In order for a Maer to be true and just, he must be elected by his own people.  Jakob, First Maer of Flotsam has yet to be elected, he was simply appointed.  However, Jakob has agreed to run in the Elections of Flotsam, for his Maership to be just and holy.  

 

The Maer must be man or woman living inside Township of Flotsam or garrisoned inside of Flotstad.  Those allowed to vote are men or women living inside Township of Flotsam or garrisoned inside of Flotstad.
