The sound of smashing hammers, throaty shouts and sawing echoes over the southern hills of Leanniel. A defensive perimeter begins to emerge as workers and peons clad in uniforms of the Disciples of Sol scatter over the construction, working tirelessly on their tasks. However, they often pause and turn an ever-watchful eye on the looming, ominous spire above and the twisted manor beyond.

After many day's work, they dust off their hands and begin to collect in the courtyard, where a twice-desecrated statue rests, ruined once by Setherien and once by the Free Peoples of Anthos in retaliation.

A woman steps up onto the statue, and raises a hand to bring silence to the crowd of workers and militia. She raises her voice, and speaks thusly;

"Disciples! Druids! All who heeded our call for aid! We, the free peoples of Anthos have been on the back foot for too long. We have suffered much, and with what in return? We lose battle after battle, and the ones we do win bring us nothing but another dawn to pick up the pieces of our shattered lives!"

The crowd boos at this pessimism, but the woman remains unperturbed.

"And I ask you, shall we give up? Shall we cover in our holes and keeps until the end of days? No, we shall not! For too long have we staved off endless attacks and lived in endless fear that this dawn may be our last. I speak to you from my heart, Anthosians, and I tell you..."

"THIS ENDS TODAY!"

The woman raises a clenched, gauntleted fist towards the spire beyond. Nearby, a crew of siege engineers hustle into place over the mighty trebuchet dubbed "The Lady", and proceed to fire it, the hulking boulder housed within arcing high into the sky, briefly casting a shadow over a hundred upturned eyes. It soars over the valley, and crashes with a booming roar into the spire, causing part of it to buckle and collapse into a cloud of dust. The crowd erupts into cheers as the first blow is struck upon the Scourge.

"Today marks the turn of our blades from defending our homes, to avenging those we have lost and striking out where no man previously sought to tread! We bring the fight to the Scourge!"

The woman kicks the bundled cloth by her feet, and it rolls forwards, unfurling down the statue's front - the banner of the Disciples, which glows gently in the warm light of the dawn.

The sun rises, and good men go to war.

Letters are written to every major nation and faction, arriving by uniformed couriers of the Disciples;

---------------------------------

Greetings, to whom this letter may reach.

It's time to turn the tables of this war. We siege Leanniel this Elven Day, and if it does not fall, the next, and the next. We shall show the Scourge the tenacity of the descendants of the Four Sons.

I am beyond being elegant with words, for they are trinkets of a bygone age, so I shall merely say thus;

Send troops.

Let's send those bastards crawling back into the dark depths from whence they came.

Sol guide you.

---------------------------------

((This 'battle' doesn't technically require a warclaim as it's essentially our own land we're defending along with the Leanniel factions. It's going to be a several days long siege that will only end when either all of our trebuchets are destroyed or the Manor is. As long as the Scourge has someone online, we'll attack if you are available to defend.))

A shadow in the night, hopped among the tainted trees, watching this display. The Mali'ker raised himself up, standing as he watched the crumbling of the spire. He rasped, crossing his arms.

"It begins...

...the Black Wyrm will be driven out."

Kalameet stares up into the sun, wishing he could be so grossly incandescent. His lips part, mumbling with a soft tone.

"May we all conduct in a round of jolly cooperation."

A minor coal miners union does not receive a letter but they will come fight regardless of not knowing of the fight

Caitlyn made sure that The Free People's Sovetski of Ruska got several letters, since they are dependable, hard working people.

To whomever it applies,

The Free People's Sovetski of Flotsam recognizes the threat of Setherien and his followers, and therefor pledge their support to this liberation of Leanniel.
