Third Mexican Empire

 

After a year, stability in Mexico has been partially restored. Though, the dissidents have only grown in power. The Emperor has cut back on spending on infrastructure, Mexico was relatively urbanised, it had modern roads connecting the city to the rural villages and train lines running from Yucatan to Sonora

However, the Emperor is outraged by the Central Americans' rebuttal and proposing to him a tough ultimatum. The Mexican Empire warns the United States about Central America's fierce loathing and offers them a trade agreement, they would export oil in return for tanks and modern guns, they would even go as far as to buy it due to their complete absence of tanks. Mexico has also deployed their active personnel and reservists, numbering about 344'000 to the Chiapas District on the Guatemala/Mexican Border. The Emperor has also begun to train a new division to his armed forces - The Special Ops, the elite standing troops who will be armed with all the advanced equipment that Mexico can offer if the United States accepts the trade agreement. There also seems to be a partial mobilization, roughly a million people have been called upon (1 page). The Mexicans are preparing for something big.

King William was happy in the newly taken land of Turkey. But, one nervous thing was left on his mind as he was now the border defense of Europe for the Islamic threat. As, with the war-torn Turkey he needed to improve living conditions, so and unexpected civillian uprising would occur. Civil Engineering corps are sent as well as the newly trained, newly equipped SAS. The SAS would patrol the areas and elimate any terrorist cells or uprising they encountered by killing those threating individuals on sight.

As Canda's request to become Govnor General is declined as well as the alliance offer but the trade offer is accepted as The United Kingdom saw no fit for Canda and The UK to be allied with each other at this time.

The United States of America

 

President Baker, wanting to clear the tension between Canada and the Imperium, proposes a joint deal. Canada will be able to take non-military Chinese refugees who have lost their homes in the process - however they'd have to undergo strict immigration laws, and if they committed a serious crime or didn't follow through on their VISA on time, they'd be deported to the Imperium. Chinese Military Officers would be denied entry into Canada, as well. In exchange, the Imperium would leave Canada alone so that neither countries would have to worry about conflict. The U.S accepts the technology deal with both Mexico and Canada, and thanks Mexico for its loyalty and friendship to the United States. American money pools into Mexico, and the Mexicans are given a multitude of jets, weapons, tanks, and officers to help train their troops. Also, the U.S forms the NAA - or, the North American Alliance. Mexico and Canada are invited to join, plus the U.S would be included and each country would pool in military supplies, money, and trade. Immigration would be a lot easier between these three countries, and tariffs would be lifted. Technology and money would be shared, and each nation would remain independently governed.

 

 

The United States finally finished development of the Charlie Ray, and the Wolf Tank was almost complete. Mass-produced Viper Shades are almost made standard, and given to NAA units for testing. 150,000 U.S troops are armed with the CR-117. President Henry Baker asks Mexico to allow 375,000 (including 150,000 CR units) U.S infantry units into Mexico for a joint U.S-Mexican military invasion of Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, and Honduras. All troops are equipped with the developed Viper-Shades and 150,000 are equipped with Charlie Rays to test effectiveness in combat. If these lands are captured, they would be given to Mexico, however a multitude of Naval Ports would be constructed in the nations, some in the Atlantic, and some in the Pacific, and all NAA countries could dock there.

 

 

The U.S Navy stationed on the Pacific Islands quickly start mass naval surveillance to make sure Imperium military ships don't enter too close to American waters. Although these countries are on friendly terms, Baker doesn't know if they can be trusted or not. A war between these two nations would be extremely violent and catastrophic, and he hopes that he can prevent conflict, if it ever comes to that. The surveillance is relatively undetectable and there would be no point in detecting it as no harm is caused.

 

 

Foreign-aid packages are sent to South Korea, India, METO, the Imperium, and the UAA. These contain food sources, rations, weapons (not highly-advanced ones), and medicinal supplies.

Canada

The offer to Canada to join the newly formed NAA by the United States of America is accepted. Governor Pierce publicly gives his approval of the new Mexican regime in a state conference, and states the following as well after the public apprecation on the joining of the NAA; "I am proud to announce our alliance with the United States of America. It is about time we conjoin once again, as we were long ago. Now both our people can live in safe, secure environments knowing that their brothers & sisters are just over the border. This is a wonderful moment for Canada, as it marks our return to the good old days. Thank you," Governor Pierce finished, smiling and nodding.

 

 

Canada agrees to follow America's terms between the Imperium, and in an effort to cool tensions, a helicopter aide is sent to China with foreign-aid supplies to further help their campaign on the subcontinent. They only contain rations to help feed the Indonesian occupation force.

 

Refusal of the declaration from the United Kingdom angered Governor Pierce but life goes on and nothing major occurs. After two years now of Governor Pierce's regime, the people are calling for an election early next year in October.

 

Progress continues on the two HMS Elizabeth Model aircraft carriers, slated to be finished in eight years. Governor Pierce may not be in office to see the finishing of his carriers, but the country will surely thank him for his efforts. ((8 more pages))

 

As American weapons and equipment reached Canada, Governor Pierce made efforts to re-arm the Army, starting with the Royal Canadian Regiment of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. Re-arming is slated to be wrapped up by next year before progress is made on the entire Corps. (1 page).

"All in favor of putting the motion in action?" asked the Prime Minister Niazi Qemali, head of the Albanian Parliament. The Provincial Government of Albania was sick of the looming Italian threat. The people cried in outrage refusing Italian control, calling the Zog dynasty and its parliament a failure. Fascist campaigns and Communist campaigns ran rampant; radical groups that thought they could better Albania when its true Government could not. The Prime Minister and the King himself were sick of this.

 

The vote was cast, and within minutes, the results flashed across the giant screen on the wall behind the Prime Ministers seat in the Parliament Building. 76% had voted yes, 24% had voted no. There was no in-between here. 

The wizened old Prime Minister stirred in his seat, anticipating the results. The Kingdom was in chaos. Italy only wanted to expand, and Greece was seeming pretty menacing. Albania would soon be under full foreign control, and this was something that could never be allowed to happen again. For too long had the country's growth been inhibited by foreign forces. It would never happen again.

 

"My great grandfather gave his all in creating this country 116 Years ago, and now I work to preserve his labor. It is settled then, Martial law has been declared; we will put into action the Emergency Militarization Plan. The Local Brigade shall be dispatched to man the cities of Tirana, Shkoder, Durres, Vlore, Gjirokaster, Korce, and Kukes immediately. A rigorous conscription shall start: all men of age 18 to 49 shall be drafted into the First Illyrian Brigade. The same thing shall happen in Kosovo, accept we will try to limit the conscription there. The Second Local Brigade shall be dispatched to defend the city of Prishtina and all the checkpoints around the Kosovan country."

"All those who do not wish to join the army shall be given the choice to enlist into the Worker's Brigades. The reopening of the Uzina factories shall begin immediately. Mining camps, state farms, and power plants shall be seized by the government temporarily. Financial efforts shall all focus into the war industry. We do not aim to attack; we aim to defend."

 

"Furthermore, the old Military Outposts from the days of the People's Republic shall be reopened and put into rapid action all around the country, and are to be immediately manned by as many men left over from the Local Brigades as possible, but not too much so that our cities are left undefended. We have a history of trade and hapiness together, and the Kingdom sees no reason to end it now. We cannot defeat the Italians in battle, but ravaging our industries in a fruitless war that we will fight, being a stalwart people, will benefit neither you or us. The United States accepts the alliance from the Kingdom of Illyria and Dardania. Immediately, 4 billion dollars are allotted to the Kingdom, and President Baker congratulates the new government and their courage to struggle for freedom. The U.S President also officially recognizes the Kingdom as an independent state, and urges European countries to do the same and protect it from the Caliphate and other imperialistic policies.

The Socialist Union of Nordic States

After Cyprus surrenders, the island is given to BRITAIN, as they are the METO member that it is most sensible to cede to, given that they occupy South-East Turkey. Britain is encouraged to ensure they treat the people of Cyprus fairly lest they revolt and rejoin the Caliphate. The SUNS fleet then continues with the British force, and begins performing hit-and-run shellings of the coastal defences around Israel.

Back home, the program to increase renewable energy generation is completed. The only member country with any reliance on fossil fuel for power is Denmark, which has been reduced to a much smaller %30 reliance. Fossil fuel consumption is almost negligible in the Union now.

Additionally, the advanced electrical motors, which are up to scratch with any fossil fuel motor, begin being produced. The military begins replacing the engines of its land vehicles with the electric engines, and civilians are offered a small 2 year tax break on road tax if they have their engines of any vehicle replaced, for free, by the government. The Oceanic Imperium

 

 

Across Australia, the many war factories of the Imperium were being put to a new purpose. The war had been won, but the cost had been far, far greater than ever expected. There was much work to do, as the true picture began to emerge. Infrastructure across the empire was all but crippled, and it was only by the government's newfound full control over all functions that military and bureaucratic systems were still able to function. In China, resistance to imperial rule was still stiff, as local governments are established across the country. By appointing Chinese governors, the Imperium hoped to ease the absorption of these people, limiting their direct exposure to their true overlords. Propaganda is subtly introduced at first, and then increased as citizens become used to it. It paints the old Chinese regime as an evil government that cared nothing for its people, placing emphasis on the use of nuclear weaponry.
 
Further effort is put into rebuilding a functioning infrastructure. Repairs and expansion begin on the system of roads in the Imperium, as it's expected that the new population centers will be in the currently least developed areas of the realm. An idea begins to take shape among the upper echelons of the government, and is soon passed down to the lower classes: this holocaust is an opportunity. The nation will be rebuilt, fully modern and greater than ever before. The irradiated zones of the islands will be used as industrial centers and will house generators to tap the vast amount of geothermal energy under the region. Indonesia alone held 40% of the world's potential geothermic resources, and to fully utilize it would be...revolutionary, to say the least.
 
The empire's military capacity was still formidable, but with these domestic efforts, the country would not be able to sustain an all-out war for a while. Apart from the two army groups on the move, all military forces adopt a peacekeeping role, helping to speed reconstruction.
((So I'm hoping to have reconstruction finished five pages from now; if anyone has a problem with that now's the time to say so: an Imperium at full power is going to be a major force.))
 
The army group from Taiwan's movement across China is slow, as infrastructure in the west is poor and it is forced to stop several times due to lack of supplies and pockets of Chinese resistance. When it does arrive in the northwest, its officers are well aware that they are on the frontier, and conserve their resources accordingly. Approximately a million jihadis are spread across the area, and it was the job of the veteran imperial troops to drive them out. Offensives are carried out with purely infantry whenever possible, bringing in the armor to break the Caliph's stronger points. As the campaign goes on, airfields further back in the Chinese interior are captured, and supply drops and airstrikes become more frequent, which allows imperial forces to begin to push more forcefully.
 
The imperial fleet meets up with the 30,000 badai troopers that had been mobilized and sent to sea months earlier, and continues west, around the tip of Sri Lanka, where an Oceanic naval base is already taking shape. Setting a course for the Persian gulf, it arrives at its destination about a week before the fighting begins in China. As it passes through the Strait of Hormuz, some of these soldiers are sent onto land, with 3,000 securing the island of Qeshm, and another 3,000 landing at Khasab. The Khasab force secures a 40-mile buffer zone, but otherwise these forces maintain their positions, equipped to and more than capable of holding off whatever the Caliph decides to send at them.
 
The rest of the fleet continues into the gulf, dispatching any coastal defenses that attempt to fire. When the troops land, they divide into three forces in Kuwait bay, the Iranian bay, and the mouth of the Euphrates river. They are supported by 250 tsunami tanks and around 70 antipersonnel tanks: enough armor to do the job, but not enough for a blitz.
 
The development of a successor to the Overlord system has been underway with American scientists since the Americans began construction of their carriers. The destruction of the CMR headquarters in Jakarta is a major setback, but now the project is resumed at a slow pace.
 
The American-brokered agreement with Canada is found to be acceptable. Attacks on Canadian shipping and travel cease.
 
Imperial rule is imposed over the Indian concessions, which include the country's largest city, Mumbai, as well as some of the busiest ports on the subcontinent.
 

Macquarie Island, Southern Ocean

Omar's work had gone undisturbed. Apart from the appearance of a few stray Indian ships, nothing had come close to the island, and the facility's existence had remained a secret. The events elsewhere had had no effect here. In fact, the only evidence that there was a world outside were the occasional shipments of supplies and...subjects. No words were ever exchanged with the men who drove those boats, and every time the men were different. It wasn't Omar's place to question what happened to them once their job was done. He didn't care anyway.
"The virus' tendency to cause widespread thrombosis as soon as three hours after infection has been effectively neutralized," the latest report states. "While the symptom is still expressed, it manifests from the current strain an average of five days after infection and can easily be regulated with basic anticoagulants. It pleases me to say, albeit with caution, that we may now begin work on the original purpose of the project. An expansion to the facility is underway to house the next generation of tests, and I would like to request new criteria for the subjects that you send me..."

Egypt

The French proposition was perhaps more deadly then the war itself. Muhammad said nothing as his underlings either clamored for war, peace, or the French offer. People-particularly the youth-had no care for the Islamic Caliphate, and thought the French was their best way out. They demanded a new government be established, and a direct order from the IC prophet was issued to Muhammad. Execute all who opposed the war, Egyptian government, or the Islamic Caliphate. Riots ensued, and all sorts of parties took up peaceful or violent means to see their view taken seriously. That was two weeks ago.

 

Now Muhammad lay dead, killed by the majority party/rebel group headed by Abdi Kosef. Kosef and his rebel group "The Egyptian Enlightenment  Endeavorers" took control of Alexandria. Egypt became a battle ground as rebels fought for power, and on the front the fighting was in shambles. The majority of the Egyptian troops in the IC army stood down and sought to stay out of the fighting. Other hardline groups or units still loyal to the IC advanced with no coordination as the Egyptian officers withdrew. They would die quickly, but cost the French medium casualties. The world waited to see what would happen, one week ago.

 

Presently, the EEE was seen as a popular movement, and the army mainly supported Kosef. Kosef and his newly established but unrecognized government send a message to the French at the door-step.

 

"Though the condition of Egypt remains unstable, the army and people stand behind me. We know your terms were meant for the dead pretender Muhammad, but hope my administration can help make the offer still viable. As the Egyptian people decide on government and every other mess of problems, your forces will be able to advance through Egypt, and exclusively use the Suez. More loyal Egyptian army regiments will march with you if you permit it. In return we hope for any support which would make me most thankful, and the old offer of turning land over to the Egyptian people."

 

The head officer of the Egyptian army units loyal to Kosef was an immigrant named Abel. Israeli by birth, he became an Egyptian citizen and joined the army. Working his way up, he kept an air of loyalty to the IC, and absolute loyalty to his men. Inspiring his men, and gaining their trust. Abel was the main reason the Egyptian troops  supported Kosef. They would follow him to the end, and Abel was determined to keep his lucrative partnership with Kosef open.

Russia

Ivan was furious when he realized the world was against him. Would America support him against Western Europe should he declare war? For now he bid his time, recalling his troops for a period of peace. He would be dormant, but he would rise again.

More progress is made with the recently added countries to the Union. Many were bad tempered, but the benefits of Russia were spread across to boost some happiness. For now, Russia ignored the problem in the South East and focused on their current state of growing internally.
