    if you somehow missed my status spam, I could use some feedback on the lore post for sprites that I made two months ago

     

     

    I just want to make sure it’s as good as possible in as many people’s opinions as possible before it gets locked for review, y’know?

    Hey, do you like harshly criticizing things people put time into? Please come do that on my post.

     

    So far the only criticism I've gotten is one guy who doesn't trust the playerbase with little fairy guys.

      I will gladly copy-paste cannon lore from wikipedia if it means getting cannons. Very dumb that we've been able to use TNT up until this map, use fireworks and other explosives but oy vey gunpowder = evil.

    if mani exist and they've been summoned in the past why wouldn't they be summoned now magic demigod animals bestowing wisdom upon desperate worshipers is an amazing fantasy trope also I think the phrasing of "summoning" might be confusing some people, from what I understand they aren't like, conjuring big demigods; they're inviting them to arrive, and if their efforts are noticed and the mani feels like it, they make an appearance

    *cough* hey y'know who's a group of nomadic humans who worship mani and live in southern atlas Anyway, I dig this. I was afraid it'd change the image of the Mani, but instead it just added more clarity to the image that already exists. +1

      Is there anything you could think of that might ease your apprehension a little? Somebody actually suggested urging the LT to purge sprites and make them re-apply if my rewrite gets pushed through. Maybe some kind of interview, like ents used to have?

      Yo that ain't stupid like for me. Races that require interview, and actual hard work to show that they are in good hands. At least imo.

    hi I RP an orange sprite and deliberately avoid roleplaying in the dominion, with Druids, and with other fae and the RP I have is more meaningful because of it you are wrong

    I've received the advice that in order for sprites ( literal fairies, if you're unfamiliar ) to be viable, they need something to drive them to RP and interact with the server; An active purpose that they must fulfill or suffer some drawback from neglecting it.

     

    What do you think you would like to see little fairy guys be obligated to do?

      Instead of the pretty, cutesy version of my rewrite..

      Make little flying demons. Torturing and causing chaos to any who harm the balance or Nature.

    Alright alright, this is good and all, but one thing; As far as I know, household magic is still current, accepted lore, right? So, is this just more spells for it, or a resubmission of it?

    Hey! There are a lot of people who dislike a lot of fae things for a lot of reasons. If you'd like to voice any of these reasons, I'd like to hear them!

     

    Not in an argumentative way; I'd like opinions so I know where things stand and what needs to improve.

     

    I'd prefer constructive criticism but if you want to say something like "player fae was a mistake" I won't get mad.

    what do you mean "not enough of a purpose" they're fairies there's literally nothing else on the server that is similar and the lore that was proposed added additional features to that to make them more interesting to interact with in addition to that

    ooh, sorry my dude-- Didn't mean to jump the gun on you there. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my rant-y complaints-- And for the record, I like your idea more than just being able to speak common. Anyway; Remember to re-read your work a couple times to make sure it's perfect before the LT comes in to lock it. I think your rewrite has a pretty good shot at getting accepted, especially compared to some of the other rewrites we've seen during this whole fiasco. I'm sorry if I came off as harsh or combative. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything, I just get passionate about niche lores I care about. edit: got rid of that dumb face, please remove that feature of the forums devteam I don't want to make stupid emojis when I deliberately write out smileys

    I'd quote you properly but my internet won't allow that right now for some reason. What do you have against sprites being able to eat if their players want them to? Also, why aren't you acknowledging that there was a whole group full of sprite players who unanimously agree'd that not being able to communicate with anyone but druids wasn't working?
