-
THE GRAND GUILD OF MERCHANTS ᛒᚨᚴ-ᛒᛖᚱᚷᚢᚴᛚᛁᚱᚢᛗᛗ Dwarves are known for three things: their short stature, their underground strongholds, and their token lust for valuable items. The Royal Guild of Merchants focuses on this last primal trait to acquire vast sums of coin for themselves and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. HIERARCHY The Grand Merchant, stylized as Armakak’s Coin, is the principal leader of the guild, responsible for all that it encompasses. The Grand Mechant must ensure that the guild is well-supplied and merchandise is sufficiently appropriated to guild members. He must ensure that their products are sold at a reasonable and correct price, as well as conduct other managerial duties that become present with time. Senior Merchants, stylized as Acolytes of Armakak, are guild members who have proven themselves as masterful traders and are capable of working on their own. They are responsible primarily for orchestrating grand trade operations: stocking the shelves of the foreign shops and seeking out new business ventures abroad. The Junior Merchants, stylized as Initiates of Armakak, are the backbone of the guild. These traders primarily act as guild mules, performing the vital task of transporting wares between the Senior and Grand Merchants. When not performing in this function, the Junior Merchants will peddle goods at the discretion of the Grand Merchant. CODE OF CONDUCT Guildsmen will not steal from their fellow guildsmen. Guildsmen will maintain their assigned merchandise or redeem its loss. Guildsmen will respect the laws of the nations to which they are assigned OPERATIONS Guild operations are formalized by the Grand King and his Grand Merchant, generally planning import-export operations for a year at a time. Merchandise delivered to the Merchants’ Guild will be appropriated first to the domestic shops of guildsmen before being transported abroad for export, either by Senior Merchants to their foreign hubs or by the Lesser Merchants to peddle on the streets. Yearly, the Grand Merchant will assess the net gains from his subordinates and name the most profitable guildsman, awarding him for his outstanding efforts to the Grand Kingdom. GUILDHOUSE The Royal House of Mercantile is the primary logistical warehouse for guild affairs and the office of the Grand Merchant. Its inner workings are mysterious to foreigners and even most Dwedmar, for its halls are closely guarded from prying eyes. It is known to hold vast storages of trade goods and a separate royal treasury. APPLICATION Though the Royal Guild of Merchants seldomly appropriates time for the purposes of adding new blood to its ranks, it does collect resumes from interested parties. All submissions are overseen by the Grand Merchant, who alone will dictate a Dwed’s worthiness to the Guild. Resume Name: Race: Age: ((OOC)) MC Name: Discord Tag: Timezone: ARMAKAK NEEDS YOU! JOIN THE GUILD NOW!

Girgin Grandaxe finally reaches the Metinan Keep, after a long and exhausting ride from Urguan. He would sit by the gate for a while as he then dismounts and laughs. "When we start the killing?" he would then laugh even more as he takes out the map he was carrying to study the roads to Talon's Port.

Wronging the Rights of the Past [Snow Elven Removal]
Ioannis replied to ScreamingDingo's topic in Announcements
Hello there friends of Malinor! I would like to say a few things as LT = bad people. The Snow Elven lore was never a “cannon” one, as their origin was never really cannonised to begin with. RP wise, nobody knows how they came to be, the royal family (Tundraks) have their story to promote their propaganda and then the rest of the people have their own stories. It was a legend of its own, a fairytale for the children. So yes, you dont have to tell us about that but I doubt you even had a single snow elf in those discussions. After the whole origin fairytales, you state that the rest of the snow elves must re-make their appearance to fit the High Elven height standards. I dont agree with this at all and it goes against what the server is all about. We are not talking about a group that just appeared on LotC. We are talking about a group that has been around for 3-4 years now, for good or bad. You cannot force them to simply undo all their progress just because you are doing your usual “MUST PURGE” business. The snow elves do originate from the High Elves but due to them living in the snow, they became “buffer” as they have to survive in the snowy weather, it takes effort to do anything in a place where its cold all the time. Their lifespam also decreased due to their living condition, not due to some curse or any of that. All the above is called evolution, when you take something from its home and you place it somewhere else, it will either evolve to match the new place or it will die. Sadly, the snow elves evolved instead of dying. Overall, I believe that you just handled this poorly. I dont see an issue with people wanting to RP something different. I wont mention other races as thats scummy and not helpful but you should truly focus on other things that are more urgent than wasting your time and the time of lots of people who spent countless hours making the Snow Elves something fun. If this is about to reduce the amount of races and sub-races a new player has to sort through, sure, remove the snow elves from that. There is only a handful of people who enjoy RPing as them. But you should not force people who spent years on their characters to change them just because you felt like it. X- 97 replies

Council Changes of 1773 Since the first reign of Aelthos III Tundrak, the Fennic council has remained mostly static. Initially designed with the intent to satisfy the demands of Aelthos’s time, the changes in our world bring about new challenges, therefore demanding that Fenn adapt in kind. In order to embark on this new direction, Grand Prince Aelthos III Tundrak has set about reorganizing the Fennic council. With the above in mind, the following changes will occur: Due to being deemed unnecessary, the office of the Grand Chancellor is abolished forthwith. As instructed by Wyvurn, the position of Arch Vigilant shall always be fulfilled by a woman of the faith.. The position of High Emissary will be relegated to the Lower Council. Due to being deemed unnecessary, the office of the Grand Exchequer is abolished forthwith. The duties of the Bilok’Thuln will be transferred to the Ivae’Fenn. The position of Grand Steward will be relegated to the Lower Council. Due to past abuses and injustices, the office of the Grand Treasurer is abolished forthwith. From here on out, the treasury will be managed only by the Grand Prince or Princess. From these changes arises a Lower Council to handle many of the smaller matters that affect Fenn on the daily. The positions are as such: High Emissary Grand Steward Bloodline Heads HIS SERENE HIGHNESS, Aelthos of the Tundrak Bloodline, third of his name, Grand Prince of the Princedom of Fenn and Mali’Fenn, Patriarch of the Tundrak Bloodline, Protector of the Idhren’tirn, Hesin’fin, Commander of the Citadel of Acael, Protector of Tahu’lareh, the chosen of Wyrvun

A young man dressed in a black and yellow uniform would appear infront of the two, a letter on his hands. He would be soaked from running all over Arcas. ”To my old friends Varan and Alenia Atmorice, due to the recent change in leadership, you are both invited to Fenn once more as your loyalty has not been forgotten. May Wyvurn guide your way to our Princedom” The letter would have a blue flower in it. -Signed Grand Prince Aelthos Tundrak

The letter would be delivered to Aesilnoth by a young man dressed in a black and yellow uniform. “To my beloved uncle Aesilnoth, I would like for you to join me in Fenn to remember the good old times. It has been a while since we last spoke.” The letters would be poorly written, indicating it was personally written by Aelthos. -Signed Grand Prince Aelthos Tundrak

Hey King, You Dropped This “A bit awkward to be meeting in a tavern of all places for something like this.” Aelthos grumbled, helping himself to a sip of his wine. He looked around, appreciating how much nicer the place was since he had left, but still feeling almost uncomfortable being out in the open like this. He could at least take solace in knowing that it was a slower evening, and there were only a handful of patrons below. “Better than that stiff throne.” his son, Grand Prince Akkar, laughed. “Come on, admit it, you hated sitting on that damn thing too.” Aelthos smiled, now beginning to be at ease. His son was the happiest he had seen him in… almost ever. The burden of rulership lay heavy on the shoulders of those who believed they were fit for it, and many who took that challenge were driven to ruin. Such had nearly happened to him, just as it happened to his other son. It was good to see that being prince had seemingly uplifted Akkar, much unlike what it had done to Aldred. “It’s been ages, father, so long that I thought you were dead.” Akkar confessed, scratching the back of his neck. “I’m glad that you ventured all the way here. I don’t know what I would’ve done had you not.” he said, his tone having shifted from his jovial self. Aelthos smirked, propping one foot atop the other. “You think I’m the type to just go and die? I’ve lived too damn long to keel over anytime soon.” “I suppose not.” Akkar smiled as he rested his arms on the table, leaning forward and looking his father in the eye. “How’s a third run sound to you?” he asked suddenly. Aelthos blinked. “Huh?” “I know, I’ve just sprung it upon you quite unfairly, but I must be honest with both you and myself…” he began, biting his lip as he paused to take a swig of his own wine. “I’d like some time to rest, father, and I believe that you’re the man best-suited to take my place. You’ve led us twice before, so you know how this all works. I won’t force you into anything, though, if you don’t want to.” Aelthos simply sat there for a moment, almost glaring at his son. Quite a way to spring such a serious matter upon him, and in such a casual setting too. Damn the youth and their propensity for tactlessness, he thought to himself, grumbling. However, he almost had an admiration for the approach, it was one that was markedly unique- of course it would be a son of his that would find such a way. What kind of father would he be if he declined? “Fine.” he muttered, crossing his arms. “Third time’s a charm, isn’t it?” he chortled, downing the rest of his wine. “You’ve done well, son. It’s about time I’ve gotten back in the swing of things. I reckon it’s time I see some old faces once again- they wouldn’t dare ignore the summons of the Grand Prince!” he guffawed, at this point talking to himself more than to Akkar. “Indeed…” Akkar murmured, looking down at the ground floor of the tavern. He was met with several faces looking back at him. “They must be confused as hell…” he whispered to himself, amused with the thought. “Oh well. They’ll understand things soon enough.” The father and son had many more drinks that night, and their conversation drew so long that the talk of abdication became merely an aside that the two would deal with in the morning. For now, though, the men merely enjoyed the company of each other and the patrons that were there, for nothing is as rare and fortunate as conducting a transfer of power that goes over smoothly.

The Dwemmunist Party of Urguan (DPU) Thamar var nevrumm Vroth!(We will never lose!) Thamar var nevrumm Nazka! (We will never break!) Forevruum ljoroth! (Forever Orange!) Khrum Fraed da Rikkin! (All back the Leader!) Khrum Nogazen da Rikkin! (All love the Leader!) Freeman and slave, patrician and plebeian, lord and serf, guild-master, and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another, carried on an uninterrupted, now hidden, now open fight. A fight that each time ended, either in a revolutionary reconstitution of society at large, or in the common ruin of the contending classes. In the earlier epochs of history, we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of society into various orders, a manifold gradation of social rank. In ancient Urguan, we have patricians, long-beards, plebeians, clan fathers; in the old times, lords, vassals, guild-masters, journeymen, apprentices, serfs; in almost all of these classes, again, subordinate gradations. The modern bourgeois society that has sprouted from the ruins of feudal society has not done away with class antagonisms. It has but established new classes, new conditions of oppression, new forms of struggle in place of the old ones. Our epoch, the epoch of the bourgeoisie, possesses however this distinct feature: it has simplified class antagonisms. Society as a whole is more and more, splitting up into two great hostile camps; into two great classes directly facing each other — Bourgeoisie and Proletariat. The bourgeoisie, during its rule, has created more massive and more colossal productive forces than have all preceding generations together. Subjection of Nature’s forces to Dwed machinery, application of Runes to industry and agriculture, navigational advancements, railways, clearing of land for cultivation, whole populations conjured out of the ground — what earlier century had even a presentiment that such productive forces slumbered in the lap of social labour? We see then: the means of production and of exchange, on whose foundation the bourgeoisie built itself up, were generated in old society.. At a certain stage in the development of these means of production and of exchange, the conditions under which old society produced and exchanged, the old organisation of agriculture and manufacturing industry, in one word, the old relations of property became no longer compatible with the already developed productive forces; they became so many fetters. They had to be burst asunder. -The Palace of Skippy Irongut, Father of the Dwemmunist Party of Urguan Main Roles & Offices of the Party Under King of Urguan; No official role within the Dwemmunist Party of Urguan (DPU), but hailed as the spiritual successor of Skippy Irongut of the Dwemmunist Party of Urguan, and holds absolute power through association.
