explore this map. I’ve been trying to explain to my friend IRL that I don’t play minecraft, I play LoTC. It’s the reason I got the game. Now I have an exciting video to explain it to them for me! You are the best!! edit: also for years and years we have seen our own community members dissing our entire community cuz “hurdur mineman rp nerds still play this?” so the positivity is very uplifting. We work with a medium just like others use DnD but we do it better because we do it together!
  3. This rendition of chi and the duality between the paths is a nice read.
  4. Not sure why you are acting like I **** in your coffee but dude... cold. Do you have one though? Asking for a friend. It’s the one thing on LoTC I have a connection to & I’d like to input my opinion to something I was passionate about. Of course it’s all you will see from me. I’m a magic goblin, you see? Also I’m not whining about being harassed. I’m whining about people taking every opportunity to criticize something that worked during that older iteration of LoTC magic (i.e. when everything was vague). It’s outdated & from a simpler time. It was obvious that it had to go come lore games. It is okay for me to request that lore writers leave out the big middle finger taglines in their OOC sections though. I know they don’t have to listen but I can still request. I recognize that it’s unintentional but I’m still here, reading your lore, getting excited about it. As for the lore I pinned; It’s been in lore channel for longer, hasn’t been talked about, and I thought seemed very similar in terms of aesthetics & theme. It seems like it could get in the way of the acceptance of this piece. Oh, but after thinking about it I agree about the event idea. It’s up to the players to create culture around something. It doesn’t work to force it via events. @Lhindir_my apologies if my initial comment was rather aggressive. Your lore is fine. I just get in a tude about lore sometimes.
  5. Before I give feedback I’d like to state something; I did not create Arcanism with any intention of it having an edge of other magi. I created a magic based on aesthetic and the freedom to choose what you did with it. It was largely used in events and the system of magic simply outgrew its standards. The only blatant thing about it is its diversity. It is upsetting to see so many people who used my lore slandering me and my years of work just so they can pander to the current ST. I loved my magic, I was a master of its artistic uses, and I understood why it had to go. I also understand why people want something like it back but please all who attempt to re-write my **** be a little kinder. Its hard to read something only to see a tags like this on the end. I’d like to return to my magic someday instead if feeling ostracized. As for actual feedback; Arcanism leaving the realm shouldn’t be explained via lore documents. It needs proper event lines if even just a small part returns. Otherwise it will still be missing the one thing that lead to its eventual hard shelving. Why? Why does it exist and what long term effects does it have on the world? How does this go from being a clique magic into being something cultural again? It should also be noted that if this lore below is accepted then you would very likely be able to do arcane weaponry, art, and structures.
  6. Mobile forums are still not working. Clicking anything just reroutes you to home page

The ads are also ******* insane. At least make them smaller.

I would make a bug report so people/ and tech can come back and look at exactly is going wrong, along with pictures from your screen.  it helps everyone out in the long run versus the one forum status that may get lost in a few hours

  7. Hello Arcanism & Celestialism remix. Why didn’t anyone ping me this is cool. edit: if it passes lore trial let me GF when I return ^_^
  8. Mobile forums seem to be bonked again. Cannot access the main forums, login, or access the side menu on mobile currently.

  9. @firespirit44 one of my favorite people on here. Sorry that we have spent so little time RPing & catching up over the years. Go get that bread.
  10. So let me get this right;

Nations must pay 700 minas a week to staff in order to exist.

Players only get 2-3 minas per vote.
So it takes 350ish votes a week (or 50 a day) in order to just stay afloat. Then those minas just vanish...

    What. Is. The. Point?

@Laeonathan either you aren’t following the same math as those above or you are out of touch. Can you explain how 1 player can get 210 mina a week off of 2-3 mina a vote? @jdesarno says 1 player can make 75 mina a week if they vote consecutively.

    3. Quavinir_Twiceborn

      Quavinir_Twiceborn

@jdesarnois incorrect. It is 30 mina a day. (6 times 5. You get 5 mina for each vote if you vote consecutively, 2+3). 30 times 7 is 210.

If you followed my Eshtael lore & proposal back in the day you would know that I am a firm believer that Eshtael uses a vast amount of golemancy (albeit an advanced form) in her prison realm.

  12. ^ The kind of people LGBTQ players have to deal with on LoTC.
  13. I have been in enough voice chats to know RP isn’t just RP. There is always OOC feelings mixed in. Not saying it should be done away with. I’m saying we should keep a closer eye on just how far we allow people to take it. In the end it is giving space to homophobes who find LoTC and the LGBTQ community are the ones paying the price.
  14. Homophobic Roleplay on LoTC is way too normalized and it ******* sucks.

Can’t wait for the next installment where we discuss how fun rape and genocide can be to RP! smh. I’m out.

I can agree with how hard it is to achieve historical accuracy, but without wanting to go too far from the topic at hand, “grim dark” can be much more than peasants spitting, and has to do with much more than language. Obviously this depends on the hand which wields it, and we all have different opinions and tastes, though some such as homophobia might be deemed unacceptable, and limiting its use might create further controversy in a roleplay community that already has staff deeply involved in most conflicts.

Okay but to be fair it’s kind of lotc’s own fault for making homophobia extremely likely among elves. A mostly infertile race would be extremely unwelcoming to those who refuse to try and increase their population. It just makes sense for them to be less welcoming to gays. If people want to explore that aspect of rp, it’s fine. As long as they don’t take it oocly, I don’t see a problem.

Genuinely appreciate the thoughts and opinions shared on my status. As a gay male I have advocated for using homophobia less and less since joining LoTC. It makes me uncomfortable & I don’t think is necessary for roleplay.

And I also advocate for less extreme uses of racism & sexism as well. A snow elven prejudice built from story scenarios seems okay but homophobia  started as an OOC religious concept that is forced down ***** throats time and time again. We come here to exist in a fantasy universe. It’s just shitty that people replicate the most traumatic parts.

I understand that the issue isn’t an easy fix but I’d rather be vicious in my reaction to it so you know how angry it makes me than to let it continue to silently fester.

  15. Apply critical thinking skills to your work on the ST. Don’t be afraid to call out other ST and make sure the players voice is represented in their chats. You are a doll though. ❤️
  16. Apparently Sea Elves are a thing now

  17. I see you have taken all the good bits out of celestialism lore
  18. fashion is pain. Okay but for real. I love my gray-spotted leopard kha. When I Am able to come back I want to be able to RP my kha the way I always had. Malv was my third kharajyr that I decided to play. It was during a time in Vailor were Kha weren’t exactly present on the map. The three of us founded the idea of Kharajyr going against the blessings & teachings of Metzli. Feeling that she abandoned them, each of them had different personality signifiers, and Malv’s was an egotistical outlook about himself based on creating his own kharajyr tribe. Whitening his fur with dyes (at the time we were under mechanical default so bonemeal dye worked just fine) was a way to separate himself from traditional culture and create his own thing. They were nomads. This lore has a heavy emphasis on 2 things: - Kha should be normadic instead of focused on building their own nation. - There is a dedicated faction of Kha that do not feel represented by the faith of Metzli. Whitening fur may cause RP issues but those issues existed 4-5 maps ago and some of us used it to build a narrative about our specific characters. It became a strong character fault for my own character. When you write lore about how the kha have become nomadic & how there is a faction of kha that go against the grain but then retcon characters like mine you are shutting down a potential line of activity. I picked kharajyr up and was planning to again because I have a very specific vision & history for a character. You need to start with freedom and gradually grow more specific. See what is popular and what works for the players and rally in-game behind those things. Freedom to roleplay. Freedom to choose. Let go of a few things and see if they help. Restrictions only bottleneck your potential RPers & as you have seen here there are a few of us who are drawn to this aesthetic.
  19. What if you skin a white furred-animal and glued that fur to your kha?
  20. as someone who also plays a white-dyed fur kha I agree. It doesn’t seem like something you can ban someone for so why make it a red line? Naturally white kha are gone & this lore states there is a faction that forbid metzli worship & she is gone so it makes sense that some kha would try to replicate that white fur for their own weird reasons.
  21. This lore states that they originate from Humans but the sugar thing makes them seem tied toe elves. I don’t think lore specifically states that elves have a sugar thing but it’s been roleplayed like that since Asulon. So... each subrace correlates to one of the four descendant races.
