  1. THE DRUSCO-TONNBRISTE ACCORD By the Grace of God on 11th of Jula ag Piov, 581 E.S. | 11th of Owyn’s Flame, 2028 Between the Duchy of Valwyck and the Margraviate of Drusco In an age fraught with uncertainty, where storms gather upon both sea and stone, the Duchy of Valwyck and the County of Drusco do come together in the spirit of wisdom and foresight. Bound by mutual interest and foregone courtesy of noble houses, they affirm this pact, not as a mere parchment of words, but as a living bond of friendship, aid, and shared purpose. ARTICLE I: NON AGGRESSION The signatories pledge to refrain from any act of hostility or aggression against one another, their vassals, or their sworn kin. Any disputes shall be resolved through diplomacy. ARTICLE II: TRADE & COMMERCE The signatories agree to establish free and open trade between their realms. Merchants and craftsmen from both lands shall have the right to conduct trade without undue hindrance, ARTICLE II: MUTUAL PROVISION Should either realm face a shortage or pressing need of materials, equipment, or other essential goods, both parties shall endeavor, in good faith, to assist one another in securing the required provisions, according to their means and circumstances. ARTICLE IV: DURATION This accord shall remain in effect for eight years, or until such a time as either party declares, in good faith and with due notice, their wish to conclude the agreement. SIGNED, HIS GRACE, Duncan Baruch, Duke of Valwyck, Count of Ayr, Viscount of Voron, Baron of Laval, Riveryn, and Gant, Lord of Jorenstadt, Guardian of the Hanseti Coast and the Westerwald THE MOST HONORABLE, Robert of Ulmsbottom, Marquis of Drusco, Lord of Castle Waldemer, Patriarch-Dynast of Ashford. HIS LORDSHIP, Roger of Bourdon, Lord-Regent of Drusco, Steward of Castle Waldemer, Baron of Blackwald.
  2. Ser Nikolas 'Longstrider' had not followed when the cowards fled their homes for the wilderness of a pagan tribe. The knight had retired into the Haeseni countryside many years ago and grew old and frail, but had donned his Marian armor and returned to Valdev to live out his final days in service. The air had been colder than he had grown accustomed to in retirement, the city quieter than he remembered, and his old friends either dead or missing. He remembered how his horse had grown weary as he rode through the city, and the rush he felt when he arrived at his intended destination - the final resting place of Karl IV. That had been months ago, and time finally took its toll on the old knight. "A Marian never forsakes his oath," he quietly chanted to himself as he shivered the last of his life away standing guard over the grave of the last true Barbanov King of Hanseti and Ruska.

  4. "Wot are we payin' fer?" asked Duncan Baruch as news of the summit reached his sickchamber.
  5. Duncan had not wept when his father had gone missing many years ago. He had not wept when his friend Dmitry died in the prime of his youth, nor had he wept when his cousin took his own life. But now, confined to his bed and far from the capital, Duncan wept.

  7. TONNBRISTE CASTLE GATEKEEPER OF THE WEST Written at the Behest of: The County of Ayr Published by: Baruch & Kortrevich Publishings The House of Baruch and Its History An old house, the Baruch family has existed in Haense since the time of its formation under Saint Karl Barbanov. The House’s saintly ancestor, Saint Otto ‘the Bald’ Heinzreich, famously relinquished his family’s schismatic ways during the aptly named Schism War of Athera, and joined arms with Saint Karl and the Kingdom of Akovia to restore unity to humanity. In the centuries since their establishment, members of House Baruch have followed his example, loyally serving alongside House Barbanov and the royal family. For their service, they have held many titles over the course of their history, previously serving as Dukes of Valwyck to now as the Counts of Ayr. On Aevos, House Baruch serves as the westernmost vassal of Haense, sitting on the border between the Kingdom and its erstwhile ally, the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. They also serve as stewards of the Westerwald - a mystical and fantastical forest home to all sorts of both natural and magical creatures, the most notable being a wyvern which has - in recent times - made itself known and laid claim to the local area. Previously the House made its home in the castle of Daergtaigh, built by Duke Garen when the west was a peaceful land. Now however, as many threats rear their heads in the western lands, Count Duncan has seen fit to replace Daergtaigh with Tonnbriste Castle, to serve as a proper fortress for the County. Location and Design Designed by architect Adriel aen Valan, Tonnbriste - which roughly translates to “broken water” or “broken river” in the native Ayrikiv dialect - serves as Haense’s westernmost fortress and sits on the border between it and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. It stands at the intersection of the River Bràdan, named after the river atop which the ancient Ayrikiv established their first settlement, and the River Dules, which flows directly to the royal capital of New Valdev. This is the inspiration for its name, as it “breaks” the River Bràdan into two. As the castle is built on this intersection, no one may enter the Kingdom from the west without first taking it. In this, Tonnbriste serves as the western gatekeeper of the Kingdom. The castle itself is built in a triangular shape, to sit within the intersection of the two rivers and take advantage of them as natural moats for greater defense, and to stand against threats from both the north and the south. A man-made canal on the third side of the castle completely surrounds it with water, with the exception of a drawbridge connecting it to land. Tonnbriste’s sturdy stone walls make it hard to breach, while the height of its outer wall and inner keep provide good vantage points for both cannon and archers to shoot. Commercially, Tonnbriste supplies great amounts of lumber, meat, and leather from the Westerwald to the Kingdom. The two rivers surrounding it are also rich with salmon, providing another good for trade and consumption. The river dock built on the side of the River Dules provides opportunity for export to the capital as goods are sent floating down river to the city, while nearby connecting roads lead to Reinmar and Urguan for trade by land. Points of Interest Tonnbriste Castle is home to the House of Baruch and as such comes with all the amenities due a noble house. Some of these include a garden with a wooden arbor for leisure, along with a hedge maze leading to a statue of Eirik Baruch, the first Count of Ayr. The inner keep holds the throne room, where Baruch peers hold audiences and ceremonies, the ballroom, where several festivities are held, and the chapel of Saint Otto the Bald, where the family remembers its holy ancestor. Outside of the castle rests a hunting lodge, where members of the family and their guests prepare for hunts in the Westerwald, and the previously mentioned river dock, where workers can package goods to send down the river to the royal capital.
  8. TREASURY REPORT I Issued by THE LORD TREASURER Published on the 14th of Vzmey ag Hyff, 567 E.S. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣ FOREWORD I have been Lord Treasurer now for six years, and in that time the treasury has continued to grow steadily and without issue as they had during the time of my predecessor Lord Heinrik Ludovar. It is the philosophy of this Office that the money a nation accrues is no good if it is not put to use in the betterment of the lives of its people. Within this report, I will present the work already undertaken by this Office, and future plans for how this Office intends to spend the money which the people have entrusted to the Crown. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════╣ INTERNAL AFFAIRS Early on in my tenure as Treasurer, I was suddenly taken ill and forced into bedrest for some time. Despite my illness and incapacitation, the duties of the Treasury were not hindered, mostly due to the efforts of Brother Stefan Ludovar. Lord Stefan handled himself and the affairs of the treasury with the utmost care, allowing nothing to slip through the cracks. There was no service undone, no responsibility missed, no record unwritten under his watchful eye. For this reason, in honor of the dutiful service which he has already rendered to this office, I am proud to appoint him as my Deputy Treasurer. May he continue to serve as well as he already has in his new role. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════╣ INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCTURE AND INDUSTRY It is with great concern that I address the current state of our nation's infrastructure. Once a symbol of strength and progress, our roads, bridges, and public works have fallen into disrepair, weakened by years of neglect and underinvestment. Crumbling roads impede trade, aging mines slow industry, and failing bridges endanger our people. We can no longer stand idly by as our nation’s foundation erodes beneath us. If we wish to preserve our prosperity and safeguard our future, decisive action is not just necessary—it is imperative. As Lord Treasurer, I am proud to announce a bold and unwavering commitment to the revitalization of our infrastructure. Already, treasury workers have begun the task of cleaning the Midlands which still lie in disarray and ruin from the destruction of the Covenant War. We shall not only continue this work, but expand upon it as we strive to repair and build the vital passageways of our kingdom, ensuring that our roads are complete, our bridges strong, and our industries equipped to meet the demands of the present and the future. With this will come the construction of new public works also - monuments, shrines, and waystations, as well as the organization and repair of existing ones, so that all facets of Haeseni culture and history will be readily available to those who walk our paths. Any families who wish to assist the treasury in these efforts should send letters to myself or to the deputy treasurer. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════╣ HOUSING AND COMMERCE After much planning and preparation, the village of Waltonburg is finally ready to break ground on a long-awaited construction effort that will bring new life to the community. No longer shall the dark ruins of undead evils stain the land of the descendents of Sigismund! On the Crown’s command, the Treasury will hire engineers and architects to bring His Majesty’s vision to life, and to restore what was once a proud settlement of the crownlands, and to provide additional housing opportunities for those seeking to settle in our Kingdom. In addition to the construction efforts in Waltonburg, the Treasury is proud to announce plans to construct an open market along the road to the city of New Valdev! This space will be used to encourage both international and local commerce, with merchants and tradesmen offered stall space to peddle their wares so close to the active beating heart of the Kingdom. More details to come soon. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════╣ CLOSING REMARKS The future has never held so much possibility for the Haeseni people, and it is my sincere belief that the investments this office makes today will yield benefits for generations to come! We must remember, a society grows great when people plant trees whose shade they know they shall never enjoy. As treasurer, I am proud to play a role in planting these seeds, and grateful for the opportunity to serve the Haeseni people. May Godan bless the King and the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. ╠═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣ IV JOVEO MAAN, HIS EXCELLENCY, Duncan Baruch, Lord Treasurer of Hanseti-Ruska, Count of Ayr
  9. Duncan Baruch stood beside the Oracle as they watched one of the Daels slit his own throat. They had tried to bring the man in alive, the Canonist thing to do even with lowly bandits such as these, but he had chosen the coward's way out instead. He said a quiet prayer for the man, then congratulated Josef on his three dismounts as they marched their other prisoner to New Valdev.

  11. HOUSE OF BARUCH Issued by the COUNTY OF AYR On the 17th day of Grona ag Droba of 556 E.S. TO THE PEOPLE OF THE MOUNTAINS AND THE LAKES, It is with sorrow that the County of Ayr announces that Ruslan Baruch, Count of Ayr, has been missing for four years in the Westerwald and is now presumed dead. Duncan Baruch has succeeded his father as the new Count of Ayr and as Patriarch of House Baruch. Due to his minority, Thaddeus Gant (@Drew2_dude) has been appointed to serve as Count Duncan's regent to manage the county’s affairs until the Count reaches the age of majority. House Baruch requests prayers for the soul of its fallen patriarch and to the health of its new leader. BY MOUNTAIN, RIVER, AND COAL, The Right Honorable, Duncan Baruch, Count of Ayr, Viscount of Voron, Baron of Laval, Riveryn, and Gant, Lord of Jorenstadt, Guardian of the Hanseti Coast and Westerwald The Honorable, Thaddeus Gant, Regent of House Baruch
  12. Duncan Baruch offered Varon a pat on the back, hoping to console the poor boy. "I guess th' mud walls didnae 'elp dampen th' fire after all, but it's ok, ye can only go up from 'ere!"
  13. Ser Nikolas 'Longstrider' was astonished as he read the report. "Longstrider?! The only reason I spent the whole time running was cause he put me on a flank, and then those lot told me to join the others!"
  14. Duncan Baruch nodded in approval. "I stand with HAAC too(ah)."
  15. Ser Nikolas frowned at the misspelling of his name, but his anger was quickly replaced by glee when he saw that he got the rhinoceros while Belisar got a hedgehog.
  16. "This kid ain't much," commented Ser Nikolas as he stood guard over the baby's crib.
  17. "Holy shit he's actually done it," commented Ser Nikolas.
  18. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING

  19. Patriarch Josef was reminded of the fine work of the dwarven miners when they created his siege camp at Drusco. What a sight it'd been, destroying a Veletzer fort from a bunker within a mountain. Ser Nikolas simply hoped the dwarves would listen to reason so that Shiller High Life™ could continue to expand.
  20. "What a shame, the man never learned from his mistakes. Perhaps it is for the best," commented Ser Nikolas.
  21. Ser Nikolas passed the missive to his fellow Marian knights. "Imagine that, a republic of knights." @mythodon @Worply @Masouri

Can you even forcefully revoke a character? I assume in this case, the person in question let you do it or it wasn't being played yet.

The char was being played, it was an adult and the player had had it for a few weeks by that point. I sorta just told him he could no longer player it and that I didn't want to see him around anymore and that was that. He protested but didn't do anything beyond that.

Upon second thought, I do kinda agree. Though the guy could've clearly just kept playing and willingly chose to shelve it, despite the protest. But I do see the point where you would kinda just be forced to ignore the guy in roleplay despite nothing in character supporting the sudden change in character. Though all in all, its still metagaming its just more of a question of where do we draw the line of where it should be punishable
