Every place has it's dead zones throughout the day, however when I have gotten on during PST times

10am, 2pm, 5pm, 10pm, 2am...

I have always managed to find RPers online. It sounds to me that you are the one with the grudge and not the other way around.

If you do not want to be a resident... You're the one who's isolating yourself, not us.

Not sure what you're talking about with an OOC network of grudges.

Also, Lin'ame in the scheme of things is rather newly established. Once more people go into the guard force across a variety of timezones, chances are that there will be less worry about the gate.

No, I'm basically being told "You have to teleport here as it is your home" and then "You cannot enter because you are not a 'pure' ((OOC friends with LeoWarrior or Leanniel)) elf". That is what Lin'ame is. It forces me to SS to a place, when I die in RP, where I'm going to get killed by either strelts or magical elf nazis. I don't know about you, but that seems kind of unfair.

If your wood elf character wants to join Lin'ame, register here and if you truly can't find anyone online to let you in message someone and set up a meeting time. I've altered the citizenry post to include forum and MC names of people who will help you get set up.

We don't want to make it difficult for people to join us, however it is an IC, RP policy to leave the gates closed at all times. The high elves do it, yet most of the frustration toward their gate seems to be kept IC. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As wardog suggested, if you want to help man the gate join the guard.

We have zero control over the racial soulstones, if you don't want to ss there you can reset it to the cloud temple. I'm not sure why you are accusing us of that kind of bias either, we have quite a few new members and players, and players from very different 'cliques' than us starting out on new characters. If you're full-blooded wood elf you should be allowed in. The only 2-3 individuals who have been turned away were former citizens who caused problems (in RP) and were banished (in RP). I apologize if you're annoyed, but I can't do anything about your soulstone, and if you don't want to live here... what do you want?

Basically you are penalizing players that do not wish or are not currently citizens of your town and essentially forcing them to become residents if they wish to RP with you. Least that is what it sounds like.. What about players that want casual RP? Or cannot find other RP and people happen to be in the city yet they aren't allowed in or noone is on. Or most importantly what about the new players that are still learning the ropes of the server? I have heard many complaints about things like this from newer players aswell as returning ones. Though I agree it is an RP issue, it really makes it hard for new players that wish to play elves yet cannot RP with other elves in the city unless they meet certain standards.

Also, saying as your defense to join the guard isn't really going to help. Many people ICly cannot join or do not wish to join same as OOC many people may not wish to join. So saying in order to enjoy the city or to be able to play with you is by joining the guard is not really a good statement.

Lastly, for what Charoodler said about having to be OOC friends with them is completely false, I am OOC friends with many people in the city and lived in Leanniel and was denied access. That is simply an assumption and one that is wrong.

Also you need to calm down with the accusations. If you are impure it has nothing to do with some OOC grudge. If you are impure it is simply the way you have developed your character. It's IC. Not OOC.

I'd love to believe that but it really isn't that. If you're a "dwarf" or "human" player who tries elf RP, not being able to act in a "pure" fashion, the lore for which isn't provided for new players or players new to elf RP, is basically the same as being OOCly told you aren't good enough.

I thought we were after getting rid of elitism, not propagating it. Regardless, I'll deal with this "IC" issue "IC" if I must.

Being pure = Don't use dark magic, don't kill other mali, don't mate with other subraces. I mean it is pretty damn clear from an OOC perspective. If you choose to ignore it then deal with the IC consequences. If you are impure it isn't like you can't become pure. You can find out in RP how to redeem yourself however from how your attitude is I don't think that is actually what you want.

I think what you want is what you think is best for elf RP. You want to be able to control it to suit your exact needs. Well I can tell you that the elven RP is climbing. It is becoming more and more organized and healthy and we are fine with how things are going. Whats best for elf RP is that we no longer take any OOC bullshit and don't allow ourselves to be bullied into submission.

So from this I can tell you that the gates will work how they have been working and the RP we get will continue to be prosperous. You can either continue to think that we all have OOC grudges against you or you can decide that you might try and find your niche in the RP.  We would rather have the gates down and have it be a inconvenience some times than have them up to be and have villains coming in literally 24/7 to be an inconvenience always.

They're on the front line of a war! It's a pain, but if they believe it's a necessity!

What happens to people who aren't apart of those groups and are known to be neutral/friendly? Are they subjected to the same issues due to the fact they're not an Elf? Or are turned away for not being an Elf when it comes to applying as a resident.

If you are neutral and want to visit you can go right ahead. Most of the time you will be allowed in. However due to a lack of space for housing all homes go to elves to promote elven RP. That doesn't mean you can't find a way to convince a resident to allow you to stay in their home.

I thought you could change your home soul stone?

You can, yes.

Any wood elf is allowed in (save for the banished ones), as are most dark and high elves, and usually kha. Anyone else is left to the discretion of the guards. The purpose of the settlement is to create a place for wood elven RP and only wood elves are allowed homes. It is not meant to be a melting pot. Melting pot towns are great, but that's not what Lin'ame is for.

We do not discriminate based on what clique you're normally part of. If you're playing a wood elf character you are welcome. You don't really seem willing to hear what we have to say, though, so I'm not sure what else to tell you.

What about half elves?
