Disheartened

I'll preface this by saying I used to hate medical roleplay to the point where I entirely avoided it at every given opportunity - and I am a graduate nurse. I got into it though. All it took was a simple alteration in my mindset. I used to hate it because the patients (generally) don't know how to RP their injuries and lotc medicine is just entirely unrealistic as much as people try to twist it to be similar to modern medicine. I just had to get it through my head that this is a medieval fantasy server and that medics or doctors are simply a mechanism to ensure that the players don't randomly die when they don't want to. Medical RP isn't supposed to be realistic, it's supposed to be a practice where the player feels that their medical needs have been seen to and that someone cares about their fate. It's an opportunity to pull someone in to have a moment of solid roleplay for a time. Ultimately, I have stuck to the mindset of "whatever the player wants to happen will happen". I pull the player in to the RP, I speak to them whilst I tend to their wounds and I do the best that I can in a given situation. I've found it much more enjoyable this way. Medical RP is not meant to drag down a healer or a patient. It's not meant to force people to RP crazy long lasting crippling injury or to force people to throw away RP items. It's just roleplay, like the rest of the server is. Once I was more relaxed with my mindset, I found the roleplay far more rewarding.

Valeriya Lorina had never planned to be married, nor did she plan on producing any children. For she was an ambitious woman, one who took to adventure and exploration. One who never settled in one place, nor sought to. When she met Sergey, they connected relatively quickly. Though he may not have carried the best reputation, she saw in him what others may not have. A man who had endured, who had persisted, and had great plans for his future and the future of his family. It was with a certain admiration that she acknowledged this, but no, she did not love him either. Not in a traditional sense. She loved what he stood for, the goals he'd set in place. When Sergey proposed, there were of course, second thoughts. She did all she could to put it off and carry on with her carefree lifestyle until finally, her father gave them his blessing. The woman struggled with this, understanding that with the presence of children she'd now hold responsibility to remain where she was. Her history of careless ventures around the realm and taking to the seas with no set destination were coming to a close. With the struggle of coping with such a thought, she also found a growing admiration for her newfound position. Though she hadn't met them yet, the bond that had formed between herself and her unborn children were unlike any she'd ever felt before. She took to the seas with the company of her husband for one last voyage, but no one could have foreseen the events that would unfold. Despite having not achieved all she wished to, Valeriya managed to bless the earth with the two things she found to love first - an only pure love she'd ever found in her life. Her sons. ((OOC: I had a lot of hope for this character, I planned on doing a lot with her and it's heartbreaking to give her up with such short notice. Things got to a point where I couldn't bring myself to log on to her anymore and circumstances prevented me from having the motivation to proceed with her storyline. With the closing of this character, also draws the closing of my RP relationship with a lot of the current Haense population, at least for the time being. See you all around. 💖))

Natural History Exhibit An exhibit containing a collection of works containing information on the earliest exploration missions launched in Almaris. Delve deep into the history of ruins, crypts, and biomes that have been extensively researched by our team. Uncover mysteries and gain knowledge on the flora and fauna that inhabit our new land. Great Women of Human History Exhibit Explore the influence of some of the most powerful and important women through the earliest times in Human history. Read about their individual stories and enjoy viewing life-sized realistic busts of these important individuals. Timetable Ribbon cutting and introduction - At the start of this event, the President of the NGS, along with the Lord Palatine, will share some words as an introduction to this event. Once the speeches are complete, they will cut the ribbon and allow everyone inside for a grand reveal of all of our prepared exhibits including the two featured ones listed above. Independent or Guided tour - following the grand introduction, curators and NGS staff will be available for question-answering or explanation based on the available exhibits. The winner will be the person who returns to the museum first with the location of each item on their score sheet, and they will win all of the entry fees along with a special NGS product suited to the game. (5 mina entry, winner wins the pot + a lored item) Great Women of Human History Trivia - Participants will gather at the basement of the NGS museum for a trivia night based on our featured ‘women of history’ exhibit.
