  1. Orc Players aren't the problem, your Elven attitude and refusal to fight anyone that you deem bellow you, is the problem. ?

  4. WTF is dynamic roleplay.

People keep repeating that is if it was some elaborate argument in favour of snowflake lore pieces that are used by 3 people ever.

Any lore piece who's effects somehow played a very large role in how their character changed over time.

Though still very irrelevant to the point. You can get rid of all lore. You can get rid of human lore and retroactively change all humans into elves. You can do that and the characters could still work. Still a completely bad idea to do so.

Except "human" isn't much of a lore, neither is "smithing", "being a politician", "establishing relations" or so.

We are talking about stripping snowflake superpowers that were handed out as a mistake.

    4. zaezae

      Humans are lore.

"Oh I know. I'll make it sound unreasonable by calling lore 'snowflake superpowers'."

No bro. You're going to have to start providing actual affirmative reasons why you get to decide what people's RP is legit or not. So far, all I hear are generalities and CONSTANTLY shifting goal posts. Too active? Just make a normal character. Not active enough? Grr circle jerk don't interact with server.

To be positive for a change, I do think there is a decent way to deal with lore bloat and control it into the future. All new lore has to be introduced to the lands rather than being something 'that was always there'. Secondly, lore is only accepted once a year. Thirdly, whenever the map changes, all lore introduced in the previous map should be seriously reviewed, either removed or carried over. It should be an actual feat to get any lore updated/changed/added. That would be how I deal with it.

  8. Name Koralon Onyxheart (Born) Koralon Doomforged (Briefly) Koralon Irongrinder Titles Clan Mother of the Onyxhearts Thane of Khazad'Akduum Forgemaster of Kaz'Ulrah Professor at the Holm Academy Instructor of the Mages' guild (Former) Forgemaster of Urguan (Former) Captain of the Urguan Legion (former) Arcanist of the Convocation (Former/Disputed) Grand Queen Consort of Urguan Age: 171 (born in 1494, Athera) OOC age: Character created on the 8th of September, 2016 Sex: Female Race: Dark Dwarf / High Elf halfbreed Voice claim: Ruth Davidson Physical Description Height: 5' (taller-than-average dwarf) Weight: 180lb (lighter-than-average dwarf) Body shape: Formerly muscular, nowadays lanky from voidal magic Hair: Dark Red, usually styled in braids. She has side-burns, decorated with gold. Eyes: Fiery red ‡ Koralon is left-handed, though was not born as one. Her body was mirrored during a dwarven-ascended cross-time expedition to Kal'Urguan. Skills & Abilities The Art of War For the first 80 years of her life, Koralon learned to fight with conventional Dwarven weapons. Only in the latter half did she opt to slowly shift over to the use of magic. She served in the legion using a shield and mace, the latter she still uses today. She also fought briefly with halberds and crossbows before becoming a battlemage. (4/5) Mace & hammers - Fair proficiency (2/5) Halberds - Rusty knowledge ‡ Koralon did not learn to ride a horse until the Coalition Wars, where she was gifted a stallion by a family of humans. ‡ The Coalition Wars saw Koralon's full service in all major battles & quite a few raids. She did, however, fight the Orenian empire years prior as auxiliary force to the Warnation of Krugmar. The Art of Knowledge When the mage Lhindir arrived to Kal'Nikaer to ask the dwarves for aid with removing the runic spike in his chest, he offered in exchange to teach them magic. He choose three students: Svardin Grandaxe, Grand King Torvin Grandaxe and Koralon. Over the following years she developed a far more loyal and dedication relation with Lhindir. In the middle of her studies, Koralon remained outside the Kal'Varak while Zahrer Irongrinder guided Lhindir inside, and was the one to physically remove the spike from his chest. Decades of friendship followed, though with a slow distancing resulting from Lhindir's thrive for power and descent into megalomania. She opted to seek out some older friends of hers, those who have known Lhindir and opposed him. She continued her magical research with the convocation, and was involved during the foundation of the Johannesburg conservatory as a to-be-teacher. Much later, she began experimenting with Conjuration, a school of magic that was introduced to her by Lhindir. Presently, she is studying golemancy from her father, who returned to teach the dwarves after the clans re-united under the banner of Kaz'Ulrah, and is also learning transfiguration from Anordal, son of Lhindir, whom she met after her return to the lands of Atlas. (5/5) Fire Evocation - Teacher (2/5) Conjuration - Studying lazily (1/5) Transfiguration - Lurking around (1/5) Golemancy - Barely touched ‡ Koralon learned & first used arcane coupling (circling) within the Kal'Varak to unleash an immense fire spell with Torvin Grandaxe and Crumena Izalith. ‡ The dwarf believes her aura colour of orange is a result of the fiery Doomforged blood and legacy. In reality, it's a simple reflection of Iblees' curse on the dwarves: greed. ‡ She learned combustionary evocation in Kal'Nikaer from Lhindir, though in the presence of Kypris, the inventor of the magic sub-school. The Art of the Craft Koralon was destined to be a smith. She grew up learning the art and worked for 20 years in the Iron Honour before her departure from Axios. She learned most of what she knows together with her cousin, Arias Doomforged, along with her long-time Iron Honour comrades, Kalviin Ireheart and Mafraedon Starbreaker. During her tenure there as forgemaster, she learned the more exotic alloys that one can smith. In her prime, Koralon forged aengul aurum blades for Ascended and various relics and trophy weapons for clan fathers and nation leaders. Two of her most prized works are Svardin's axe, and a claymore she made for a Warhawke chieftain. During the latter part of the Iron Honour, she learned the art of warforging together with her nephew Drakaem. (5/5) Smithing - Teacher - Knows the art of warforging - Familiar with slayer steel - Familiar with black ferrum - Familiar with aengul aurum & daemon steel - Familiar with bluesteel - Familiar with thanhium products (5/5) Jewelcrafting - Teacher - Familiar with making, cutting & recharging mana gems (1/5) Thanhium forging - Researching ‡ Nobody truly knows what a "42% black ferrum axe" truly is, though it is rumoured that Koralon made hundreds of it in the past and sold them all across Axios. ‡ Koralon's favourite weapon was not forged by herself. It's a black mace she looted from a raid on the former Axios capital of Haense, Saint Karlsburg. Relics The Helm of Dungrimm A relic she recovered with fellow Dwarves, this helmet lent the wearer the ability to animate a corpse an bind them into service. The Runeblade of Demagol Doomforged Actually an enchanted blade, Demagol's sword was capable of unleashing a flurry of flames through an enchant embedded within. Lhindir-buster Armour As Lhindir's megalomania grew, so did Koralon's paranoia towards her teacher. She crafted the Lhindir-buster armour in her private forge within Kal'Nikaer as a last-resort option against the mage. It is a set of plate armour forged from thanhic alloy, with numerous thanhium studs dotting its surface. She made use of the armour once, during which it was severely damaged and multiple studs melted. Elf-ear necklace Koralon collects the ears of elves she captures or defeats to continue an Ireheart tradition. Her necklace, since her original trials, grew to carry the ears of many more elves, including a pair from the founder of Veris and the newly added pair from a princess. Family Koralon was born to Dormin Doomforged, which leaves her as a direct descendant of Urguan, being his great-great-great-great-grandfather). She has a single son from Frerir Irongrinder. Her more noteworthy family connections include: (Father) Dormin Doomforged, legendary golemancer and Doomforged clan father (Grandfather) Hodir Doomforged, the only Dark Dwarf Grand King of Urguan & Hero of the Battle of Hiebenfall (Great-Grandfather) Urir Ireheart, Paragon of the Dwarves & Saviour of the Descendants through his sacrifice to stop the undead hordes. (Cousin) Archimedes Doomforged, Archmage & Ascended hero of Vailor/Axios (Husband) Frerir Irongrinder, last Grand King of Urguan (Father-in-law) Zahrer Irongrinder, former Grand King of Urguan, Arch-Runelord (Detached Cousin) Kalviin Ireheart, Archmage & Ascended hero of the Brathmordakin (Great-Uncle) Bastion Ireheart, Grand King of Urguan (Accepted kin) Lhindir, elven Arch-mage & teacher History To be done.
  9. Koralon grinned, hearing about the possible arrival of her nephew-3rd-removed to the Kingdom of Kaz'Ulrah. She prepared a pair of elven ears for a welcoming gift, rather awkwardly similar to the ears of one elven princess.

  11. Ain't moulding anything, explaining the physics behind this statement: "The limbs are stronger than a normal limb, though not by much, yet they are far slower and clumsier." Explaining that if /YOU/ see someone claiming they are superior to normal arms, you may report metagaming.
  12. Nope, not working. The reason a Bidenhänder sword strikes stronger is because of another equation, torque, equalling to r * F. That is to say, in an overhead cut you have a long radius as well as a longer time to accelerate your weapon. A golem arm is irrelevant in this situation due to the similar radius involved and the limited velocity I mentioned prior.
  13. Does not require alternative thinking unless LOTC has alternative physics. The assumed slowness of the arm hinges on the mode of suspension, not its weight. Which means your v velocity will be limited severely, reducing the product of v*m despite the comparably higher m. If you assume m would calculate into a higher a when the arm is in a falling motion, you assume that the suspension has very low torsion, meaning that you could possible hit a golem's arm and force it to spin around vertically. Hardness is irrelevant. A punch's worth is in its momentum. The hardness is represented in regards to the weight of the object in motion, and in the transfer of momentum which is much more prominent on a smaller surface area.
  14. That is untrue. Golem limbs may be sturdier than flesh, but they are in no way more powerful. The power of a punch hinges on the momentum of the fist, which is calculated p = m*v, a factor of weight and speed. Though the weight of a golem arm may be higher, its speed is considerably lower, making a punch with a golem arm pack the same strength as a normal arm's punch.
  15. That is correct. During the summer of 2016 there was a rise in golem limbs (with the rise of golemancers) and the lore team published a clarification page. Can't find it quick, but it's specifically stated that replacement limbs all have their downsides.
  16. Then negotiate their unjustified targeting instead of trying to shrug off consequences. And this goes to combat situations as well, referring to the healing magics. One shouldn't just shrug off consequences. A combat situatinon should have a proper threat to it.
  17. Maybe the town should consider submitting to the raider demands instead of hard-shouldering the raids, getting slaughtered and trying to dampen the consequences with magic / monks / raid rules.

  19. Orcs warclaim someone, OOC screeching ensues.

I would like to finally see a faction or group attempt to negotiate with the orcs, offer them terms or to even interact with them instead of either hiding during the raids & trying to get their warclaims denied. Negotiate IC, not OOC.

As someone who played an Orc and was the head of Diplomacy for the Orcs, this Warclaim and the RP associated was a joke and completely OOC motivated. I'm normally one of those people that complains and screeches about bringing in OOC to dodge IC conflict, but context is important to this situation mate.
