  3. The characters involved with this are targeting Laklul because - due to a plethora of IC reasons - they want to kill him/it in particular for their own ends. There is no IC motive to bring about the Orcs' direct downfall or physically combat their nation in any way.
  4. The creation of this Event Proposal was in no way an RP post to publicise our intentions. There is no 'rumour' or common IC knowledge of this event unless your character has been explicitly told IC by a character with the appropriate knowledge. Please don't metagame my dudes
  5. Event Planners, MC Names: TheKingOfTheMoon Event Type: Ritual Your Timezone: GMT Affected Groups: Mystics, Dark Shamans, Shamans Event Location: (Will disclose via PMs if this event goes through, given fear of Metagaming) Summation: After a considerably lengthy period of time undergoing the sacrificial rites involved in creating an Apparition (an ET/LT played amalgamation of souls forced together through Mysticism to form the peak of phantasmal power, see here for more info) - with which screenshots can be provided dating back to the end of April, alongside a series of forum posts leading up to this event over the course of the past year if not longer - and enslaving a second Apparition following earlier creation as a means of bolstering the already large arsenal of the combined Mystics and Dark Shamans in their efforts to slay Laklul, the lesser Spirit of the Swamps. (As a lesser Immortal Spirit under Freygoth, Laklul can - due to currently accepted lore - be targeted and slain via a Dark Shaman's 'Grak' ritual. See here for more info). The ritual would involve the initial process of stealing a shrine to Laklul of a prior Shaman's construction or the Dark Shamans constructing their own in order to lure the Spirit. After this the standard procedure of the Grak ritual would begin: Three Dark Shamans would set up a triangle with the shrine at its centre, stretching between the Physical and Immortal plane in order to imprison both Laklul (once lured) and the assembled forces within. Following this a PK clause would be established wherein all characters present that 'die' (even the demanifestation of a Wight or destruction of a Paleknight) during the event would result in PK. Shout emotes would then have to be performed by the Dark Shamans, alerting any nearby Shamans of relevant specialisation of the pained Spiritual presence and granting them the opportunity to try and interrupt the ritual (as established in the Dark Shamanism lore). Following this Laklul would be made manifest (ideally played by an LT approved ET) in a form somewhat between that of a Muyakelg and an enormous Toad, with both physical boons as well as powers centred upon the theme of nature - specifically swamplife. The two Apparitions would then be unleashed (ideally played by ET) in with abilities and appearances already outlined in the Phantom Compendium under the will of the assembled Mystics. Being trapped between planes due to the aforementioned Grak ritual, Laklul would be subject to physical harm - albeit with a high constitution due to the Spirit's innate power - and therefore subject to the possibility of being permanently killed by the forces assembled against it, including the hefty strength of the Apparitions coupled with whatever Mystics, Paleknights, Gravens, Ghosts, Mages or others are gathered and lending their aid. Provided the success of the ritual, the lands surrounding the site would be smeared with the fallen Spirit's blood and scarred as a swamp rife with Shamanic corruption, to either act as an area for further events or be purged by later Shamans and Druids of the proper specialisation. Concept Images/Screenshots What help do you require from the ET Actors or Builders? -LT approved ET to play Laklul -ETs to play the Apparitions -ET builders to make the lands surrounding the ritual site resemble a cursed Swamp. (if Laklul is successfully slain)

  9. Anchoring For long have the more ambitious practitioners of the phantom arts sought to hold dominion over the volatile spectral beings. Rogue Ghosts and Gravens too have crept in the shadows or beneath veils of steel, ever wary of what persecution may await them at the hands of cunning shamans, vigilant holy magi and tyrannical mystics; from such struggles were the first relic-bound forged by initial Synod. Anchoring, or ‘phantom-chaining’ is the illicit means of re-aligning a Ghost or Graven’s soul shadow into a saturated rock, effectively forming a phylactery of sorts wherein their lesser spirits are kept. The result of this being a phantom entirely resistant to a mystic’s handling and binding attempts, as well as permanent banishment from deific practices. The will of such creatures is in these ways liberated, although at questionable cost, for when anchored a phantom shall become subject unquestioningly to the will of the mystic that carried out the liturgy; furthermore the outright destruction of their anchored vessel will result in the shattering of a phantom’s ethereal bonds, de-manifesting them permanently. In order to carry out this liturgy, a mystic must be Ringbound - having undergone the Amputation ritual to be equipped with a spectral limb - or a Wight to begin with. They must then go about equipping themselves with a mundane mass of stone no larger than a closed fist, before interacting with the Ghost or Graven in question. Following this they would begin casting as though intending to handle the phantom, before thrusting their spectral limb (equipped with the stone) violently into the phantom’s torso. The amassed ectoplasm would then begin to fuse with and influence the Ghost or Graven’s own upon (as is usually the case with handling) though prior to allowing such to escape into its host the Mystic would instead withdraw once again, draining the phantom’s ectoplasm to mix with their own and lodging such into the stone similarly to the binding liturgy. The entire process would be both excruciating and paralysing for the phantom in question, a piece of themselves being very literally forced into the rock; upon completion the mystic would withdraw the stone to find it reforged as Menhir, now containing a direct link to the phantom’s soul essence. Henceforth the mystic in question would be able to command the ghost or graven as they will unless the Anchor is re-bound by another, similarly to a Paleknight who’s pillar has been subject to a mystic’s binding. Severe damage to this stone would undo the phantom’s soul shadow entirely, bringing about their final death. -_-_- TL;DR, Anchoring grants Ghosts and Gravens defence against handling and binding from other mystics and permakill attempts from deity mages in exchange for their free will being in the hands of the mystic that anchors them, as well as risking PK should their anchor be destroyed. -=- Redlines: Anchoring only functions on Ghosts and Gravens. This liturgy can only be carried out by an amputated mystic or a wight. Anchoring requires two liturgies to complete as it borrows elements from both Handling and Binding. As this brings about a permanent change to their character, a mystic must obtain explain the specifics of this procedure and gain OOC consent from the Ghost or Graven player to successfully carry out this ritual. If a Ghost or Graven’s Anchor is destroyed at any point following the ritual, they will be forcibly PK’d. Whilst an Anchored Ghost or Graven becomes completely immune to other mystic’s attempts of Binding or Handling, they may still be forcefully drained by another mystic. Whilst an Anchored Ghost or Graven becomes resistant to deity mages’ banishing attempts (ie a Shaman forcing a Ghost from this plane to permanently kill it), they are still as subject to damage and temporary de-manifestation (‘death’) at the hands of such magics as they were prior to being Anchored. If a phantom’s Anchor has been re-bound by another mystic, they must obey said mystic unquestioningly.
  10. Whilst that's a valid concern, I would argue the following already address this: Though do you have any suggestions beyond LT consultation?

"So you're probably wondering how I wound up in this situation..."

  15. (Meme at the bottom should be at the top but Im typing this on a phone) But seriously, Not bad all joke she aside and gj with Ixli origin. Could use more detail on abilities and the extents of them as well as maybe some expansion on how the whole absorbed flesh thing works in coherence with preexiating genus and life force lore. I don't also ask why bother making it take up 5 slots? For what it seems capable of doing Id argue it's worth 3 at a stretch; that kinda just looks like a last ditch additionally weakness to strengthen your chances a at getting passed. but otherwise as a current dark shaman (Lore holder even) it's better than ish'urkal and will hopefully get more use than uluamirzgai... provided things are outlined properly now and the next wave of MT/LT don't decide to axe it a few months down the line the line.
