Guys, we reached the point where magelight lore needs 17 redlines and 5-tier-descriptions. -
This is exactly the issue, as I have witnessed it as an axe actually pointed against the user. Because magic is “unreal”, people are far more likely to default into “let’s call a GM” and such. And really, due to the rule enforcement on magic users & the scrutiny they can face if they abuse their magics, it’s likely they’ll avoid it. But, and I say this from personal experience, even if you call a GM to someone who’s powergaming with a sword, it’s likely they won’t be able to do anything. In the end, you are lucky if your character isn’t killed; there is seldom any reports / bans for powergaming.

When you see someone powergame magic, you cry for a nerf on combat magic. When you see someone powergame with a sword, would you cry to nerf melee weapons? I have seen far more people powergame and ruin combat roleplay who aren't magic users. In fact, the fear of losing magic has led to me never having encountered a powergaming mage before. One exception. Enchants. Now those are just ******* ridiculous. Literally a money mine for a select few people who seem to be able to get anything approved. Even worse when you use your weird enchanting magic to reason for an item that is /actually/ enchanted, so that your weird voodoo gives you a leverage even in PvP clicking. @Josh3738 I hope your knockback III. shovel, prot IV urguan armour and whatever enchants the bloody hammer had were removed with the map transition.

I will quote Mr. DsDevil here: When you give an all-out ban to a player, you lose someone contributing to the community. No player is perfect, we are all flawed in one way or another. When you dispense an all-out ban, you do not only prevent a player from harming the community through the means he had harmed it prior, but you also immediately deny them any chance of contribution another way. Because of this, I think “Wiki bans” should only be handed out to those who vandalise the Wiki / do not adhere to wiki editing rules. Similarly, someone who X-rayed should be given an IG rank that does not allow them to loot ores, and someone breaking raiding rules should be barred from raiding and not the server. -
New players keep asking where RP is. Pay me 100 minae and I’ll tell them your settlement. Contract lasts an OOC week.

You complain admins don’t respond to feedback threads. Here Fireheart responds to a feedback thread. It’s just that sometimes the answer is ‘no’.
Pick your battles. The whole reason nobody responds when it’s “no” is because it paints a giant target on your back while ignoring it gives the protection of anonymity in a 100-headed staff. You’re proving that point again now.

If Flambo does not complete the magic update in three months, will magic in general be shelved? :thinking:

The issue is this: The old format deterred lazy people, but allowed anyone with half a brain to fill it out and get approved. The new format is longer; it will only deter more people, while there is zero re-assurance it’ll increase difficulty. I think some more practical changes can benefit the whitelist system more. - If you remove the unnecessary bloat on questions but increase approval standards, it’ll deter less people while increase quality. I think, and I can’t support this claim, that if someone makes an app, they are likely to return and correct it. Whereas if they are deterred by the length / effort, they won’t return. Also, add a bloody link to the LOTC PMC skin depository into the “link your skin” section.
