if you feel like your goblin lore is original you should write a short story about it, or a homebrew ttrpg setting or something. the whole point of LoTC is to take the setting other people created and build on it. imagine telling a new player who earnestly wants to delve into ancient forbidden lore to discover how to be a necromancer "No" - because the guys who played the old left and no one else can be necromancers out of respect for them. what??

there is no blame implicit in banning minors from the platform (i guess "ban" has that connotation but there isn't really a better word. restrict?) 

the fact that the open internet as moderated by a half dozen 16-21 yr old volunteers is not safe for unsupervised 12 year olds has nothing to do with the 12 year old. it's not their fault? it just is what it is

from the other side of this: it's meant to make it seem like ur nation has a functioning government/bureaucracy and some threads are just meant to be documentation of some rp trivia like noble titles. imo it's a bit silly and the only real use is metagaming; should all be done with minecraft books or something, or maybe we can make unlisted forum threads that are accessible only by forum links ingame

hate how the familyecho kind of subsumes all human RP into itself: everyone is a cousin of some rlly important guy, no new nations or characters rise to power by merit or intrigue, so no original lore or new developments are created. I weep when an ambitious new player abandons their original character to play some obscure Horen cadet lineage because it is the only way to advance in human RP. I cringe when people throw ludicrous dead signifiers around like "Carrion Crow House" or "the very last Silverblade" or "blood of the dragon" to justify why their useless character should have outsized power and influence.

yeah they need to be smaller, there is no way around this. i can't imagine player collision would make it any better given the problem is already the server dies from too many entity position updates

also maybe delete minecraft hunger/saturation doodoo mechanics and remove swing timers

when has a shield wall ever worked in minecraft? even if you enabled player collision minecraft knockback works so that if you stand around static hitting someone without any sprint you'll get combo'd. even if shields were buffed to completely negate all damage/knockback all it would take is one guy to flank around and knock people out of rank to be slaughtered by the blob

there are "formations" that work in minecraft (especially if they involve movement, i.e. flanks, pincers, hit-and-runs) but the real thing that nerfs them is the sheer size of warclaims creating massive tps lag. it doesn't matter if you outmaneuver the enemy because he can jump in place and hit your shadow for 5 minutes and you get killed from across the map when the server updates

a class plugin would at least encourage some people to stand back and shoot arrows while other players go in and tank hits or deal dps. the real problem with pvp (that isn't lag, and isn't 1.9) is that it's too simple and there are no creative ways to interact with mechanics, which means only the best people at strafe hitting or whatever even get a chance to compete

people hate on 'MMO skills' or whatever but if added skills like archery, swordsmanship, parrying/dodging etc. it would allow players to specialize + do cute training pseudorp and a hard cap on either exp or scaling could prevent it from being too unfair to lower level pvpers.

give the max level just enough scaling to reward players for actually training with their weapons and tie it to personas so you can't switch out characters to pvp -- boom your problem with war alts are solved (kinda)

it also solves the problem that pvp currently is just a contest of who memorized the timings to left click and right click eat, it's shallow and tedious and doesn't invite most players to even bother to compete
