  1. Howdy. I find it nonsensical to restrict building on roads... Much like I find it nonsensical roads are prebuild, rather than following the most logical courses between settlements, both existing and newly arising. From historical perspective, settlements predate roads. Roads are build to link settlements. Once they exist, other settlements arise aside these roads to cater to various needs of its travellers and serviced towns. Dealing with these settlements and roads arising irp should be the ideal LotC goes for. From a mechanical perspective, regarding speed bonuses... This may need more staff engagement with road-maintenance. Regarding warfare, it may require better ways of dealing with lone settlements, without engaging in full blown war with a tile and its associated nation... But, control of roads should also open up opportunities for proper smuggler rp and finding 'alternative' routes into places. If a road is closed, it needs to be obvious what the rp reasons for it are and what alternatives there are for travellers finding themselves stuck in front of a blockade.

  3. For anything new to come from a diseased flower, you burn it to ash and use it to feed the untainted seeds. Stagnation is the worst thing to happen to our world. Change, the reinvention of all is a constant, a necessity. Blame not change, nor call those that bring it evil. If the past was dear to you and you must blame someone, blame yourself for your inability to keep the gears of time from taking their toll, as I do. All of Anthos is now lost. All of Ruska, suffered the same fate as Yamamoto. Do not hold onto the idea, that you are the only one who lost a home or family in this world. It is a constant for us all. Each time a home is settled, some danger succeeds in taking it away. Whether they are fellow mortal, or a force beyond our understanding. Though, recall... Change is bound to present itself sooner or later. We can accept this fate, but must not necessarily go without a fight. All we can do, is hope we are strong enough to protect what we hold dear. Fail or succeed. Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. ~F.
  4. Eh..? Bascinets looking bad? <-< What about these, 'flat visored' bascinets? Personally, I own a 'Pig-Nosed'/'Houndskull' visored bascinet. They're quite darn useful and do actually look fetching, if they're well-made. Arrows pretty much glance aside and spear-tips glide off. Need to remove the visor for melee, though, as vision does get quite limited. It's why you often see small hinges or locks, they make the removal of the visor easier.
  5. Just made a batch of chicken-chimichangas. They good. So good.

  6. I agree with Delta. Wood Elves are Wood Elves. They, of all the Elves, are closest connected to nature. Dryads being a rather extreme form among 'em. So, here ya have my view on what a Wood Elven Home's 'supposed' to look like. As ya can see.. There isn't much 'structure'. It's mostly trees. Even the lil' canopy on top is supported by the branches. I believe there's also some sort of distinction, between Elves whom like sleeping down below, close to the muddy earth and the fallen leaves and those whom prefer sleeping high up between the branches. So, I added a sleeping place for either.

It's not quite to scale, for an albino banana.

  7. My version for High Elven. :3 On a pedestal, prideful, very open. Overly decorative elements, but a very refined, simple interior. Still a link with nature, but molded peacefully into the structure. The more 'clean' bits actually fit the Elves pretty well, methinks.
  8. All three structures seem a bit too... Robust? Somehow, when I imagine Elven structures, I tend to think of thinner, more elegant lines. They'd definately be quite clean... Except for a lot of organic shapes. The interior, elegant, sober, functional, refined. I'm going to try'n build some Elven structures in response. ^-^
  9. Well.. Interiors generally aren't high on my list of things to take screenshots of... But I do have one, be it pretty old. I generally need to agree with the notion that one should always build in default. If something looks decent in it, the chance of it looking good in a texturepack is high. Also.. Depth is important. You don't want a bunch of flat surfaces without anything there to grab attention. Colour helps, in general. Also, try'n spruce up ceilings and floors. They're often forgotten. ((Editing in a few more..))
