  3. Enumerated Distinctions of Purity PREFACE: To be born an Elf of aheral blood is to be born pure. Rich beyond measure of mind and body, clean and superior. It is these riches that set the High Elven people apart from the base lesser, the base defiler, and the base impure. Such is the virtue of our birth that no Mali’aheral may be more pure than the newborn, who comes from the mother untainted and unabated by the corruption of the lesser world. It is the sacred duty of the Mali’aheral, in following the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, to safeguard our purity. To preserve this flickering light of greatness that burns in the minds of all High Elves, and not to let it be taken from us by the lesser or the impure. It is for this reason that the High Elven people must be ever vigilant of the impure, for while the lesser is easily seen, those who have been corrupted by the lesser world are not. They come dressed in the trappings and skin of kin, friends, and family. Twisted Elves vying to snuff out that spark of greatness in a mad fit of malice and jealousy; for once a High Elf has allowed themselves to succumb to the corruption of the impure world, it is almost impossible that they might ever truly be pure again. We know these Elves well: the schismite Izalith, the impure Maehr’tehral. Elves seeking to destroy the sanctity of our culture, who have fought time and time again to rid us of our greatness through encouraging that we succumb to the urges of occultism and romantic deviancy. These Elves are not unusual in their beliefs, merely in their power to exert them. Mali’ata such as these dwell all across the world and all around us, preaching of false liberation and freedom from within the confines of their own personal prisons of lust, degeneracy, and their own base nature. To maintain a good society, it is necessary that we reject the impure and that we shun the false shepherds of our people who would lead them astray, snuff out our spark of greatness, and destroy our guiding light. It is for this reason that this document on Laws and Distinctions of Purity exists. To protect you, the citizen, from corruption. To educate, to inform, and to defend. I beseech you be wary, kin, of any who would seek to strike down or rewrite rather than add to this document. For while our people and our scholasticism moves ever forward, the tenants of purity in the eyes of Larihei do not, and it is our duty to forever follow her perfect and unchanging vision so that our flame might never fade. Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of the City-State of Haelun’or, 10th of The Deep Cold, 18 S.E. THE DISTINCTIONS: Though purity transcends the word, it is necessary that it nonetheless be written. Such is the burden of education and of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, that we chronicle our knowledge for younger generations even when a definition and description would not lend the idea behind the words true credence, and so we do our best. Lariheic purity, or the mindset of Lariheism as derived from the uncatalogued teachings and oral traditions of Larihei, can be defined through the following labels of purity: the pure, the questionably pure, the impure, and the lesser. Simple at its surface but incredibly deep, the Lariheian doctrine emphasizes High Elves as creatures that are created pure and may only shed that purity over time through incorrect action and surrender to the world’s base urges. Namely desire of worldly sensations and accolades over service to their state and their people. The pure High Elf does not care for the worldly, is governed by logic and reason over emotion, strives to better both themselves and their country in equal measure, and passionately devotes their time and energy to the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. The impure High Elf cares only for the self or those who bring joy to the self, is governed by emotion and attachment, doggedly seeks pleasure and accolades to stimulate the senses and inflate the ego, and rejects both their kin and their community in favor of the self. In this way the Mali’thill (pure High Elf) is a distinct and elevated mind, and the Mali’ata (impure) is closer to a common animal and should be treated as such. Between these poles lies the questionably pure. The High Elf who behaves and presents with all of the rationale and sophistication of Elfhood, but who nonetheless exhibits suspect characteristics in their behavior. Arguably the most dangerous to High Elven society, it is these particular Elves who are so often infiltrators of the Haelun’orian political body, and who corrupt our culture from within as false leaders and guides. Whether through carelessness or insidiousness, it is these questionably pure Elves who are owed re-education that the questions of their purity might abate. I.1. The Pure (Mali’thill) To be pure is to be a High Elf who exhibits none of the characteristics of the questionably pure or impure. It is the Elf’s untarnished birthright, attacked and assailed only by suspect actions brought upon by the Elf’s behavior over time. As such, every High Elf without reason to suspect otherwise is most assuredly pure -- as is the enlightened nature of our blessed society. I.2. The Questionably Pure (Mali’aheral) To be questionably pure is to be a High Elf who expresses the influence of the unblessed. Tarnished silver, but not beyond reproach or restoration, who brings question upon themselves through their actions. The liberal regressor and the compassionate fool fall among this category, as do all Elves who would devalue their kin by considering them comparable in merit or worthiness to the outsider. Though not to be held explicitly as perpetrating crimes against Haelun’or or her people, Mali’thill must hold these questionable Elves in suspicion and stay vigilant to prevent their questionable inclinations from tainting the path of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. The questionably pure Mali’aheral... Lives outside of Haelun’or or otherwise expresses preference for the company of lessers. Spends time with lessers outside of the company of other High Elves, or outside of the public eye. Makes frequent trips beyond Haelun’orian borders outside the company of other High Elves. Subscribes to strange dietary tradition (eating only vegetables, or not partaking in milk or egg). Expresses compassion or admiration for the lesser beyond what could be expected of any creature. Behaves flirtatiously or hedonistically, partaking in excessive intoxication, smoking, or eating. Exhibits slothful behavior such as unemployment, or a lack of dutiful work at their place of employ. Participates in unmeritorious seditious speech against their state or the self-serving desire for accolades. Personally hoards resources or supplies without sharing the fruits of said supplies to their kin. The use of strange and foreign vernacular, such as that of the Dwarf or Orc, in common speech. I.3. The Impure (Mali’ata) To be Impure is to be one who has succumbed to the temptations of the lesser world in completion. Defilers, addicts, and wretches; the impure willingly slaves to worldly urges in neglect of the pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Irredeemable and hostile to all things pure, it is the duty of the pure High Elf to shun and destroy these defilers and shades of the blessed wherever they may be found such that they cannot corrupt and debase more of their kin through their influence; for to be impure is anathema to being blessed, and is the highest violation of law any Elf might ever commit. The impure Mali’ata... Permanently taints the mind or body through modification and/or the intense use of substances. Corrupts the body and mind with dark and perverse magics. Subscribes to the religious or spiritual practices of the lesser. Engages in public displays of affection with High Elves or lessers, especially outside of wedlock. Engages in procreation outside of wedlock, thus dooming their pure child to an impure upbringing. Engages in romantic or affectionate behavior of any kind with lessers. Engages in in romantic deviancy or homosexual behavior. Intellectually or ideologically rejects the laws of purity. Seeks to combat or raise arms against the mother country of Haelun’or. Seeks to weaken, divide, or create schism in the High Elven population. Perpetrates or assists in the murder, attempted murder, or mutilation of a Mali’thill outside of self-defense. Is found to be, or considers themselves to be, carrying a perverted mixture of pure and lesser blood. I.4. The Lesser (Turrir) To be Turrir is to be something inherently less than Mali’aheral. A creature that is short-lived and bereft of the great dreams that drive our kin in pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Those of the lesser world who do not carry the blood of the Mali’aheral in their veins are to be held beneath notice or consideration beyond that of an ephemeral visitor from a tainted place, except to be utilized in pursuit of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya or held as allies in the service of that cause, but never seen as true equals. Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of the City-State of Haelun’or, in accordance with the Silver Council of Haelun’or and will of the High Elven people
  4. DAWN OF A NEW AGE 4th of The Deep Cold, 8 SA Mali’thill of the blessed Silver State, our tireless labor has finally borne fruit. At long last the children of Larihei can finally reside in a new city that properly reflects the grandeur of our people. Despite the decrepit republic being but a distant memory, the lingering stench remained whilst we dwelled within the soulless confines of their so called architectural vision. No more. The City-State of Haelun'or rises under new banners, in new stride, with new vision -- reflected both in the grace of our will and surroundings. With the restoration of a true capital of Haelun’or, at last we can truly proclaim that the republic is dead and the revival is cemented. Rejoice in the knowledge that every one of our blessed citizens played a role in bringing us to this moment. From this day starts a new beginning. I beg you this, Mali'thill, consider this the first day in a new Silver Age for our people that shall span millennia. In recognition of this momentous moment, the citizenry can expect several events marking this new Silver Age in the coming elven days. I expect the Mali’thill shall settle into their new homes and explore while they wait for the coming festivities, which will be announced shortly, to commemorate our great success. Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of the City-State of Haelun’or, in accordance with the Silver Council of Haelun’or and will of the High Elven people
  5. Othelu Orrar felt a pleasant breeze roll through Haelun'or, though he knew not the reason.
  6. A missive is penned in reply, distributed far and wide among the dual nations and their allies. "To friends Feanor and Cullas Sylvaeri as well as their people, How happy we are in Haelun'or to see our friends in Elvenesse return to our good graces, that they might at long last take accountability for their actions with generosity towards our Silver State. The many thousand minas, the coal, and the blades dulled against them in the war all repaired and received; with pardon of our men it is as if nothing ever happened, and we may finally move past these petty squabbles. I'll not hear a word of surrender, for as they say in the forests of Elvenesse this is, put simply, peace in our time! Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of Haelun'or, in accordance with the Silver Council of Haelun'or and the will of the High Elven people"
  7. "A folly indeed. May the children of Malin find a home in Malinor, thus that as it was before so too shall it be again, for Haelun'or seeks only that Elvenkind prosper under just rule. Not that of terrorists and degenerates."
  8. Othelu Orrar thinks, for the briefest of moments, about Celiasil's Wood Elven concubine. He frowns.

  10. The journal is copied for Haelun'orian readers, but appended with words from the city's Sohaer. The page, then stamped and marked, was distributed. As was all knowledge spread under the blessed doctrine of maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. "Even this Republican sycophant would agree, in no unclear words, that the High Elves who followed the Republic abandoned their own city and retired from their jobs in public service to go and live under oligarchies and kingdoms, under the lesser, the moment the winds of change blew through their city. Like old leaves and old dust they were spirited away with the summer breeze, and now the heroes of this nation are laid bare. Celiasil beds Wood Elves in Elvenesse, the blessed bookkeepers who would abandon their people have either disappeared or shovel snow in Karosgrad for a pittance to buy parchment, and after four years all the Republic has produced in a desperate attempt for a few days extension of its half-life -- for the sake of clawing its way into another hour of relevance to the High Elven people -- is this document reeking of sour grapes and shipped to Haelun'or from the abandoners' refuge in Haense. Where we walk in Larihei's shadow, our dear chroniclers of Haense would walk in the Great Abandoner Nelgauth's. Despite its rotten foundations, as were the foundations of the Republic upon which it heaps ahistorical praise, I will not dismiss the merit of this document. It is, after all, history. History from a primary, albeit biased, source. Instead, I will focus on what makes this essay is at least somewhat accurate. The Republic was a dream. Temporary. Ephemeral. Gone without a fight or without notice from the dreamer, and only remembered by way of a journal. Nay, the Republic faded not the day the current system was signed into law, but the day the Republicans abandoned their people and left the Silver Walls to comingle with the lesser. To chase frivolous heights of corrupting pleasure abroad and, in the process, forsake the ways of purity. The High Elven Republic, the Mali'aheral Republic, the Haelun'or republic, had died long before the system that would replace it was formed. Cut away a thousand times by inefficiency, frivolousness, contests of popularity, and impurity. It was only once the crazed, enraged, degenerate children of Larihei did sacrifice the final dregs of purity and run to be among the lesser that the husk, bereft of all blood and life, finally crumbled away. Good riddance. May we remember it as the failure it was, and never again repeat it." Othelu Orrar Sohaer of Haelun'or and Leige of the Protectorate of Blazengard, in accordance with the Silver Council of Haelun'or and the will of the High Elven people.
  11. Othelu Orrar considers putting a locked door on the Dio Astore apartment ghetto.
  12. A breeze rolls through Haelun'or.
  13. Othelu Orrar loaded his supply of reddit gold into the city trebuchet, firing it off towards the Druidic Order in hopes the Druid would receive it.
  14. As before, Othelu grimaced from behind his telescope atop the great Sohaeriate world observatory. At least she'd finally stopped cramming raw meat into her face.
  15. On the Qualities of Lessers: Proto-Elves and Other Subversive Myths It is a well known feature among the lesser races of our world that they crave to be like us. It is the reason why humans powder their skin and adorn their bodies with fragrance. The reason why Dwarves revere silver hair and beards as symbols of wisdom and respect. The reason why our fellow Elves crave our light and fair skin and eyes, pursuing the arts of alchemy to change and adjust their visage into a mirror of purity. So it is that envy takes on many manifestations, but there is none more envious than the impure. A creature that is vile and wicked, whose envy festers not into pitiful displays of mimicry but in an even uglier form of spite and animosity. The impure wants to be us. This much is known. But the impure also knows they cannot, and thus deludes themselves into a sense of false superiority at every turn. We see this in the Snow Elves and Sea Elves. The Aquatic Impostors, who seek to capture the legacy of Larihei’s nobility and progress by corrupting our blessed legacy through the murky lens of seawater or melted snow. And more recently we see this in the so-called “Proto-Elf” or “Ancient Elf.” The impure who deludes themselves not only culturally, but racially, in a laughable manifestation of their envy and desire for superiority bordering on mental illness. Do not be deceived by the insanity of the impure. Do not be deceived by the Ancient Elf myth. There are no fair skinned children of Malin. Only fair skinned children of Larihei, and those among them who shun their mother like petulant teens while the bulk of their family looks on in disgust. This is the Proto-Elf. This is the Sea Elf. This is the Snow Elf. Your enemy, at home and abroad, who seeks to subvert the proud culture of Haelun’or through lies and treachery. For these Elves, in their defective impurity, cannot create for themselves. So I say to you, when you see a mali who might declare themselves an “Ancient Elf,” seek either that you drive them out or re educate them. The impure are known to brainwash our youth, to steal them away to Elvenesse for indoctrination. Do not slay a victim that might be saved, but capture all for trial before the blessed eyes of Larihei and her children at home. Every “Ancient Elf” captured is a High Elf saved or an impure destroyed. Ay’larihei. liewyn'Larihei eltaeleh walehe ohn vallein eltaliyna walehe. kaean'leh thilln chul'okarae. maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.
  16. Othelu watched by telescope from his great Sohaeriate world observatory as the redhead started burning missives in the middle of the woods, talking to herself, and stuffing her face with raw meat. He grimaced, though he knew this to be the common behavior of the impure lesser, for it never ceased to disgust him.
  17. On the Qualities of Lessers, BEWARE: The Aquatic Impostor Of the affronts to High Elven purity and the motherland, there is none so vile as the aquatic impostor. Mali’ata (tainted Elves) that display an inexplicable and unsightly attraction to water, and who seek to embrace it as a cultural center in order to twist or eschew the teachings of Larihei to their own wicked purposes. These Elves are not merely base lessers, who would ignore the blessed authority and sanctity of the High Elven people, but impure traitors to their ancestry and blood. They are, at their core, High Elves who hold their history in irreverent contempt. Ones spawned of splinter families who prefer the company of the uncultured lesser to their own blessed kin. Self loathing and vile, their culture is parody to the proud and upstanding legacy of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. But it is not their vileness or pitifulness alone that should warrant aversion. No; these Elves are, without the lessers with whom they surround themselves and manipulate to serve their ends, both weak and hated. It is instead their spitefulness and corrupting influence that the pure children of Larihei must beware. Bearing such aversion and hatred of their own parodic culture that to take pride in their weak and ineffective ways is impossible, likely a result of what little remnants of pure blood swim within their veins, these Elves walk the earth as impostors clinging to the dregs of pure High Elven society. Feigning civility and regality while they debase themselves both behind closed doors and in strange druidic rings; be it with cubes of ice or, more recently, sea water. The aquatic impostor seeks to be you, but cannot ascend to the height of 'aheral culture and thus tries only to drag you down to their own embarrassing and sub-cultured level. The aquatic impostor has no merit and no prestige, and so desires to leech from the society that which they cannot create in an effort to benefit from and steal luxuries so that they might wear a mask of pure High Elven refinement. The aquatic impostor hates themselves for their inferiority, and so hates the pure High Elf in which whose shadow they creep with an animosity unlike any other impure; taking sickening pride in the corruption, debasement, and indoctrination of our blessed High Elven youth. For this reason I say: beware the High Elven impostor. Beware the impure. Beware the traitor. liewyn'Larihei eltaeleh walehe ohn vallein eltaliyna walehe. kaean'leh thilln chul'okarae. maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.
  18. Stay safe, my man. It was good to have you in Haelun'or. We'll miss you!
  19. Othelu Orrar penned his reply. He did so in black ink on crisp white paper, and sealed it in silver wax bearing the sigil of Haelun'or. "It is good to see the magnanimity of the High Elves rearing its head in Haelun'or once again, with those who hold privilege parting in due course when those who can exercise that privilege to greater betterment of the state rear their heads. My congratulations and deep thanks to you, Anethra Uradir. Not only for being a graceful and benevolent laurir of the noble house of Uradir, but also for being among those who embody Larihei's blessed vision of our state and our people. May your actions today serve as an example to your current and future kin. So long as you walk the path, the doors of Haelun'or will be forever open to you. Walk forever in Larihei's shadow, Othelu Orrar, Sohaer of Haelun'or"
  20. "What a long winded post for some unelected state helper to make. At least our Okarir'maehr had enough class to keep theirs concise, if only they didn't publish it in a language nobody could read. The inefficiencies of the library are apparent. As usual, during times of change the unhelpful elements in Haelun'or see themselves out." Othelu remarked, tearing down the subversive content for delivery to the sitting Sohaer.
